BreedWhippet x Lurcher

Beautiful Breeze came into our care as a stray from the pound. We don't know anything about her past but what we do know is that she's an absolute sweetheart! We believe that she is around 6 years old, and it is clear that she suffered in her previous life. Our vet confirmed that sadly, she was used over and over again for breeding and due to a poor diet and lifestyle, almost half of her teeth needed to be removed. Now that she has recovered from her surgery, she is ready to find her forever home.Despite her past traumas, Whippet X Lurcher Breeze is loving, affectionate and wants to be around her people as much as possible. She loves going for nice, long walks and then spending the rest of the day relaxing. Although she loves human company, she can be left for short periods and house training has gone very well so far in her foster home.Given her breed, she cannot live with cats or small furries. She has been happy to meet other dogs on walks, so we're happy to consider homes with other four-legged residents providing introductions are successful. We would be happy for Breeze to share her home with children over 8 years old. We're committed to finding Breeze the happy ever after she deserves. Please read my profile below to find out more. This sensitive chap is Gizmo. We’re looking for understanding and supportive owners that ideally have experience with rescue dogs as Gizmo is going to need a little help to settle back into pet life. The biggest thing that Gizmo struggles with is being left alone, so there will need to be multiple people in his new home to keep him company whilst he settles and help him to learn how to be home alone – or better yet never have to experience being on his own! He needs confidence building when out on walks, however inside, he is a bouncy, playful and cuddly boy who loves to be in your arms having fuss. We’ve found that Gizmo loves nothing more than routine as this helps him feel more confident, se we take him for walks, feed him, play with him, and spend time with him at the same time each day. The team here at the centre can advise on the best ways to set Gizmo and his new owners up for success. When out and about Gizmo prefers to avoid other dogs, however with time, patience and suitable calm dogs he can build up to making friends as he has done here at the centre. In his new home though, he will need to be the only pet as he will likely chase cats and isn’t suitable to live with other dogs as he will need to be the main focus for his owners. He would be best suited to live with adults and teenagers who can appreciate that underneath this worried exterior there is a super loving and cuddly dog just waiting to come out.If Gizmo sounds like the dog you’ve been searching for, please get in touch today!

More Information

Oxfordshire’s mix of historic towns, villages and countryside makes it well suited to a wide range of rescue dogs. Dogs adopted in the county are often matched with homes that can offer stability, routine and access to outdoor exercise. Many rescues covering Oxfordshire work with foster carers to assess how dogs cope with everyday home life before adoption. This careful approach helps ensure dogs are placed into environments where they can settle confidently and long term.
