Dexter is a truly gorgeous boy with a big heart, and nothing makes him happier than curling up for cuddles with his favourite humans. His family have made the difficult decision to rehome him after welcoming a new baby, and they feel he would thrive in a home where someone has more time and attention to offer him. He is described as a gentle, affectionate softy with the people he knows and trusts. However, Dexter can find strangers—both inside and outside the home—quite overwhelming and is reactive. Because of this, any potential adopter should expect that it may take several introductions before he feels safe and comfortable. With patience, understanding, and the right management, he does settle. Dexter is also reactive to other dogs on walks. He has already made progress with the support of a behaviourist, and he’ll need someone willing to continue this work in his new home.
