About English Springer Rescue

North West English Springer Spaniel Rescue (NWESSR) is a registered charity with over 30 years’ experience dedicated to helping English Springer Spaniels in need. Over the decades, the charity has found loving homes for hundreds of Springers who have become homeless for reasons including bereavement, illness, financial hardship, abandonment, or cruelty and neglect. NWESSR takes great care in assessing each dog and matching them with suitable, experienced homes, particularly for dogs who have suffered trauma or whose needs require extra understanding. Recognised by The Kennel Club and listed in the Kennel Club Rescue Directory, the charity works tirelessly to reunite dogs with families where possible or find them new forever homes. Through careful rehoming and ongoing commitment, NWESSR continues to support Springers and the people who adopt them.

BreedEnglish Springer Spaniel

Charlie is a handsome 5yrs old Springer, who is now enjoying the attention he receives in our “Springer School” but also looking forward to his graduation It wasn’t that way for the poor lad when he arrived, he seemed shocked to find himself in kennels and just sat in his bed and quivered. But with patient handling, once out and about, we discovered he likes to try and please.Charlie can now leave the past behind and face a brighter future. With patience and understanding Charlie has learnt that keeping toys to himself is not much fun as the result is the game ends. He enjoys lots of paw giving, high 5’s, nose touches and chin rests, which have built his confidence in human touch.Charlie adores swimming at every opportunity. He likes to play hide and seek in the woods keeping a sharp eye on his handler, as he doesn’t want to lose him. When out and about he is a gregarious chap and is happy to say hello to other dogs politely. Our dog walker sums him up as follows – “Such an absolute heart melter ”This friendly boy is looking for a home to give him stability, with either a single person or a couple, with no other pets. Owners who are prepared to commit to furthering Charlie’s development, building on what he has learnt. In return you will gain many years of enjoyment with a dog who deserves the best. Five year old Jett isn’t just a handsome boy, he’s also one of the brightest students in NWESSR’s Springer School, where he is doing just great!Jett’s currently transforming from city boy to country gentleman! Before coming into our care, he lived in London. The lack of green spaces for proper walks wasn’t ideal, and then to make matters worse, a family member moved out, and consequently his owner struggled to give him the exercise and attention a Springer needs. Boredom and frustration affected Jett’s demeanour, so sensitive handling would not go amiss.Jett is a real clever lad, and has learnt voice commands and hand signals. During his time in “Springer School”, his training has continued and he is happy to play with balls and toys with no sign of resource guarding around toys or food. When out walking on the lead he is excited at first but calms down. Off lead he enjoys a ball, loves to run around and have fun, and has demonstrated a good recall.Jett needs to have a routine and consistency, important to make him feel secure and safe. He needs a home where the owners have time to continue with his training and provide fun exercise opportunities. After living in the smoke, he will flourish with access to the countryside. If you think you can give Jett a loving home, please visit on the button to find out more about the and complete an online form application.Or you can :and one of our team will provide more information about our .

LUCY Lovely girl Lucy is looking for a new home Just imagine waking up to her beautiful little face every morning!Lucy is five years old, and is currently part of a loving family who have had her from being a puppy. Her owners are having to relocate to another country, and sadly cannot take Lucy with them. They are determined to find the very best home for her and have turned to NWESSR for help.Lucy is a happy, gentle and affectionate girl, who likes to play and happily shares her toys with her family. Due to covid she missed out on early socialisation and so can be a little timid around strange dogs when on her lead. Off lead she tends not to interact with them, but if one comes over she is usually fine. She is a little wary of visitors to the home that she doesn’t know, but it’s nothing that can’t be resolved with patience and experience.Lucy needs an understanding family that will carefully and gradually introduce her to other dogs when out and about, and not overwhelm her at home with lots of visitors, so that she can find her confidence in a new home. She will enjoy taking part in fun and interesting activities and we know she’s going to make a wonderful companion for some very lucky family! If you are interested in adopting Lucy, on the button below or : and one of our team will provide more information about our .

Oscar, a 7 years old male English Springer Spaniel available for adoption from English Springer Rescue in Cheshire

English Springer Rescue

Oscar

Cheshire
SexMale
Age7 years
BreedEnglish Springer Spaniel

Oscar will celebrate his 6th birthday next month and we don’t want the party to be in kennels. We are looking for a great home for this most gorgeous boy with the appealing face, to help him blow out the candles Since being a puppy, Oscar had been living happily in his home. However, things changed with the arrival of a child now under two years and the prospect of another baby due very soon. The child likes to play with Oscar, but doesn’t understand boundaries. In the excitement she can get knocked over by an exuberant Oscar. He is more comfortable with 7yr old visiting child who grew up with him and they enjoyed playing together.Oscar only had access to a small yard and as the owner was finding it hard to find time to exercise, walk or play with him daily, they were concerned his needs were not being fulfilled Oscar pulls a bit on the lead, so in a new home he will need some reward based training. His recall is not firmly established, but in an enclosed space he is more interested in going on a Sniffari. He likes to say hello to other dogs and can pull towards them. Oscar will need a cat free home as he is not particularly keen.He likes to “chill out” in his own space when he is tired. He will appreciate a quiet place to retire to. It can be scary for our furry friends when all they know has changed around them. It takes time for a dog to learn new routines and try to figure out what the new owners expect. Patience at this time will reap dividends in the future.Oscar needs a home with active owners who will enjoy his company on lovely long walks and enjoy playtime to keep his mind busy and active If you think you can give this gorgeous boy the home he deserves on the button below to find out more about the and complete an online form application.
