About Skylors Animal Rescue

Skylor’s Animal Rescue is a small, family-run, non-profit dog rescue operating through a network of foster homes rather than a central location. The charity rescues unwanted and abandoned dogs from pounds, along with ex-racing greyhounds directly from the track, and also helps reunite lost dogs with their owners. Skylor’s Animal Rescue rehomes dogs across the UK, carefully assessing each individual dog’s needs and matching them to the most suitable home, regardless of living situation, as long as it is right for the dog. Dogs are fostered in family environments, allowing the team to understand their personalities and needs before adoption. With the dog’s welfare always as the top priority, the rescue is committed to finding loving homes where each dog can truly thrive.

Amelia, a 5 years old female Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier available for adoption from Skylors Animal Rescue in Wales

Skylors Animal Rescue

Amelia

Wales
SexFemale
Age5 years
BreedSoft Coated Wheaten Terrier

Amelia has just come into our care and gone straight into foster with Julia and Mei along with Emma another Terrier cross we have rescued. They are not siblings they are 2 totally different dogs but both rescued from the same are. Poor Amelia has not had the best start to life. She’s a little shy but does love cuddles. She is good with other dogs. Amelia is slightly overweight but with a controlled diet and some exercise she will slim down and get fitter. She walks ok on lead but will benefit from some general training and lead work. Amelia would benefit from a calm home so children over 8 and must have another dog in the home which would be nice for her. Due to her not setting without another dog. No cats or small furries. We will add more about her as she settles in with her foster parents. If you'd like to offer Amelia a forever home, please fill in our online application form. If you’re successful you will receive an email from us (please check your spam), have a home check, then we invite you to meet the dog.

Arthur, a 5 years old male Whippet x Lurcher available for adoption from Skylors Animal Rescue in Wales

Skylors Animal Rescue

Arthur

Wales
SexMale
Age5 years
BreedWhippet x Lurcher

Arthur came into our care after being surrendered. He was very skinny and his coat was dirty and greasy and he was covered in sores. He’s now gained over 3kg and his coat is shinny and healthy and all his sores are healed. He has a lot of scars all over his body and has not had a great life but all that is changing. He's very loving and friendly. He loves other dogs. He loves food and treats. Walks great on a lead. He is house trained. Will make someone an amazing companion. Arthur needs an active home with people who like plenty of walks. Would probably suit a family because he loves being around people. He would also be happy to share a home with a confident resident dog. Would advise not living with cats or small furries. Any new home must have a very secure garden because he can climb fences. So at least 6ft without any edging or anything that is easy for him to climb. He is in foster at the moment and we will update you once we know more. He has the sweetest temperament and needs a loving home to spend the rest of his life in with people who will love him forever. If you'd like to offer Arthur a forever home, please fill in our online application form. If you're successful you will receive an email from us (please check your spam), have a home check, then we invite you to meet the dog. Please answer every question in full and what we ask for otherwise your application will be deleted straight away. (Inc proof from your landlord if renting).

Bart, a 6 years old male Beagle x German Shepherd available for adoption from Skylors Animal Rescue in Wales

Skylors Animal Rescue

Bart

Wales
SexMale
Age6 years
BreedBeagle x German Shepherd

Bart came into our care with his brother Biff from another rescue. Unfortunately they didn’t get much attention and their confidence has been hit hard. These boys are nervous of most things, however since being with us for just over a month Bart has come on so much. He’s been going on walks on his own to try and build his confidence which is paying off. We would love a foster home with a confident resident dog to help give him confidence and show him the ropes while he is waiting for his forever home. This would be such a bonus for this boy as being in kennels is not ideal. But a forever home would be amazing for this lad. He’s more scared of men than women. So maybe a lady could give him the chance of a better life out of kennels. He needs more one on one and plenty of love to help him overcome his fears. Bart is so lovely but so nervous. He will make someone an amazing companion once he trusts you and has decompressed in a home. Bart needs a home in the countryside ideally where he can quietly get used to life outside kennels. Prior to coming in to us Bart and Biff had not seen much. He would benefit from having the company of a confident steady doggie companion to help show him the ropes. Bart isn't very big roughly small Labrador size. What Bart needs :- An understanding owner who will give them time. A quiet home with a good sized garden - rural or semi rural. A resident confident dog No children No Cats / small furries If you could offer this amazing boy Bart a forever home, please fill in our online application form. If you’re successful you will receive an email from us (please check your spam), have a home check, then we invite you to meet the dog. Please answer every question in full and what we ask for otherwise your application will be deleted straight away. (Inc proof from your landlord if renting. )

Layla, a 10 years old female Lurcher available for adoption from Skylors Animal Rescue in Wales

Skylors Animal Rescue

Layla

Wales
SexFemale
Age10 years
BreedLurcher

Poor Layla was taken by her owners to be PTS. We saw a FB post by the vets who she had been taken to asking if any rescue could take her. She had allegedly had a fight with her sister whom she had lived with all her life without issue, but when they were put into a kennel together and they fought. She has no marks on her and we do not know the truth however we are in desperate need of a foster or forever home for her. She has been selective with dogs she has met and to be on the safe side we are looking for her to be the only dog in the home or maybe slow introduction to a similar size Lurcher or greyhound boy. She is in foster with 8 other dogs which she’s become comfortable with. She loves the male greyhound she lives with and loves to play with him. She ignores all the smaller dogs but on the safe side when it’s an excitable time she does wear a muzzle but that’s becoming less and less now. She is muzzle trained. She travels well in the car and will make someone a lovely companion around the house. She is great with humans and just wants a quiet home where she can have cuddles and some peace to relax in her older years. If you'd like to offer Layla a home, please fill in our online application form. If you’re successful you will receive an email from us (please check your spam), have a home check, then we invite you to meet the dog. Please submit an online form and we will get in touch.

Megan, a 8 years old female Greyhound available for adoption from Skylors Animal Rescue in Wales

Skylors Animal Rescue

Megan

Wales
SexFemale
Age8 years
BreedGreyhound

Megan came into our care a couple of months ago. She has spent so long in kennels, she’s taken some time to get used to home life. She’s been in foster with our amazing and experienced fosterer Mick. We’ve also had some help settling her in and working with her with Adam at K999. She’s been living with Hugo, Mick's male greyhound boy who’s as sweet as can be and has been a steady rock for Megan. Here’s what Mick has to say about this gorgeous girl Megan. Megan is a little sweetheart she's been in kennels a long time, so is looking for a second chance of life and love. Megan's totally clean indoors and lets you know when she needs to go out. She has got used to screaming children in the park walks past no problem, cats she'll stare at but no reaction. She's getting used to other dogs running around, I stop with her and let her watch them and move on when she looks away. She needs fine tuning when she meets other dogs as excitement takes over she's been told off by a few dogs and she backs off no retaliation which is good. Hopefully there's someone out there who's willing to give Megan the chance at a life she deserves thank you. Megan can live with another dog of similar size or as and only dog. No cats or small furries at all. Children over 10 years old. Someone who can give her the love and guidance she needs and to continue her training out and about around other dogs. If you'd like to offer Megan a forever home, please fill in our online application form. If you’re successful you will receive an email from us (please check your spam), have a home check, then we invite you to meet the dog.
