Some of you will remember Ernie—he arrived with us as a tiny puppy, his femur shattered, his future uncertain.Ernie has absolutely blossomed since his operation and recovery, thanks to a lot of support from his amazing foster mum. He’s come on so well in foster — genuinely a different dog in all the best ways.He’s sociable, friendly and playful, and he slots beautifully into his foster mum’s day care with other well‑socialised, kind dogs. His confidence has grown, and he’s now a relaxed, happy, very loved member of the pack. As expected for his breed, he does have herding tendencies. He’ll need livestock securely fenced off and shouldn’t be loose around poultry or livestock unless more work is done with him. The same goes for cats — his instincts kick in and he’ll try a little nip‑nudge if he thinks you’re not paying attention. None of this is unusual for him, it just needs management and the right home. He listens brilliantly to commands and is an absolute joy to be around. He’s smart...
