Bertie

Bertie is a handsome, smooth haired mini dachshund who is looking for a loving, calm home. Family circumstances have changed and it is becoming increasingly difficult to maintain the relatively quiet and predictable home which Bertie is happiest in. When stressed, Bertie can sometimes be reactive around unknown people and dogs, particularly when ‘protecting’ the house. He has had some work with a dog behaviourist to help implement management strategies and he has responded well to this work. During a stay away from home there was an unfortunate incident where Bertie nipped a workman, however this was completely out of character for him but he had interpreted the plumber as an intruder. He has always been kept separate from workmen which wasn’t the case here so this could have been completely avoided. Bertie is largely fine with other dogs off-lead in open spaces.
