UpdateNicol remains in boarding kennels, where she is doing incredibly well. All kennel staff and the behaviourist visiting describe her as a very good dog — friendly, social and easy with everyone she meets.We also now have a clearer understanding of what happened in her last short foster placement when Nicol attacked and injured old resident dog when owner was given that dog wrapped in food medication. This incident shocked us, as Nicol was always very friendly with all dogs on walks. According the behaviourist, who assessed the situation, just before the incidence Nicol was moved between multiple homes in a very short time, without proper time to decompress. There were constant changes in people, animals and routines. In one placement she was confined in a small crate and exposed to incorrect handling methods around food.
