Bambi, a 6 years old male Staffordshire Bull Terrier available for adoption from Foal Farm in Kent

Bambi

BreedStaffordshire Bull Terrier

This is a special appeal for a special boy. We are looking for a long term foster home. Many of our supporters will recognise our boy, Bambi. He originally came to Foal in July 2020 at approximately a year old. He came to us from a pound, so we had no information about Bambi’s history. What we did know, was that this poor boy had not been loved and cared for. He was scared of us, underweight, had sore skin and, overall, he was in very poor condition. With a little time and patience, Bambi soon made friends with the staff and volunteers here. It became apparent that Bambi had allergies, so with medication and a good diet his health improved. Bambi was rehomed in September 2020 but was unfortunately returned after a short while. We learnt from this homing that Bambi struggled with visitors and scenarios which took him by surprise such as opening a car door.On Bambi’s return we started to notice his behaviour appeared to be a little ‘odd’. His eyesight was deteriorating, and his balance was off. We knew there was something else underlying going on and after discussion with our vets, with a delay due to Covid, we finally got Bambi to see a specialist in November 2021. Bambi was diagnosed with neurodegenerative brain disorder and mild hydrocephalus, which is water on the brain and sadly there is no treatment we can give Bambi to help with either of these conditions. He also has impaired vision. Due to his diagnosis and his behaviour becoming unpredictable, we decided it would be best for Bambi to become a sanctuary dog at Foal where he will have stability and be surrounded by people who adore him.Upon diagnosis, we were also informed that his life span would be affected, and he could only live for another two years but there is no way to guarantee this. Fast forward a year and a half, our boy is doing really well, he loves his people and is a very good boy with his favourite friends. There have been no significant changes from when he was first diagnosed and this is very encouraging.Although Bambi still has his little quirks, he has not shown aggression to those that he trusts. We understand him and respect his space when he wants it. He is a fun and loving boy and although has medical issues, is also very clever and loves training! As Bambi is doing so well, we do feel that he has the potential to settle into a new home. We are seeking the impossible, a very special somebody who can give up some time initially to become acquainted with Bambi and develop a trusting relationship with him as we do here at Foal. Homes must be adult only and free from any other animals. The team at Foal would support the transition to the home with as many visits as required with Bambi. We are looking for a foster home, so all ongoing medical issues will be covered by Foal and his new family would have our complete support for his whole life. This boy has done so well and as much as he is happy and settled here, we would love nothing more than for him to have his very own place to call home. If you have any enquiries regarding our beautiful Bambi, please get in touch with the dog team by calling us or emailing [email protected]. Thank you.

Bee, a 5 months old female Staffordshire Bull Terrier available for adoption from Foal Farm in Kent

Foal Farm

Bee

Kent
SexFemale
Age5 months
BreedStaffordshire Bull Terrier

Bee arrived to Foal Farm with her sister Honey, the girls are 5 months old and up until they came to us they had been with all of their litter mates. During this time they also were not socialised and hadn’t experienced the outside world.Bee is a Staffie cross but we do not know what with. She is underweight at the moment but she is a small to medium size weighing approximately 10kg, we can’t be sure about how much more she will grow.Although Bee is still very much a youngster, to have only experienced isolation with her litter mates at 5 months old, she has missed out on a lot of important training and socialisation.Unfortunately this has already had an impact on Bee. Whilst she is a very friendly girl with everyone she meets, the only way she knows how to cope with excitement is by mouthing. She has a habit of grabbing your clothing and turning it into a big game, we have already started training with Bee and we are seeing improvement.Bee has only ever met her litter mates before and is currently kennelled with Honey and there are no issues at all. However, she has no clue on how to interact with a new dog. She is very unsure around them and her behaviour is intense, she stares at them and wants to jump all over them. This is not a nice experience for the other dog and Bee becomes so over aroused that this behaviour could quickly become aggressive. It is such a shame as if Bee had been given the appropriate training and socialisation during the all important socialisation phase of a very young pup, these concerns would have been avoidable.Bee is only 5 months and whilst her start in life has made an impact on her and could lead to her being fearful in new experiences and also reactivity. She is still very young and has a lot of potential but will need a very dedicated owner to help her. Bee really is a bundle of joy, she’s a typical youngster who is happy, bouncy and loving. She loves her food which will be helpful for training too and once she is settled in the right home we are sure she will thrive. We are seeking an older family home for Bee where she will be the only pet. She is such a sweet girl who will give you so much love but is very much a project dog, if you have the time and patience Bee needs to set her up for success for the rest of her life, please complete the online application.

Billy, a 2 years old male Crossbreed available for adoption from Foal Farm in Kent

Foal Farm

Billy

Kent
SexMale
Age2 years
BreedCrossbreed

Billy is just 2 years old and has been in kennels for nearly a year of his life. He came from an unstable environment and had a number of homes due to no fault of his own. He is a lovely boy who is very friendly, he loves people but when he becomes over excited he can be very boisterious and at times will be mouthy.Lack of stability as such a tender age has left Billy not knowing what is expected of him. He is also a very young and energetic dog who is living in kennels, which of course adds to his excitement levels. He is very intelligent and is learning that this behaviour is unacceptable. He enjoys basic training and also picks up on new tricks quickly, he wants to please and has so much potential to thrive. Billy loves his people and can be very affectionate. We feel that Billy would benefit from being the only dog in the home. Although he is ok with dogs when out and about, he is overzealous when interacting with another dog and doesn’t listen when told off. His socialising skills is another thing that needs working on.If you are an active home, with adults only and are willing to commit to training, this fun and loving boy could be for you. He will no doubt be a challenge and the first few months will be hard work but we truly believe once he has settled and has stability, he will be wonderful! He is a real character and will bring a lot of love and laughter to a new family.

Buddy, a 6 years old male French Bulldog available for adoption from Foal Farm in Kent

Foal Farm

Buddy

Kent
SexMale
Age6 years
BreedFrench Bulldog

Meet our special lad Buddy. This handsome boy first came to Foal in June 2020, since then he has been in a couple of foster homes and he was in another home for nearly 18 months. He has always been a quirky boy and unfortunately has shown aggression which is why he has been returned.Buddy is by no means an easy boy but he has been with us for so long now and we do feel that we understand him and know his triggers. Any adopters would need to undergo introductions for a long time to get to know him and follow our guidance. It can take time to gain Buddy’s trust but he is a real character once you know him. He is playful, wants to please and enjoys training and he can be very affectionate.Out and about Buddy can be reactive towards both people and dogs but he has come on leaps and bounds and responds to training well. He is an anxious boy so we are also working with him to feel better about his anxieties and gain more confidence. He even has a few doggy friends that he enjoys to walk with.Previously Buddy has not coped with visitors to the home and is reactive towards them. He does guard his own space, therefore needs a hands off approach within the home.We are seeking an experienced adult only home for Buddy. He needs a quiet home with ideally one person but two at a maximum. With boundaries, clear guidance and consistency we do believe that he could settle in a home within the real world. If you would like to find out any more information about Buddy, please contact the dog team.

Chi, a 7 months old male Pomeranian available for adoption from Foal Farm in Kent

Foal Farm

Chi

Kent
SexMale
Age7 months
BreedPomeranian

Little Chi came to Foal through no fault of his own. This little lad is adorable, at just 7 months old he loves everyone and everything!Typical to his breed he can be vocal at times and as his world has been tipped upside down at a tender age, he will need training in all areas as well as socialising and confidence building. We are currently working with him to create grooming as a positive experience as this is something he will require regularly.Chi is still learning on how to socialise appropriately around other dogs without being too over the top in his greetings. He could potentially live with a calm established dog within the home pending on introductions at the farm. He could live within a family home with older children who are dog savvy and used to puppy characteristics, as he can still be a little mouthy at times. We are seeking adopters who are willing to invest time and effort into training Chi as well as putting boundaries in place so he can grow up to be a well mannered adult dog. He is a very loving boy who will make a wonderful companion.

Denny, a 5 years old male Crossbreed available for adoption from Foal Farm in Kent

Foal Farm

Denny

Kent
SexMale
Age5 years
BreedCrossbreed

Denny is looking for a new home to call his own. Denny is a lovely boy who adores his people, he is so loving and you couldn’t ask for a more affectionate dog.Although it can take time to gain his trust, he does accept new people quite quickly, especially with the help of treats! Once he trusts you, you have a friend for life who has so much love to give.Denny is a strong lad but with the help of a head collar his lead walking has improved massively and he’s very well behaved when out and about. We have done a lot of socialising and training around other dogs, Denny will walk alongside another dog with no problem however he doesn’t appreciate dogs who come into his personal space.Within the home he is a perfect house guest and mostly enjoys chilling with his family. He would benefit from having people who are home for most of the day as he doesn’t like being left for too long.Denny is longing for a family to call his own. Although he needs some training he is so much fun to be around, he’s keen to please and very clever too. He would repay you with so much love and trust.

Diesel, a 2 years old male Crossbreed available for adoption from Foal Farm in Kent

Foal Farm

Diesel

Kent
SexMale
Age2 years
BreedCrossbreed

Diesel came into our care with his brother Koda. This adorable but unusual looking lad is not a typical crossbreed. His mum was a Newfoundland cross Poodle and his dad was a Pug. The boys came into our care due to a change in their owner’s circumstances, we have decided that it is in best interest for the boys that we rehome them separately.Coming into kennels has been a big change for Diesel and he has coped very well although when meeting someone for the first time he can be a little unsure and vocal. With the help of some tasty treats, it doesn’t take very long until he is your new friend. Once he knows you, he’s a lovely boy who is very affectionate and loving.Due to previous family circumstances he has not always received the training that he needed. He has also always been around other dogs so he does need a lot of one to one work moving forward. He is just a youngster himself, he’s very excitable with a playful personality. We are seeking adopters who have the time to commit to settling Diesel into a new routine and sticking to a training plan to help him be more confident with new people and learn some self control as he is a big lad who can be bouncy at times.Diesel has been enjoying going for walks and exploring new areas however he can be reactive towards other dogs. He isn’t too sure on how to greet a new dog and he was previously living with various dogs where they were not all getting along and Diesel became defensive. He would be best suited as living as an only dog where he can receive all of the training and socialisation that he needs. We are seeking a pet free home for Diesel and would consider rehoming him with older children who are dog savvy due to his size and bouncy nature. Diesel has a lot of potential but he just needs a committed family to help him.

Ernie, a 4 years old male Bull Terrier available for adoption from Foal Farm in Kent

Foal Farm

Ernie

Kent
SexMale
Age4 years
BreedBull Terrier

This handsome chap is Ernie, unfortunately this lovely boy is also a very unlucky lad and we are really hoping that there is an adopter out there who can change Ernie’s luck!Back in November 2022, Ernie arrived to us as a 3 month old puppy, he had been found as a stray! Ernie was rehomed and a year later returned due to no fault of his own. We rehomed Ernie for the second time, he was an adolescent and although a lovely lad, he was a boisterous boy who needed a lot of training. Unfortunately, nearly 18 months later in April 2025 he was returned for a second time as his owner was struggling to give him what he needed.A year later and Ernie still has not found his forever home! Ernie was in our kennels up until November 2025 until one of our volunteers took him to their home into foster, to give him a break from kennel life. We don’t understand why Ernie has been overlooked for so long, he is very friendly with people, could live with a dog of a similar size and has so many wonderful qualities!Poor Ernie is just 3 and a half years old and within that time he has had 5 homes, including foster homes, so of course he has a few quirks! He has never had stability and Ernie deserves this and more.Within the home, Ernie is the perfect house guest. He is very chilled indoors, loves snoozing on the sofa and in the mornings you have to wake him up. He is housetrained, friendly with visitors and happy to be left in his own company for a few hours. Ernie is a very affectionate boy and is a real snuggle buddy, even though he is a very large lap dog!Ernie is a big lad and can be strong on lead at times, his high prey drive adds to this. He needs ongoing training on the lead and he has proven before that he can do this, but due to his disruptive life he has found it hard to maintain any training. Ernie’s excitement can get the better of him at times and in these moments he will become boisterous, jump up and mouths. With ongoing training and boundaries, Ernie will learn what is expected of him. Whilst he is very dog friendly and will walk alongside most dogs, he can be reactive to some dogs, especially those who bark at him first. Again, he has proven that with the correct training he will make the right choices and engage with his handler instead. Within play with other dogs, he doesn’t realise his size so would be best suited to living with a companion of a similar size.Considering the turbulent life Ernie has had, he remains a very sweet and loving boy who would love nothing more than a family of his own to commit to him. In turn you will have an incredibly loving companion who would love to be snuggled up under your blanket. Ernie will make the most wonderful addition to a new home, any children must be older and dog savvy due to his size and bouncy nature. Please get in touch with us if you think you could be the one to finally turn Ernie’s luck around.

Harley, a 7 years old female Cockapoo available for adoption from Foal Farm in Kent

Foal Farm

Harley

Kent
SexFemale
Age7 years
BreedCockapoo

Harley came into our care in June 2021, making her our longest resident. She has been rehomed several times but sadly gets returned due to her behaviour.Harley is a resource guarder and becomes protective over items she sees as hers. She can also have tantrums when she doesn’t get her own way. What we have learnt about Harley is that she is perfectly capable of living within a home environment when it is managed. The problem is that Harley can go for months without an episode, so the boundaries get relaxed far too soon for her. This is easy to do because Harley is good dog. She loves her walks, has brilliant recall, is good with other dogs and is as clever as they come. She just can’t seem to shake her aggressive outbursts. We are seeking a home for Harley, where she can have her own space. We understand Harley and her triggers and within the kennel environment her routine is structured and predictable for her. She copes well with this and we do not tend to see her aggression here. There is a chance Harley could remain as a sanctuary dog due to her behavioural issues however, we are always looking at forward options for our dogs and if there is an experienced home who have dealt with similar issues to Harley then of course we would explore these options. We receive so many applications for Harley and the majority haven’t completely read description, they are distracted by her photo and apply because she looks as though butter wouldn’t melt. She is a challenging dog, but she deserves a home as much as the others. We are ready to support anyone who is willing to stick to some basic rules and give her a home.

Please meet our Hunk of love! He came to Foal after he needed a rescue space, alongside 3 other dogs he had been seized under welfare after they had been abandoned.Hunk has been a little wary around some men but only within his kennel space. Out and about he has been friendly with everyone but he is very much a ladies man. Hunk is very sweet, friendly and affectionate. He has a lot of love to give however he has no concept of spatial awareness so he can be clumsy and boisterous at times. This lovely lad has a lot of character and everyone has fallen in love with him. He will need a family who are willing to commit to training as he does need to learn what self control means, especially as he is a big lad who can be strong at times. We are seeking an older family home for Hunk who have the time and patience to settle him into a new life. Ongoing training will be essential, he is keen to work for food and a tennis ball, he has a lot of potential. Hunk has tested well around dogs but can be intense at times, so we would like him to be the only dog in a new home where his family can work on socialisation.Hunk is a very lovely boy and with a committed family we are sure he will thrive in a new home.

Jacko came to Foal a few months ago. He had been bought online as a puppy and delivered to the door of the buyer! He then remained within the property for some months before coming to Foal so missed out on a lot of life experience.Understandably, Jacko found this new world quite overwhelming and was reactive to almost anything that moved. He went into foster with a staff member and was rehomed but has sadly come back into our care as the adopter struggled to fulfill the training he requires.Jacko is a clever boy and eager to please. With boundaries and guidance he is responding well to training and is already making significant progress. Being a Terrier he is a busy boy and requires an active home who are willing to fulfill his needs. Training will be supported by the dog team and we know that Jacko has the potential to succeed.Jacko is a very sweet and loving lad and could live in a family home with children who are used to dogs. Potential homes must be pet free.
