Senior lad Boris came to us via the pound system where he had served his statutory 7 days and remained unclaimed. Without the offer of a rescue space he faced euthanasia.
It is awful seeing any dog in kennels but when they are elderly there is an added amount of guilt to contend with. On arrival, Boris was a little overwhelmed of his new surroundings. He is wary of men but has made some lovely relationships with the staff here at Foal Farm.
Boris has clearly been someone’s companion previously. He knows lots of commands and is eager to please especially in exchange for a tasty treat! He is a cross with a Mastiff and does demonstrate some of the breed traits. He can be a little possessive over food and has the potential to be protective of his people.
On walks Boris can be strong on lead at times but the majority of the time he walks beautifully and is relaxed. He can be a little over interested when meeting some dogs, but we do feel he could share a home with a calm female dog, as g...
