Roo

Roo is a young boy who was was found wondering around the same neighbourhood for several months, looking for food. A rescuer took him in and offered a safe haven whilst he got his strength back. It was apparent that he has suffered mistreatment as he would lower his head head in fear and run away when approached. With time he realised that not all people would hurt him and his confidence grew and grew. What once seemed a frightening place was now viewed as a safe haven. As Roo’s confidence grew, he began to display some resource guarding behaviour and would chase away other dogs and cats! Because of his young age and new found confidence, it seems he was testing boundaries. He would benefit from a home where clear boundaries and consistent guidance are coupled with ongoing training to help him thrive. Roo would best suit an adult family and as the only companion in the home. His family must be commited to continue his training to help Roo to feel secure and settled.
