Hi, I’m Gretchen, and I am currently in foster near Devon I was born in the fields in Cyprus with my siblings. We spent the first part of our lives outside, trying to survive on our own. Looking back, it is a miracle that we made it through the Cyprus winter without a home, without protection, and without anyone to keep us safe. All of my siblings have now found their homes, and I am the last one still waiting. Maybe that is because I have always been a little more reserved. I am a gentle girl with a curious nature, but I can be shy when I first meet new people. I like to watch, understand, and feel safe before I fully let myself trust. But now that I am in foster, I am already showing everyone that there is so much more to me. With patience, kindness and a calm routine, I am starting to come out of my shell. I am learning that people can be safe, homes can be warm, and hands can bring good things like treats, fuss and cuddles. And yes, I have already started going to ask for affectio...
