Meet Rosco, a sensitive boy looking for a calm, understanding home where he can be the only pet and feel secure. As a former stray with an anxious nature, he can find new environments overwhelming at first and may whine or pace while he settles. He bonds strongly with his people and is affectionate once he feels safe, but he’ll need a patient home who are used to large breeds. A secure garden would really benefit him for off-lead relaxation, though this can be flexible if owners are willing to use secure fields. He’s clean on lead and very food-motivated, which helps him learn quickly. He will need his time left alone to be built up very gradually, as separation is something he finds difficult. A crate gives him a great sense of security, and it’s highly recommended his new home provides one. He can be unsure with handling—particularly around his face—but is generally tolerant when approached carefully.
