Beau, Born 12/04/2014 Beau is an older gentleman who is looking for a quiet home with just females. (He is scared of men due to his past) He is looking for a new home because his owner sadly passed away, he is now living with the daughter but because of his nerviness around men he is not happy there. They have had him several months and would have loved to keep him if he was happy there. He still enjoys short walks but does like to sleep a lot and enjoys gentle affection once he is comfortable around you. He travels well in a car is house trained and enjoys the company of other dogs He is a medium sized crossbreed, smaller than a collie but a lot bigger than a Pomaraian. Beau is looking for a home direct from his home, to save him the stress of coming into kennels at his age . The process is the same as any of the animals in our care, once someone is approved we would put you in touch with his owner to arrange a meet and greet. Beau is fully vaccinated and neutered, he doesn't have many teeth left having had a dental to remove many rotten ones. He is not on any medication.

About Buddy Buddy is a handsome 6-year-old Black Labrador with a massive heart and a real "zest for life." Don't let his age fool you; he has the energy and enthusiasm of a much younger dog! He is currently looking for a new home directly from his current residence. The adoption process is the same as any dog in our care and a new owner will have the back up from Windyway if needed. Social Butterfly: He is extremely friendly and greets everyone with a warm welcome. Active & Bright: He loves his walks and has excellent recall off-lead, especially if you’re carrying his favourite treats. Family History: Buddy has grown up around children and loves being part of the fun. Because he is a bouncy, strong boy, he’d be best suited to a home with children who are comfortable with his "Labrador energy." Health & Peace of Mind Buddy was diagnosed with idiopathic epilepsy last summer. This is now well-controlled with medication, and he is otherwise a very healthy, happy dog. The Transferable Insurance Advantage: One of the best things about Buddy’s move is that his current insurance policy is fully transferable. This means his new owners can take over the policy and ensure his epilepsy and medication remain covered without the "pre-existing condition" exclusions usually found in new policies. Why he is moving To ensure Buddy stays in the best of health, his owners have made the difficult decision to find him a calmer, more predictable environment. He thrives on routine, and a quieter household will allow him to stay relaxed and seizure-free.

Charly, a 12 years old female Staffordshire Bull Terrier available for adoption from Windyway in Cheshire

Windyway

Charly

Cheshire
SexFemale
Age12 years
BreedStaffordshire Bull Terrier

Charley, born 18.09.2014 Charley is a black female Staffie cross possibility crossed with a breed similar to a whippet. She is looking for a home directly from her home because she wouldn't cope in the kennel environment due to her separation anxiety. If you are interested in adopting her please fill in the application form and the process will be the same as any of the dogs in our care. Once an application is approved and we feel it may be a suitable home for Charley we would then put you in touch with her owner to arrange to meet her. Charley is looking for a home due to unforeseen changes in the household meaning she is now having to be left on her own during the day which causes her to get very stressed. Charley has been in the same home since 2018 when she was adopted from another rescue centre where she was taken in as a stray. She is a very loving dog and loves to lick you and sit with you. She is full of life and energy. She is toilet trained and good in the house when someone is there but will be destructive if left due to her anxiety. She is particularly scared of fireworks and loud bangs. She is looking for a home where someone would be able to be with her all time to keep her company. She is spayed and fully vaccinated. She is currently taking calming medication prescribed by the vets to help while she's having to be left. This may be able to be reduced once she has settled in a new home. She has also had a blood test because she was losing weight and everything came back clear, so the weight loss was put down to anxiety

George, a 11 years old male Crossbreed available for adoption from Windyway in Cheshire

Windyway

George

Cheshire
SexMale
Age11 years
BreedCrossbreed

George was born in November 2015 and has been at Windyway since March 2019 following the death of his original owner. Her son attempted to look after George but a social worker intervened when he couldn't cope and kept George tied up in the kitchen. George absolutely adores his squeaky toys but can get over excited and get a bit rough and mouthy which, coupled with a dislike of other dogs, can make him challenging to take out. He is quite a character and needs a very experienced adopter who can manage his behaviour and who wouldn't want long walks or to socialise with other dogs. He would need to be the only pet in the home and can not live with children. He is good to be groomed with care. George needs very careful handling and so we will need to be certain that whoever adopts him has understood how to manage him and is up to the challenge. He has been returned from adoption previously due to snapping at people and dogs he met on walks. George is neutered, chipped, vaccinated and kept up to date with flea and worm control. He also has a condition called short ulna syndrome which affects his elbows and he's on anti inflammatory medication for this. He does sometimes go lame on his back legs but the vet thinks this is as a result of putting more emphasis on them when his elbows hurt. He is on regular medication and joint supplements. In the last few months of 2025 George has begun to mellow a little, becoming more open to being introduced to new people. However the original criteria of a child and pet free home still stands. Applicants will be considered on the basis of their home environment (no children or other animals) and we will also need an excellent vet reference or prior home check report from ourselves or another reputable rescue organisation. If veterinary fees would be the stumbling block please do still enquire as there may be support available at the discretion of the Windyway Trustees.

Maxx, a 7 years old male Staffordshire Bull Terrier available for adoption from Windyway in Cheshire

Windyway

Maxx

Cheshire
SexMale
Age7 years
BreedStaffordshire Bull Terrier

Meet Maxx, our spirited and cheerful boy, born in March 2019, who's still in search of his forever home. Maxx is a Staffie cross, brimming with enthusiasm and intelligence. He's already been neutered, chipped, and vaccinated and is ready for adoption. Maxx thrives in an environment where he can channel his energy into play and training sessions. He's a remarkable pup, and he's looking for an experienced owner who's ready to be his guiding star. His previous journey brought him to us due to some issues with an older dog in the house, especially during mealtime. This lovable boy needs to be the sole pet in the household, and we will only consider applications from homes without children. We believe in Maxx's potential, and we've been diligently working on his impulse control with the help of behaviourists and trainers. He was returned from an earlier adoption due to hard mouthing when over-excited. We are pleased to say he's made excellent progress with his impulse control and is a more settled dog today. He's eager to learn, making him an ideal match for someone with a training background or experience in supporting a dog with higher needs. Our behaviourist had this to say about Maxx: "He has the potential to shine in any dog sport or activity, provided he's given the opportunity. Maxx thrives with a job to do and is quick to learn. He's the perfect companion for anyone passionate about dog training!" If you believe you could be the one to help Maxx reach his full potential, please complete our electronic application form with your details and share your previous experience. We'll also connect you with our behaviourist to ensure it's a perfect fit before moving forward. Maxx's story is one of promise and potential; let's help him find his happy ending.
