A year ago Ace was a loving boy great with everything from meeting new people, to children and other animals. Sadly after an incident occurred with a drunk stranger out on a walk 6 months ago, Ace became very fearful to anyone he encountered. Something his previous owner wasn’t prepared for or able to manage. Ace is a typical pocket rocket – full of beans and makes us laugh every day! Since coming to us Ace has slowly come out of his shell and is now a different dog. He longs for affection, is very friendly with people he meets and loves his walks with our volunteers. Despite all the improvement and new friends he’s made, Ace will need a child and pet free home. His new owners will need to give him time & patience to decompress and help him love life again! If you feel you can be Ace’s special someone then please get in touch. He is such a lovely boy who really just needs some love, tlc and reassurance after such a traumatic time. We have no doubt Ace will then give you so much back in return. Ace is currently in a foster home on the Wirral

Meet gorgeous Aloy (emphasis on the A, not like ā€˜alloy’…she’s not a wheel!), she’s an absolute sweetie-pie melting hearts on the block! Aloy is gentle, friendly and fun…sometimes surprises us with a zoomie, but prefers to stay calm and collected most of the time! And she loves a cuddle or twelve! She’s fine being left alone in the house for short periods, to be built up gradually in a new home. She gets on well with the other super-snoots here although isn’t a huge fan of small, titchy dogs, they just don’t measure up! And don’t look too long into her beautiful dark eyes if you’re not serious about taking her home…she’ll melt you!

Skylors Animal Rescue

Amelia

Wales
SexFemale
Age5 years
BreedSoft Coated Wheaten Terrier

Amelia has just come into our care and gone straight into foster with Julia and Mei along with Emma another Terrier cross we have rescued. They are not siblings they are 2 totally different dogs but both rescued from the same are. Poor Amelia has not had the best start to life. She’s a little shy but does love cuddles. She is good with other dogs. Amelia is slightly overweight but with a controlled diet and some exercise she will slim down and get fitter. She walks ok on lead but will benefit from some general training and lead work. Amelia would benefit from a calm home so children over 8 and must have another dog in the home which would be nice for her. Due to her not setting without another dog. No cats or small furries. We will add more about her as she settles in with her foster parents. If you'd like to offer Amelia a forever home, please fill in our online application form. If you’re successful you will receive an email from us (please check your spam), have a home check, then we invite you to meet the dog.

Amos, a 5 years old male Greyhound available for adoption from SWW Greyhound Trust in Wales

Amos

Wales
SexMale
Age5 years
BreedGreyhound

Here’s Amos, a super friendly, super waggy handsome fella looking for just 3 things in life…fuss, fuss & FUSS! Oh, and if you can throw in a sofa too, he’ll be so chuffed! He loves attention and will happily take fuss all day long. Amos is a playful, happy chap who loves his squeaky toys. He’s not allowed squeaky toys here as it drives all the other long dogs bonkers in their kennels, so we’re desperate to get him homed so he can enjoy them again! If he gets a little too excited he can forget his manners and be a little mouthy, this should improve with a little training and settling into a routine but we’d recommend homing him with adults and older children. Amos gets on great with the other noodles on the block and loves a good runaround. He’s not so keen on smaller dogs and will need further socialisation here. He could live as an only dog with an experienced owner, or as part of a household with other similar dogs. Yes, he needs a bit of work and some training in a few areas (who doesn’t?!), but most of all, this fun, happy boy just needs a chance. He really is a smasher Could you be the person that brings squeaky toys back into Amos’s life? He’ll love you forever!

Apollo

Wales
SexMale
Age7 months
BreedCane Corso

Some of you may remember Apollo from 2024, after being locked away in a cupboard at 7 months old we stepped in and saved him offering him a much needed second chance! Apollo was rehomed, but sadly due to an incident with a young child he was returned to us. More information on this will be given to anyone interested, but moving forward he will need an adult only home. Within his last home it was reported that Apollo had become stranger reactive, but this isn’t something we’ve seen within the rescue so far. He’s meeting more & more volunteers with no issues, though he does take time for his true personality to shine through. Apollo loves his walks, often getting zoomies on the grass and won’t say no to a treat. He’s super affectionate and loveable once he’s bonded with you, which doesn’t take long, you’ll then have a loyal friend for life! We’re looking for a Cane Corso experienced home preferably that has the time & patience to help continue with Apollo’s training & socialisation. We’re also aware that he has lived with other dogs previously so pending successful introductions he could live with another large breed.

Archie 2, a 5 years old male Pointer available for adoption from GSP Rescue UK in Wales

GSP Rescue UK

Archie 2

Wales
SexMale
Age5 years
BreedPointer

April 2026 Archie is a very handsome 5 year old male who’s finding life with two children under 3 years and a house move, very stressful. His owners feel that the household has become too loud and chaotic for him and they no longer have the time to constantly redirect and exhaust him with canine enrichment activities . Archie has shown obsessive behaviours with the need to chase the light reflections (e.g. sunlight coming through the curtains, reflection from a phone or metal, etc.). He whines and jumps at them, sometimes barking. They think it was triggered by a laser their son was playing with in a car, but this only lasted 5 minutes until they realised it was causing an issue, so are only guessing that this could be to blame. He is raw fed due to allergies according to a specialist, but he only ever tested for environmental factors. It’s believed that he’s allergic to dust mites and this improved massively when his owners changed the carpets to hard floors. Archie is fine to be left for a few hours with access to the hallway and landings and after exercise he happily snoozes on his bed. He is fine at home with a cat but will chase out in a walk. With other dogs on a walk he can be unpredictable, most of the time he is okay but his owner doesn’t let him engage in play as he can take it too far on times. He has a good recall to his owner and to his dog walker 3 short whistles/peeps with one long one to lay down. He also knows sit, down, touch and catch. Ocassionally, he won't like a dog his owner explains and particularly disliked a Vizsla that used to live near them. Since he was a puppy Archie has been living with young children aged 3 months, 2 years and 11 years, when the children are around he gets very over excited starts barking and chasing looking anxious. Archie has stayed with family members who were older and calmer and he thrived, he was more relaxed and settled quickly. With this in mind we will be looking for a calmer child free home - possibly with visiting children, potentially home workers or part time workers. A week ago Archie tore his tendon so is spending time resting/healing in his crate. The vets have considered giving him a mild sedative to relax him while he’s resting because of his light/shadow fixation. If you feel you could offer this handsome fella a calmer environment please contact us. Archie is currently in the Oxford area and will be rehomed with his 5 weeks free Agria insurance and his Adoption Contract. GSP Rescue UK Terms and Conditions apply

Arctic, a 7 years old female Pomeranian available for adoption from Many Tears Animal Rescue in Wales

Arctic

Wales

BreedPomeranian

Arctic has come to us from a breeder in search of her very first home. She was adopted for a short period of time but has since found her way back to us as the home was not quite the right fit. Although the adoption was unsuccessful, it did help Arctic gain some confidence, which has been a huge milestone for her.Arctic is a worried little lady who was extremely frightened when she was initially adopted. Since returning to us, however, we have seen a significant improvement in her confidence. While she remains an anxious dog, she is trying her very best to be brave and continues to make steady progress. She is still very worried about handling and can become overwhelmed if pushed too far, and may make a wrong decision, so any interactions with her must be done at her pace. She will now allow handling when approached calmly and gently, but she will need understanding adopters who are willing to continue building her trust over the long term.Because of her sensitive nature, Arctic is looking for a calm and quiet adult-only home with adopters who have experience with nervous ex-breeding dogs. She has always taken great comfort from the company of other dogs and relies heavily on them for reassurance. Arctic must be rehomed with at least two kind and confident resident dogs who can help guide her through life in a home environment. While she enjoys canine company, she does have quite a strong personality and can be a little bossy at times, so her future doggy friends will need to be tolerant of her occasional princess-like tendencies.Apart from her brief adoption, Arctic has never lived in a home before, so many aspects of family life will still be new to her. She will need continued support with house training, lead walking, and learning that the world is not such a scary place. With time, patience and consistency, we are confident she will continue to grow in confidence and develop into a happier dog.Over the time she has spent back with us, Arctic has blossomed into a little princess who is ready to be spoiled as she deserves. Although she may never be the type of dog who wants to curl up on your lap, she has already shown how much progress she is capable of making. With a gentle and experienced home, we are sure she will continue moving forwards and gaining confidence.Arctic has some fur loss, which we hope will improve following her spay and with plenty of TLC. She also has an enlarged mammary gland, but our vets are not concerned about this at present. In addition, she is currently receiving treatment for sore skin on her backend. These conditions will be considered pre-existing and are therefore unlikely to be covered by standard pet insurance policies.Arctic is a sweet and sensitive little Pom who simply needs understanding, patience and time. With a peaceful home, plenty of love, and a supportive group of canine companions by her side, we believe she will continue to come out of her shell and show just how far she can go. For the right family, helping Arctic on her journey will be an incredibly rewarding experience.Arctic has been given the Gift of Life by Laura Woods

Ariel is a sweet and affectionate female 5 year old dog for adoption, who is looking for her loving active family.Ariel is an active youngster who loves her walks in the countryside and loves to play and bounce around – she adores being around people, Ariel is very gentle so can suit living with dog savvy kids and another dog if introductions go well. She needs a home in a peaceful setting away from busy towns or cities with access to a garden and would enjoy company for most of the day. Ariel settles nicely and travels well in the car, and loves to go out for walks – she’s a brisk walker so will definitely help her Guardian get their steps in! She is very affectionate and loves to cuddle with people she knows, yet she is still nervous of new people and situations, so will need a few visits to get to know her new family.Ariel still needs some work with her recall as when off lead she gets so focused on what she is doing, she becomes ā€˜deaf’ to being called, yet when she does finally hear us, she becomes super excited and apologetic as if saying ā€˜ohh, were you calling me?!’ so off-lead training is and will be a must for her, as although people oriented, she is easily distracted. She loves to play with other dogs, often inviting play with a bow and cheeky bouncing. In summary, Ariel is a really delightful, good all round dog, who, with just a little bit of training, will absolutely blossom with a new loving family.BackgroundAll of our dogs have lived their whole lives in family groups in an open space, kennel free environment and it is therefore a shock for them to leave all that they know. For this reason, we require Ariel’s new family to either have an existing resident dog or work from home so she has company through out the day.Sorry, your browser doesn't support embedded videos.NameArielBasic Info5 yrs old (born January 2019)GenderFemale – spayedApprox Weight20kgCan Live WithDogs, ChildrenLocationCrymych, Wales, UKWould SuitActive family with another dogHome RequirementsAway from town centreA family with time available to teach ArielA peaceful homeA home with gardenEnquire About ArielAdopting a dog is a life-changing decision for both the dog and their new family – our experienced volunteers are on hand to support and advise, every step of the way. We provide full advice and support as standard for anyone who is new to rawfeeding dogs or holistic priniciples.Homecheck by your chosen dog applies to see if she likes her new home! Our Dog Adoption process involves several visits to get to know your dog, and for your dog to get to know you, so that the rehoming is not a shock away from all that she knows and is simply a natural transition to her new family. We find that this helps our rescue dogs to settle into their new home with less stress and anxiety and makes for much more successful adoptions. For this reason, we only rehome within travelling distance of our base in West Wales at the moment. Full lifetime rescue backup and adoption contract applies, so if for any reason our dog is not suitable or circumstances change, we require the dog to be returned to us.** We are just a very small team here in the UK, so we currently prioritize adopters within travelling distance of our base in West Wales, due to the practicalities of journey times for post-adoption back-up and support from our sanctuary. We apologize if this leads to disappointment, however we have found through experience that more local dog adoptions do not overstretch our limited resources. I could tell Arthur was looking for an outing by the dainty twirls he was doing in his kennel! Arthur was a fabulous companion on our walk. He walked well on the lead, was calm & gentle, and very friendly. Arthur enjoyed a good old sniffari in the field. We didn’t have any other noodles with us, but he’s happy having a runaround with his pals and also fine walking past titchy, tiny dogs…but might not want to live with one! He is good in the house and is able to be left alone, with this being built up gradually in any new home. This friendly fella was an absolute peach to hang out with and will make some lucky sausage a lovely pal!
