Brinkley

This little chap happened to be in the right place at exactly the right time.His hunter had bought him to the vet as he suspected he was deaf. When the vet confirmed it, the hunter no longer wanted him. Thankfully our wonderful foster Rosy also happened to be at the vets and said she would happily take him on. Who knows what might have happened if she wasn’t there.He’s a little shy initially but has started to come out of his shell and he loves to play with the many other dogs at the foster home. He also curls up and sleeps with another podenco called Jet. It is early days for Brinkley and he can feel unsure of himself when the foster leaves him at the house. He takes comfort from and enjoys having doggy companions. We are looking forward to seeing him blossom.As a deaf dog, Brinkley will learn to communicate through hand signals and visual cues rather than voice. He’ll need a calm, predicatable home where people will approach gently and avoid surprising him. Deaf dogs form wonderfully...
