About Paws Help

Paws Help is a fully established, foster-based dog rescue run entirely by dedicated volunteers across England. With no kennels or shelters, all UK dogs are cared for in family foster homes, while dogs arriving from abroad are placed directly into forever homes or foster care for further assessment. The charity rescues abandoned and surrendered dogs, ensuring they receive full veterinary treatment, vaccinations, and neutering where appropriate before rehoming. Funded solely through adoption fees and public donations, every penny goes directly toward helping dogs in need, with lifelong rescue back-up and post-adoption support provided to adopters. Guided by compassion and inclusivity, Paws Help is committed to giving every dog—regardless of age, health, or history—the chance of a safe, loving forever home.

I honestly don’t understand. Every time I look at Bruno, I ask myself the same question. How is he still waiting? How is this sweet, affectionate, beautiful young dog being overlooked again and again? Because everyone who actually meets Bruno falls in love with him. His foster certainly did.And yet month after month passes, while Bruno watches other dogs leave for their forever homes. Still waiting for somebody to finally choose him.Bruno is around 15 months old, a large young boy with a huge heart, an even bigger love to give and enough affection to last a lifetime.• SIZE: Large (62 cm / 27 kg)• NEUTERED: Yes• CHARACTER: Affectionate • Clever • Playful • Loyal • Eager to learn• DOGS: Friendly, playful, benefits from another medium-to-large female dog• CATS: Not suitable• CHILDREN: Dog-savvy children 10+• HOME LIFE: Loving family companionBruno was born during the war near the frontline. His mother was rescued by soldiers from a destroyed village on the frontline in Ukraine. Bruno and his siblings were later evacuated to safety and raised in foster care surrounded by kindness, other dogs and people who cared about them.He grew up loved. But somehow, despite everything he has to offer, he is still waiting for the family that is meant to be his own.Bruno is one of those dogs whose heart is always open. His foster says his favourite thing in the world is cuddling. In fact, if he thought he could get away with it, he would probably climb directly onto your shoulders and stay there forever. He adores people. He adores affection. He adores being involved in family life.At home he is calm, affectionate, housetrained and beautifully settled. He enjoys toys, learning new things and spending time with his humans. He is incredibly intelligent and loves training. Give him a treat, a game or a challenge and you can almost see his brain working. But Bruno is also still young. Like many young dogs, he needs guidance, structure and somebody willing to continue showing him the world at a pace he can process. His foster describes him as an amazing, sweet, goofy young lad who simply needs someone confident enough to help him grow into the dog he is already becoming. And every day he gets better. Every day he learns. Every day he tries his hardest. His foster says:“I will miss him so much when he goes. I’ve loved having him.” Honestly, that says everything.Bruno is looking for people who won’t just own a dog. He is looking for people who want a best friend. An active family who loves countryside walks, adventures, training, games and including their dog in everyday life.A home with another friendly, playful medium-to-large female dog would help him enormously and bring out the very best in him.Bruno needs a confident but kind handler. For most of his life, Bruno lived in very rural environments, so he had little exposure to busy roads, heavy traffic, crowds of people, running children, bicycles, scooters and other aspects of modern urban life.Because of this, he can still feel unsure around some strangers when out on walks. His future owner should be physically capable of handling a large dog and willing to continue using positive confidence-building and desensitisation games to help him navigate the world. This does not come from aggression. It comes from uncertainty and lack of previous experience. Like all dogs, Bruno can sometimes view unfamiliar things with caution. It is a natural survival instinct — if something is unknown, it may potentially be a threat. The wonderful thing is that Bruno is incredibly intelligent, eager to learn and responds beautifully to guidance. With a little time, consistency and a lot of heart, his confidence continues to grow. Rescue will be happy to provide ongoing support and access to professional behavioural guidance to help Bruno and his future family succeed together. Most importantly, he needs people who can see beyond the fact that he isn’t a tiny fluffy puppy anymore and appreciate what he truly is:A wonderful young dog with his whole life ahead of him. Bruno doesn’t need saving. He doesn’t need fixing. He simply needs somebody to finally see him. To meet him. To spend ten minutes with him. Because once people do, they always discover the same thing: Bruno is impossible not to love. And somewhere out there is the family who will wonder how they ever lived without him. ️Bruno is fully healthy, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Unfortunately, the girls’ trial home did not work out. Nobody’s fault. No drama. No bad dogs or wrong people.Candy and Esmeralda arrived in the UK at the end of April full of hope for their forever home. Their family truly tried, loved them and gave them time. But after 3 weeks it became clear that Candy’s trust-building process would simply need much more time, calm and quiet than their current lifestyle could offer. The couple are understandably social people who enjoy friends visiting, barbecues, company. The paused to allow girls to settle. But they can’t pause their life for too long. But for two sensitive little girls — especially gentle Candy — the perspective of many visitors and new faces will be clearly too overwhelming. And instead of forcing them to “adapt faster,” the family made the kind and honest decision to help them find a calmer environment better suited to who they are. Meet Candy & EsmeraldaThese two small girls are around 9 months old and are deeply bonded. Together they bring out the best in one another and move through life side by side. Highlights • SIZE: Both Small (around 5–6 kg)• SPAYED: Yes, recently• CHARACTER: Gentle • Sensitive • Loving • Playful • Affectionate• DOGS: Adore other friendly dogs and will make great company to small-to-medium dogs• CATS: Not tested• CHILDREN: Adult-only home preferred due to them being sensitive souls• HOUSETRAINING: Mostly housetrained, puppy pad trained overnight and during settlement Rescue StoryThe girls were rescued as tiny abandoned puppies found wandering near rubbish bins in a small rural town in Ukraine. Since then, they have grown up together, slept curled into each other and formed an incredibly close emotional bond. They travelled to the UK together and absolutely rely on each other for confidence, comfort and emotional security. More About EsmeraldaEsmeralda is the more confident sister — bright, funny, curious and eager to be involved in everything. She happily follows her humans around the house, supervises the garden like a tiny neighbourhood watch officer and absolutely loves cuddles in the evenings. She adores squeaky toys, chew enrichments and being near her people. She settles quickly and naturally helps Candy feel safer in new situations. More About CandyCandy is the softer, more delicate soul. She tends to trust women a bit more from start, as probably large men seems too large for this tiny girl. But that’s just a matter of time. The long journey and huge life change overwhelmed her deeply, and while she is playful and happy in the garden with Esmeralda, she still needs time before fully trusting people physically again. At her foster in Ukraine she was actually very affectionate and loving cuddles, often asking for more and more, so we know this loving side is still there — she simply needs patient, quiet people who will not rush her.She may bark when startled or unsure at the moment, but this is anxiety, not aggression, and already improving slowly as she settles. Their Daily LifeThe girls are beautifully behaved in the home — non-destructive when given their favorite horns and hooves to chew, gentle and funny little companions. They absolutely love spending time outdoors in the garden and this is honestly ESSENTIAL for them. They are outdoorsy little souls who enjoy grass, fresh air, rolling around, exploring and simply lying in the sunshine together for hours.A secure private garden with easy free access in and out is extremely important for their confidence and happiness. They adore squeaky toys and slowly collect them into their crate like tiny treasure hunters. They are mostly quiet dogs and not big barkers overall. They are still puppies — playful, active and joyful — but they are not ready yet for busy outside walks or urban life. It may take another 4–5 weeks before they feel confident enough to start exploring outside environments safely. They are NOT suitable for busy city life, traffic-heavy areas or noisy urban environments.Their perfect home would be rural or semi-rural, with fields, woodland or quiet greenery nearby, where life feels slower, calmer and more predictable. Ideal HomeCandy and Esmeralda need a calm, patient adult-only home with kind people who will simply allow them to settle in their own time.No pressure. No too big expectations for immediate trust. No rushing physical affection before they are ready. They do not need “experienced” owners. They simply need loving humans who understand that trust sometimes grows slowly — and beautifully.A quiet loving home, secure grassy garden and peaceful surroundings are essential for them.Once they feel safe, they will reward their people with the gentlest love, sweetest companionship and the kind of quiet loyalty that feels incredibly special because it was earned slowly and honestly. ️They will come with food, toys, chews, hooves and their belongings to help them settle comfortably into their future ho

Here is Doris again… and our hearts are breaking for her.Unfortunately, it hasn’t worked out again, and now Doris urgently needs the right foster home before she ends up in kennels. We have just a few days. And for a young, strong, sensitive dog, kennels will not help — they will only make her worse.Doris is not a bad dog. She is not dangerous. She is not broken. She is a big softy, loving girl trapped in a large, strong, over-excited body. She is affectionate, loving with people at home, joyful and full of life — but she missed the early training and socialisation she needed, through absolutely no fault of her own.Because she was never shown how to cope with the world, Doris learned to respond the only way she could — through reactivity. She doesn’t need pressure or rushing. She needs someone who will listen to her and allow her to process everything at her own slow, safe pace. She is active, enthusiastic, clever and desperate to connect… but she doesn’t yet know where to put all that energy and emotion. She needs guidance, not judgement. Structure, not another rejection. A committed, confident person — not someone acting only from compassion in the moment, but someone ready to truly help her. Meet DorisDoris is around 1.5 years old, a medium to upper-medium cross girl. She is young, strong, energetic, affectionate and intelligent — a dog with huge potential, but one who needs someone experienced enough to help her learn how to live calmly in the world. Highlights * SIZE: Upper-medium* SPAYED: Yes* CHARACTER: Affectionate • Playful • Loving • Energetic • Intelligent* DOGS: not lived with other dog for a while, outside is currently reactive, needs management* CATS: Not suitable* CHILDREN: Older, dog-savvy children only, 14+ Rescue StoryDoris was born here in the UK. This is not an imported dog with an unknown past. She is one of our English dogs — and still she has been failed again and again. She was sold as a young puppy, returned to seller, surrendered, rehomed, and now she is back again. Before coming into rescue, Doris was already at risk of euthanasia because seller didn’t want her. She was a young dog with energy, strength and no proper guidance — and instead of being helped, she nearly lost her life. When she was given care, attention and structure, she started to blossom quickly. She showed her lovely nature, her affection, her eagerness to learn, her joy for life. Now she has only a few days before kennels become the only option. And we are desperate to protect her from that. More About DorisDoris is a real softy at home, in safe and quiet environment. A big, loving, people-focused girl who wants to bond, wants to play, wants to belong. She attaches quickly, especially to women, and when she feels safe and engaged, she gives so much back. Her family described how she will play ball for ages and how this is one of the best ways to help her burn energy. She even played ball with a 6-year-old child without issues. She can is clean and well-behaved indoors, she can wait for food, wait at the door. But Doris is also struggling. She is reactive to people, dogs, cars — the outside world can overwhelm her quickly. She pulls on lead, though this has improved with guidance. She can become over-aroused and frustrated, because she has energy and enthusiasm but no proper skills yet to manage them. She is still uneasy around unknown men, and she does not like being touched too much around her sides. She needs someone who will respect her body language, not push her, and help her feel safe through calm, consistent handling. This is not a dog who needs pity. Doris needs someone capable. Someone experienced with large, strong, young, energetic dogs. Someone who understands that reactivity is not “badness” — it is often confusion, frustration, insecurity. In the right hands, Doris can become a fantastic dog. She is affectionate, trainable, responsive and loving. But she needs the right person to show her how. Ideal HomeDoris needs an experienced, confident and committed foster home urgently. We are not insisting on immediate adoption commitment. What we need first is the right foster — someone who can give her safety, structure and a real chance. She needs an active home with someone who understands strong young dogs, reactivity, decompression and consistent training. She needs calm handling, clear boundaries, routine, physical exercise and mental stimulation.A home without cats is needed due to prey drive. A home without young children, though older, dog-savvy teens may be considered if the adults are experienced and confident. She may need to be the only dog at least initially, so she can decompress and be assessed properly without pressure. This must be someone ready for the reality of helping Doris — not someone moved only by her sad story. She needs kindness, yes, but she also needs confidence, experience and commitment. Doris is a young dog who has had too little of w

Some stories are particularly hard to write. Jake came into our rescue in October 2025, still a puppy. We helped him find what we hoped would be his forever family and for many months everything seemed perfect. But life changes. His family are now preparing to welcome a baby and have made the difficult decision to ask us to help Jake find a more suitable home before that happens.Jake is deeply loved. But he is uncomfortable/nervous around young children and his family feel it would not be fair on either Jake or the future child to put everyone in a situation where they would struggle. Meet JakeJake is 1,5 years old Patterdale Cross boy, small-to-low medium, full of personality, affection and typical terrier enthusiasm. Highlights • SIZE: Small (upper end of small)• NEUTERED: Yes• CHARACTER: Loving • Affectionate • Active • Clever • People-oriented• DOGS: Can be friendly with dogs off leash but reactive on leash• CATS: No small pets• CHILDREN: No young children• HOUSETRAINED: YesJake is described by his current family as very loving and friendly with his owners and visitors to the home. He loves being close to his people and is very much the sort of dog who enjoys cuddles and companionship. He sleeps on the bed, enjoys playing with toys and balls, loves exploring the garden and has all the curiosity and determination you would expect from a young terrier.Jake can be left for a few hours without any problems and he fully settles and knows some basic commands. His recall is described as good and he enjoys an active lifestyle.Like many terrier types, he is always interested in investigating scents and movement. He is not fully confident around traffic. Can get on with other dogs but tends to be reactive on a lead. In his previous home he often visited other family with dogs and was always friendly with them. Ideal HomeJake needs an active adult home with no young children living in or regularly visiting the property. His ideal family is one that loves countryside walks and exploring nature together — but also appreciates coming home afterwards to share the sofa with an affectionate little lap dog who loves nothing more than cuddles and being close to his people. ️A family familiar with terrier breeds would be ideal, especially people who appreciate their intelligence, enthusiasm and sometimes cheeky personalities. He would love a secure garden, and, most importantly, people who want a dog that enjoys being close and involved in everyday life. Jake isn’t looking for perfection. He is looking for a home that accepts him for who he is, and gives him the love and companionship he thrives on.Because despite everything, Jake is still the same affectionate little lap dog who simply wants to belong. ️ Health InformationJake is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. My heart is honestly breaking. I don’t understand why nobody sees this beautiful young girl. No applications. No enquiries. No interest. She is a young, healthy, beautiful lower-medium dog with no any hard behavioural issues, no impossible requirements. And yet somehow she remains completely invisible. I don’t know what else I can do to make people notice her. I am ready to sing, dance, stand on my head… but I doubt even that would help. Please look at Lila. Her current family have already done far more than we could reasonably expect. We are incredibly grateful to them. But they cannot continue much longer. The reality is that Lila is living in an environment that simply does not meet her needs. She is a young, intelligent dog who needs activity, companionship, adventures and mental stimulation. Instead she finds herself in a busy household with young children, visitors, cats, constant management and very little opportunity to relax and be understood.Lila is NOT hyperactive. She is not “too much.” She is simply receiving too little of what she actually needs.A young dog, who is getting not enough mental engagement will eventually start creating her own entertainment. Unfortunately, that entertainment rarely matches what humans would choose. Her foster recently told us: “I am doing my best but I cannot keep this up much longer at all.” And honestly, we understand. This is not the right environment for Lila, and it is not fair on the family either. The children are becoming increasingly uncomfortable around her. The household is under growing pressure. We are reaching the point where a move can no longer be delayed. If we cannot find a foster home in next few days, Lila will likely have to move into kennels. And she absolutely does not deserve that. She deserves woodland walks. Fields. Adventures. A dog friend to play with. A person to follow. A home where she can finally relax and become the dog she was always meant to be. Meet LilaLila is an 18-month-old medium-sized girl, around knee height, with the intelligence and sensitivity typical of a young dog.• SIZE: Lower-medium (42–44 cm)• SPAYED: Yes• CHARACTER: Gentle • Sensitive • Loving • Clever • Affectionate• DOGS: Friendly and would benefit enormously from a friendly canine companion of around her size or a bit bigger• CATS: Not suitable to live with cats• CHILDREN: Calm, dog-savvy older children 10+ Rescue StoryLila was brought to safety from eastern Ukraine after war destroyed the home of the man caring for her. When he was later forced to leave, the dogs risked being abandoned entirely. Thankfully, Lila was rescued before that happened. More About LilaLila absolutely loves people. From the moment she arrived in the UK she sought cuddles, affection and connection. She walks beautifully on lead, loves being close to her people and has a wonderfully gentle nature.Underneath that lovely personality is a dog who still lacks confidence and is trying to make sense of the world around her. She needs predictability. She needs guidance. She needs a chance to feel safe.Lila would thrive with active, kind people who enjoy the outdoors and want a companion to share everyday life with. A rural or semi-rural enviroment would suit her beautifully.A friendly resident dog would be a huge bonus. We think she would absolutely love having a canine friend to play with, learn from and cuddle up beside. Most importantly, she needs people who understand that sensitive dogs bloom when given time, routine and kindness. Please don’t let Lila become another young dog lost in kennels. All she needs is someone willing to say: “Come on then, Lila. Let’s go home.” ️ Health InformationLila is healthy, spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. Malik

Staffordshire
SexMale
Age5 years
BreedAlaskan Malamute

Malik arrived in UK in spring straight to foster, a wonderful family who adopted another dog from us before. He had a treatable growth which required veterinary treatment and his foster, who immediately fell in love with him, said he will not let him go until fully healthy. Malik has completed his treatment and has been given a clean bill of health by his veterinarian. He is completely healthy now, requires no ongoing treatment, and is 100% ready for many happy years ahead with his new family. Meet MalikMalik is a 7.5-year-old large boy, likely Malamute cross, with a calm, affectionate and incredibly empathic nature. He is one of those dogs who simply makes life feel easier. Easy to live with, easy to love and easy to welcome into your home. Highlights • SIZE: Large (59–60 cm / 37 kg)• NEUTERED: Yes• CHARACTER: Calm • Affectionate • Empathic • Gentle • Easy-going• DOGS: Friendly and very patient with resident dog, selective when on a leash• CATS: Not tested, probably no• CHILDREN: Wonderful and gentle Rescue StoryMalik was found alone on the territory of an abandoned factory — unwanted and forgotten. He was taken to a municipal shelter where dogs are given only a short window to be claimed before being released back onto the streets.Volunteers knew Malik would not cope with that life. His trusting nature and gentle character made him far too vulnerable. Thankfully, he was given the chance he deserved. More About MalikMalik is an incredibly calm, balanced and emotionally intelligent dog.His foster says: “Malik is a truly special boy. He’s gentle, wise and very empathic. His easy-going nature makes him very easy to live with and his attention-grabbing looks mean he gets a lot of fuss.”He settled immediately into foster life and integrated well with the resident rescue dog, who is nervous herself.“He’s very respectful of her space and never reacted to any of her attempts to wind him up.”Malik has a wonderful way about him. He seems to understand other dogs and people instinctively and responds with patience and kindness. He absolutely trusts and loves people and happily introduces himself to everyone he meets both inside and outside the house. His striking appearance may be what first catches people’s attention, but it is his wonderful temperament that leaves the lasting impression. He enjoys company, affection and a good game of tug. He’s clever, inquisitive and genuinely loves being involved in everyday life. His foster describes him simply as: “He’s a joy to be around.”Like many Malamute-type dogs, Malik is active and loves his walks. He would want to be with a family who enjoy walking, hiking and spending time outdoors. But once he’s had a good walk, he’ll happily settle and snooze all day long.He is a strong boy with a natural prey drive, which is exactly what you would expect from his breed type. He will need owners who understand large northern breeds and can provide appropriate walks, guidance and enrichment. His foster also feels that his occasional uncertainty around unfamiliar dogs is likely linked to being on lead and having limited social opportunities since arriving in the UK. He believes his confidence will continue to improve with more training, positive experiences and regular socialisation. Ideal HomeMalik would thrive with people who enjoy outdoor life and want a dog as a true companion. A home with a secure garden and owners who appreciate large breeds would suit him perfectly. He could live as an only dog or potentially with a suitable friendly and calm female dog. Most importantly, he needs a family who will appreciate the wonderful dog he is — calm, loving, loyal and full of quiet wisdom. Malik is one of those dogs who doesn’t need to try hard to be special. He simply is. The kind of dog who becomes part of the family from day one and leaves pawprints on your heart forever. Health InformationMalik is fully healthy, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. He has completed his non-malignant growth treatment, has been officially cleared with a clean bill of health and requires no ongoing treatment. Marco arrived in the UK in the middle of May together with his sister Yara, hoping this would finally be the beginning of their forever lives. But less than a week after arrival, Marco already needed to move again. Not because he did anything wrong. But because after losing everything familiar, surviving a huge journey, arriving into a completely unknown country… he became overwhelmed and frightened around unfamiliar men and young children in the home. His way of communicating this was barking. No aggression. No nastiness. Just fear and uncertainty from still a puppy dog whose entire world changed overnight. His foster says:“Marco and Yara arrived just under a week ago to me after having only been in the UK for 5 previous days.I think none of us can fully appreciate how overwhelming the change of life can be for these precious young souls, having lost everything they’ve known, endured a really long journey and then found themselves in a strange land, with strange people, language, smells, sights etc.” Meet MarcoMarco is around 9 months old, lower-medium in size, with a playful heart and incredibly affectionate nature. Highlights • SIZE: Lower-medium (48 cm / approx. 18 kg)• NEUTERED: Yes• CHARACTER: Loving • Playful • Gentle • Clever • Affectionate • Soft natured• DOGS: Friendly, Absolutely needs another friendly resident female dog• CATS: Not tested• CHILDREN: Adult home or with older dog-savvy children• HOME LIFE: Beautifully mannered, emotionally attached and very people-focused Rescue StoryMarco was found as a tiny newborn puppy together with his mum and siblings abandoned on the shore of a lake. Tiny helpless babies left without safety or shelter.Thankfully they were rescued in time and brought into care before tragedy happened. His foster says:“Marco bonds incredibly quickly and strongly with his human! He loves playing with other dogs and toys, is very soft natured and affectionate, and is growing in confidence every day.”Despite all the upheaval, Marco has already shown how quickly he learns to trust once he feels emotionally safe.“He has shown a tendency to be unsure of men in the home, but is not at all aggressive… he simply barks and runs away… he is only frightened and overwhelmed. Within a few short days, he has already improved hugely with my husband in the home, showing that he just needs some time, understanding and patience… and 6 days is not long at all!!”Marco absolutely LOVES other dogs and truly NEEDS female canine companionship in his future home. He learns confidence through other dogs and emotionally settles much faster when he has a balanced, playful companion beside him.“He is learning from the other dogs in the home and is becoming more curious and confident with people in general.”Marco is playful and puppy-like in lovely ways. He loves toys, chews and interaction, but at the same time he is not high energy or chaotic in the home. For both puppies, foster says:“They are both amazing young dogs, still puppylike in many ways. They are not high energy and are very restful and well mannered in the home.Once bonded with their human, they love contact, cuddles, strokes, belly rubs and are happy to be brushed. Beautiful natured dogs, not demanding at all, just need their human to be there for them.”Marco would thrive in a calm but active home with another friendly but not timid resident female dog who can continue helping him build confidence and emotional security.A quieter rural or semi-rural environment with a secure garden would suit him far better than busy urban life full of constant stimulation. He would love people who enjoy walks, companionship and including a dog in daily life, but who also understand that trust and confidence cannot be built overnight. What Marco needs is just little patience to allow him feel secure, kindness, predictability and people willing to allow him time to exhale and realise he is finally safe. Marco is not asking for perfection. He is simply asking for somebody not to give up on him before he even had a chance to settle, trust and show who he truly is. Marco is fully healthy, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. All dogs are C.Brucella tested before travel (licensed laboratory certificate provided).Name of pet you are interested inWebsite designed and provided by Go & Get Cyber Hype

Mary thought she had finally found her forever home. She was rehomed in Autumn 2025, first as a foster placement… but her family completely fell in love with her and decided to adopt. And truly — with her people — she has been wonderful. But despite all the love it became clear that Mary is struggling more and more with the busy outside world and unfamiliar people. Her family are heartbroken, but they know she needs someone who can give her the calm, structured environment she needs to truly feel safe. This is what her family says:“Mary has been a wonderful dog and we’ve really bonded. When it is just the two of us or with my wife and daughter, she’s perfect. We’ve been able to train her to walk perfectly, she listens and never pulls, she never has accidents in the house, is fine around our cats and is fantastic with my daughter. She really just wants to chill out and cuddle or run around the garden. What she struggles with is being around people that aren’t us, both in our house and out on walks. If someone can help her with this, she will be a perfect companion for their family, but our current situation at home doesn’t allow us to give her the space that she needs. I’m heartbroken to have to find her somewhere else to go, but it is the only thing that is fair for her and my family.” Meet MaryMary is around 5-6 years old, medium-sized, gentle, affectionate and deeply devoted to the people she trusts. She is one of those dogs who forms very close emotional bonds and simply wants to feel safe near her humans. Highlights • SIZE: Medium (52-53 cm / 18 kg)• SPAYED: Yes• CHARACTER: Affectionate • Sensitive • Calm at home • Loyal • Wary of strangers• DOGS: Friendly with dogs• CATS: Good with cats• CHILDREN: Best in calm, dog-savvy 13+• HOUSETRAINED: Yes Rescue StoryMary originally lost her home when her family had to leave the UK and were unable to take her with them. She was then rehomed, and for months everything seemed hopeful. Her family truly bonded with her and wanted desperately to make it work. But over time, it became clear that Mary’s fear and insecurity around unfamiliar people was deeper than first understood. More About MaryMary is not an “everybody’s dog.” She looks steady, but has tender sensitive soul who needs predictability and trust. At home with her people, she is calm, affectionate and beautifully behaved. She loves cuddles, enjoys being close, settles well indoors and has lovely house manners. She walks beautifully on the lead and has made huge progress compared to when she first arrived. But unfamiliar people still overwhelm her. Visitors, strangers approaching, busy environments or unpredictable interactions can trigger fear responses, including growling or snapping when she feels unsafe. This does not come from malice. It comes from insecurity and fear. Her family have made this decision not because they don’t love her — but because they do. They know she deserves someone who can help her better than they can in their current situation. Ideal HomeMary needs a dog-savvy not busy home with minimal visitors and very predictable routines.A quiet location away from busy roads and crowds would suit her best, with a secure garden where she can relax and decompress safely. She needs patient, emotionally steady people who understand sensitive dogs and are happy to move slowly, respect boundaries and continue confidence-building work without pressure. She can happily live with cats and potentially another calm dog. Mary is not a bad dog.She is a sensitive dog trying very hard to feel safe in a world that overwhelms her. With the right person — someone patient and kind— she will be the most loyal, loving companion imaginable. ️ Health InformationMary is healthy, spayed, vaccinated and microchipped.Name of pet you are interested inWebsite designed and provided by Go & Get Cyber Hype

This is a very difficult decision made out of care, not convenience.Milo is a much-loved dog who has been part of his family for years. But as time has passed, his behaviour towards the other dog in the home has changed, and the situation has become increasingly difficult and worrying. His family is doing everything they can to keep everyone safe — but they know now that Milo needs a different environment to truly feel settled and secure. Meet Milo (Patterdale)Milo is a 6-year-old Patterdale Terrier, small but solid at around 15 kg. He is affectionate, loyal and loves human company — a proper little companion who enjoys being close and feeling part of the home. Highlights • SIZE: Upper-Small, solid (approx. 15 kg)• NEUTERED: Yes• CHARACTER: Affectionate • Loyal • Social • Loving • Confident• DOGS: Social outside, but not suitable to live with other dogs due to food guarding• CATS: Not tested, better no• CHILDREN: Used to visiting grandchildren, but best in calm, managed environment, adult home or older children 12+ Surrender Background:Milo has lived with his family for around 5 years, sharing his home with another older male dog. Over time, his behaviour towards the resident dog has become worse, and there have been incidents where he has gone for him for food. Unfortunately, that’s not a rare case when two male dogs live together, especially when one becomes older and weaker. This has created a stressful and worrying environment, especially with grandchildren visiting regularly. Despite being a lovely, friendly dog with people, Milo is no longer safe or comfortable living with 11 years old smaller dog full-time. His family has made the hard decision to find him a home where he can be the only pet and not feel the need to compete or defend. More About MiloMilo is a sweet, affectionate boy who loves to snuggle up and be close to his humans. He enjoys comfort and routine, and when left alone for a few hours, he settles well in his crate, often burying himself in his blanket and resting calmly. He is good on walks and enjoys socialising with other dogs outside of the home environment. However, inside the home, particularly around food he can become territorial and defensive with other dog.He may pull little bit on the lead when excited, but overall, he is easy manageable and enjoys getting out and about. He can bark when people come to the door or when he hears activity outside, showing his alert and protective nature but easily distracted.Milo has never shown aggression towards people and is generally friendly and social. Ideal HomeMilo needs a home where he will be the only pet. He would suit a calm, structured household where he can enjoy companionship, routine and clear boundaries without the stress of living alongside another dog.He would do best with someone who understands terrier traits — confident, loving but sometimes opinionated — and can provide consistency and calm structure. Milo is not a “problem dog.” He is a dog who needs the right environment to feel secure. Give him that, and you will have a loving, loyal companion by your side. ️ Health InformationMilo is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. He has a condition called dry eye, which require drops..Name of pet you are interested inWebsite designed and provided by Go & Get Cyber Hype

Minnie, a 2 years old female Unknown available for adoption from Paws Help in Staffordshire

Minnie

We are not looking for just any home for Minnie. We are looking for the right one.Minnie has been in foster for a long time, not because she isn’t wonderful, but because she needs a very particular kind of person. Someone who understands that trust cannot be rushed. Someone who knows that behaviour is communication. Someone who appreciates that the deepest relationships are often the ones that take time to build.Minnie is not a plush or pre-programmed dog. She never will be. She is very intelligent, sensitive, observant and emotionally complex. She notices everything. She forms deep attachments and doesn’t give her trust away freely. But for the person willing to understand her, she offers something very special in return. This is not a dog who simply lives in your house. This is a dog who becomes your partner. Meet MinnieMinnie is a 2-year-old low-medium girl (approximately 47–48 cm / 20 kg) with a brilliant mind, a sensitive soul and an extraordinary capacity for loyalty. Highlights • SIZE: Low-medium (47–48 cm / 19 kg)• SPAYED: Yes• CHARACTER: Intelligent • Sensitive • Loyal • Affectionate • Deeply bonded to her people• DOGS: Excellent with dogs and gains confidence from them, needs friendly canine companion• CATS: Not tested, better no• CHILDREN: Adult-only home preferred• TRAINING: Supported by professional behaviourist and has made remarkable progress Rescue StoryMinnie’s life began with trauma. At just two months old, she was found on the roadside next to her mother, who had been killed by a car.She was little shy, submissive puppy, but open to people and world around when was adopted at 6 months old. But sadly her fears were misunderstood. Instead of being helped to feel safe, fear-based behaviours were managed through aversive methods, confinement and a muzzle rather than understanding and guidance. The experience set her back profoundly. Feeling frightened and misunderstood, Minnie reached a point where she had no choice but to try to protect herself. She lost trust in people and, at just 8 months old, was returned with the devastating label of an “aggressive dog” and the suggestion that she should be put to sleep. This is where her amazing foster family stepped in. What previous people had damaged in just a couple of months took many months of patience, understanding and dedication to rebuild.Over the past year in foster care, Minnie has slowly rebuilt her confidence step by step, supported by a professional force-free, positive reinforcement behaviourist. Through kindness, consistency and learning to feel safe again, she has made truly remarkable progress. ️The transformation in Minnie has been remarkable. She can now walk-through town environments and manage situations that once felt impossible for her. She learns quickly, responds beautifully to positive reinforcement and is incredibly connected to the people she trusts. One of Minnie’s greatest strengths is her relationship with other dogs. She is social, friendly and relaxed around them. In many situations she takes confidence from canine companions and often feels much safer meeting new people when another dog is present. A calm, balanced resident dog could make a huge difference to her future happiness. But the real magic of Minnie appears once trust is built. When she trusts you, she is affectionate, cuddly and incredibly loyal. She doesn’t simply live alongside her person. She connects. Not every dog does this. Some enjoy affection, some enjoy company. Minnie builds something deeper — a partnership based on trust, understanding and shared experience. The kind of bond that feels almost tangible. As if she is constantly tuned into her person, reading them, learning them, choosing them every day.“When she trusts you — that’s where Minnie truly shines. She is affectionate, cuddly and intensely loyal. She doesn’t just live alongside her person; she connects with them. She will make someone feel chosen.”She has a playful side too, loves her walks, enjoys learning and is always eager to engage with the people she loves. However, Minnie remains wary of strangers and needs thoughtful handling. She is not comfortable in a home with constant visitors, frequent social gatherings or unpredictable environments. This is not a dog you “fix.” This is a dog you understand.Minnie is looking for a person rather than simply a house. Ideally someone with experience of sensitive dogs or an understanding of canine behaviour and body language. She needs a calm, structured environment with predictable routines and minimal visitors.A rural or semi-rural location would suit her perfectly — somewhere with fields, woodland or quiet walking routes nearby, away from crowds and constant stimulation.Although she has made huge progress and can now cope with much more than before, she is happiest where life moves at a gentler pace.Another calm, balanced dog would be essential for her happiness.
