Ace, a 6 months old male Pocket Bully available for adoption from Celandine Wood in Wales

Ace

Wales
SexMale
Age6 months
BreedPocket Bully

A year ago Ace was a loving boy great with everything from meeting new people, to children and other animals. Sadly after an incident occurred with a drunk stranger out on a walk 6 months ago, Ace became very fearful to anyone he encountered. Something his previous owner wasn’t prepared for or able to manage. Ace is a typical pocket rocket – full of beans and makes us laugh every day! Since coming to us Ace has slowly come out of his shell and is now a different dog. He longs for affection, is very friendly with people he meets and loves his walks with our volunteers. Despite all the improvement and new friends he’s made, Ace will need a child and pet free home. His new owners will need to give him time & patience to decompress and help him love life again! If you feel you can be Ace’s special someone then please get in touch. He is such a lovely boy who really just needs some love, tlc and reassurance after such a traumatic time. We have no doubt Ace will then give you so much back in return. Ace is currently in a foster home on the Wirral

Ajax, a 6 years old male Jack Russell Terrier available for adoption from Dogs Trust in Wales

Ajax

Wales

BreedJack Russell Terrier

Are you right for Ajax?Meet gorgeous boy, Ajax! Ajax is a 7-year old Jack Russell angel, looking for his forever home! Ajax has had a bit of a hard time in kennels so far, so would love a family who can give him all the time, patience and love to settle in at his own pace. Ajax would prefer to be the only dog but could live with a calm, well mannered dog pending a successful meet in the centre. Ajax enjoys a little fuss on his own terms once he has gotten to know you, but can be timid initially so would prefer for all children in the home to be 16yrs+. Ajax needs an understanding, quieter home where he can build his confidence and build a bond with his people. He is happy to do nice parallel walks with quieter, low energy dogs but still likes his own space. He is a super sweet, cute, angelic boy who is really missing his home comforts and can't wait to have his own little sofa to curl up on.Is Ajax right for you?Ajax is a sweet little man with a gentle nature. He would prefer for his people to be at home with him for the majority of the time while he settles into a new home, and leaving hours to be built up slowly. He walks beautifully on lead and does enjoy a short potter around where he can take in all the sights and sniffs. Ajax would prefer a quieter environment as louder noises can be quite spooky, and he is quite a sensitive lad so would prefer an area that's not too busy with traffic or people while he settles in. We can't wait to see this lovely gentleman enjoy his golden years feeling loved - as he deserves to be!

Alfie, a 4 years old male Lakeland Terrier available for adoption from Many Tears Animal Rescue in Wales

Alfie

Wales
SexMale
Age4 years
BreedLakeland Terrier

Alfie is a very sweet boy who has come to us from a home after his owner could no longer care for him. We are told that he has always lived as an only dog, although he did have a brief trial in a home with another dog. During that time, it became clear that Alfie can become very attached to his people and may guard them from other dogs, as he prefers to keep his chosen humans to himself. Because of this, he will be looking for a home where he can be the only dog and enjoy all the love and attention without having to share. He does enjoy meeting other dogs out on walks and can socialise well outside the home, but he prefers not to share his living space or people.Alfie is a working breed type, so he would be best suited to adopters with previous experience of similar breeds who understand his needs and can provide him with plenty of both mental and physical stimulation. He loves being out and about and thrives when he has structure and activities to focus on.He is currently working on a training plan to help with his car reactivity, which is going really well. Each day he is taken out 3–4 times for short training sessions. He is given a few minutes to run around and burn off energy, and then we focus on structured training using ā€œAlfie sit,ā€ ā€œwatch,ā€ followed by treat rewards and praise. These sessions last around 10 minutes each time, and he is proving to be a very intelligent boy who is learning quickly and responding really well to the routine.Alfie walks well on the lead overall, though he can still pull at times and may react to passing cars, so this will need ongoing, consistent training in his new home. Once he knows you, he absolutely loves fuss and attention and forms strong, loyal bonds with his people. He would benefit from adopters who have plenty of time to spend with him and who are happy to continue building his confidence and reinforcing positive behaviours. We would consider homing him with older, dog-savvy teenagers who will allow him to settle at his own pace and respect his space when needed. We are told that he can sometimes bark when left alone, so his adopters will need to gradually build up any time he is left as he settles into his new home.As he has previously lived in a home, we believe he is house trained, although he may need some reminders during his settling-in period.Alfie will need a secure garden with fencing of at least 6ft to ensure he is kept safe.Alfie will make a wonderful addition to a loving home that is willing to give him plenty of attention and continue working with him on his training and behaviours. He has arrived to us with a docked tail.

20-04-26 Alice is a beautiful girl who has come to us from a breeder to find her forever home. At the moment she is a scared girl who is finding everything quite overwhelming. Once you spend some time with her she does start to come out of her shell, but she will need lots of love and TLC as she settles in.She will be looking for a calm and quiet home where she can settle in at her own pace. She will need at least one other kind and confident resident dog to take her under her wing and help her learn that the world isn't so scary.Alice isn't used to being touched or handled at the moment and finds this quite worrying, so will need kind and understanding adopters. She has never lived in a home environment before, so her adopters will need to support her as she adjusts to everyday life, including learning all about house training and how to walk on a lead.Alice is sweet girl who is simply looking for a loving home where she can feel safe, build her confidence, and be given all the patience and love she truly deserves.Alice has come to us with generalized alopecia all over, that should grow back with time. Aloy

Meet gorgeous Aloy (emphasis on the A, not like ā€˜alloy’…she’s not a wheel!), she’s an absolute sweetie-pie melting hearts on the block! Aloy is gentle, friendly and fun…sometimes surprises us with a zoomie, but prefers to stay calm and collected most of the time! And she loves a cuddle or twelve! She’s fine being left alone in the house for short periods, to be built up gradually in a new home. She gets on well with the other super-snoots here although isn’t a huge fan of small, titchy dogs, they just don’t measure up! And don’t look too long into her beautiful dark eyes if you’re not serious about taking her home…she’ll melt you!

Amos, a 5 years old male Greyhound available for adoption from SWW Greyhound Trust in Wales

Amos

Wales
SexMale
Age5 years
BreedGreyhound

Here’s Amos, a super friendly, super waggy handsome fella looking for just 3 things in life…fuss, fuss & FUSS! Oh, and if you can throw in a sofa too, he’ll be so chuffed! He loves attention and will happily take fuss all day long. Amos is a playful, happy chap who loves his squeaky toys. He’s not allowed squeaky toys here as it drives all the other long dogs bonkers in their kennels, so we’re desperate to get him homed so he can enjoy them again! If he gets a little too excited he can forget his manners and be a little mouthy, this should improve with a little training and settling into a routine but we’d recommend homing him with adults and older children. Amos gets on great with the other noodles on the block and loves a good runaround. He’s not so keen on smaller dogs and will need further socialisation here. He could live as an only dog with an experienced owner, or as part of a household with other similar dogs. Yes, he needs a bit of work and some training in a few areas (who doesn’t?!), but most of all, this fun, happy boy just needs a chance. He really is a smasher Could you be the person that brings squeaky toys back into Amos’s life? He’ll love you forever!

Angel's Notes:Angel is a sweet girl who was understandably very nervous when she first came to us after being handed in as a stray, unfortunately nobody has come forward to claim her so she is now looking for her forever home.We did manage to get some more info about her from a member of the public which has given us an insight into her background, unfortunately, her past is a sad one. She did recently find a home but was sadly returned a couple of days later due to the owner struggling to manage her when she got overexcited and started heavily mouthing. This beautiful girl requires plenty of patience and understanding after all she has been through. She is an extremely loving girl once she gets to know you and loves to give you lots of cuddles! Due to mistreatment when she was younger she can be unsure of new people initially, especially of men but but can be won around quite easily once she knows that you are not going to hurt her. She has sadly had quite a hard life up to now with no stability, and would really benefit from a home with people who will be dedicated to her and her socialisation.Angel absolutely loves running around playing with toys, especially tennis balls! She is an energetic girl and will require plenty of physical exercise and mental stimulation in order to meet her needs. She would be the perfect running partner/adventure buddy for someone! We have been introducing her to other dogs and she seems to get on with them really well out and about, she can potentially live with another dog as long as introductions went well here at the rescue. Due to her being a timid girl, she is looking for a home with sensible older teenagers. We really hope that the right home comes along for her soon as she is struggling with kennel life.

Angus, a 2 years old male Crossbreed available for adoption from North Clwyd Animal Rescue in Wales

Angus's Notes:Angus is a handsome lad who originally came into our care as a stray and no one came forward to claim him, we did manage to find him a new home but he has sadly come back due to being too much for his owner. He is now looking for a new home and we hope he finds a suitable active home soon as he is a friendly lad who is sadly struggling with kennel life.Angus is friendly and likes to meet people and is always very interested in his surroundings, he will make a great adventure buddy for someone as he is quite confident and loves being out and about walking. He can be quite strong on the lead here and will require ongoing training to help with this but we also feel he will calm down quite a lot once he is out of kennels and is getting a lot of exercise. Angus likes running and sniffing in our secure paddocks, at the moment he doesn’t have any recall so he will require training in a few areas and will thrive in a home with owners who have the time to dedicate to him. He is looking for a home with sensible teenagers 14+. He is looking for a home with 6ft fences in the garden and he will need to be supervised when let out there as he did turn out to be a bit of an escape artist when he first went to his previous home. He is looking for a home where he won’t be left alone much as he thrives on human company. In his previous home he would get quite barky when he saw other dogs, this isn’t a behaviour he displays here at the rescue much and we do think with the right owners this will improve. He is looking to be the only pet in the home but with continued socialisation out and about. We hope a suitable home comes along soon for this handsome boy!can live with older childrenfriendly with strangerscan't live with dogscan't live with young children

Apollo, a 7 months old male Cane Corso available for adoption from Celandine Wood in Wales

Apollo

Wales
SexMale
Age7 months
BreedCane Corso

Some of you may remember Apollo from 2024, after being locked away in a cupboard at 7 months old we stepped in and saved him offering him a much needed second chance! Apollo was rehomed, but sadly due to an incident with a young child he was returned to us. More information on this will be given to anyone interested, but moving forward he will need an adult only home. Within his last home it was reported that Apollo had become stranger reactive, but this isn’t something we’ve seen within the rescue so far. He’s meeting more & more volunteers with no issues, though he does take time for his true personality to shine through. Apollo loves his walks, often getting zoomies on the grass and won’t say no to a treat. He’s super affectionate and loveable once he’s bonded with you, which doesn’t take long, you’ll then have a loyal friend for life! We’re looking for a Cane Corso experienced home preferably that has the time & patience to help continue with Apollo’s training & socialisation. We’re also aware that he has lived with other dogs previously so pending successful introductions he could live with another large breed.

Apollo, a 9 years old male Whippet available for adoption from Greyhound Rescue Wales in Wales

These boys deserve a home as wonderful as their big hearts. They are an absolute joy to have around and would definitely suit a home where their humans are nearby. They can be left alone for short periods and are more than happy enjoying each other’s company with no issues at all. They are fully housetrained, although they do require a little encouragement to go out if it’s raining! They are early risers and absolutely LOVE their food — they will definitely let you know when it’s mealtime. Aside from that, they are happy, gentle boys who love nothing more than sofa snuggles. Their favourite thing is being on the bed with their humans and they will very happily take the offer of being under the covers if allowed. They are a delight to walk on the lead. Off lead they tend to stay nearby, although their recall does need a bit of work. The good news is that they are very food motivated, so with some dedicated training this shouldn’t take long at all. There has been some occasional counter surfing, so as with most sighthounds, food left on the edge of the counter is definitely a risk! Apollo is a little more timid, quiet and reserved — the sweetest boy. Axel is the more confident one and adores a fuss as much as humanly possible. They are polite with other dogs, although they can sometimes get a little excited when sniffing. With a bit of continued training this won’t be an issue, and could happily live with other canine companions, or having lots of walking buddies! They travel well and wait politely to get in and out of the car. They don’t currently play with toys; we’ve introduced them slowly, but they’re far more interested in cuddles and being close to their people than anything else. Enquire to Adopt Apollo Enquiry Form

Archie 2, a 5 years old male Pointer available for adoption from GSP Rescue UK in Wales

GSP Rescue UK

Archie 2

Wales
SexMale
Age5 years
BreedPointer

April 2026 Archie is a very handsome 5 year old male who’s finding life with two children under 3 years and a house move, very stressful. His owners feel that the household has become too loud and chaotic for him and they no longer have the time to constantly redirect and exhaust him with canine enrichment activities . Archie has shown obsessive behaviours with the need to chase the light reflections (e.g. sunlight coming through the curtains, reflection from a phone or metal, etc.). He whines and jumps at them, sometimes barking. They think it was triggered by a laser their son was playing with in a car, but this only lasted 5 minutes until they realised it was causing an issue, so are only guessing that this could be to blame. He is raw fed due to allergies according to a specialist, but he only ever tested for environmental factors. It’s believed that he’s allergic to dust mites and this improved massively when his owners changed the carpets to hard floors. Archie is fine to be left for a few hours with access to the hallway and landings and after exercise he happily snoozes on his bed. He is fine at home with a cat but will chase out in a walk. With other dogs on a walk he can be unpredictable, most of the time he is okay but his owner doesn’t let him engage in play as he can take it too far on times. He has a good recall to his owner and to his dog walker 3 short whistles/peeps with one long one to lay down. He also knows sit, down, touch and catch. Ocassionally, he won't like a dog his owner explains and particularly disliked a Vizsla that used to live near them. Since he was a puppy Archie has been living with young children aged 3 months, 2 years and 11 years, when the children are around he gets very over excited starts barking and chasing looking anxious. Archie has stayed with family members who were older and calmer and he thrived, he was more relaxed and settled quickly. With this in mind we will be looking for a calmer child free home - possibly with visiting children, potentially home workers or part time workers. A week ago Archie tore his tendon so is spending time resting/healing in his crate. The vets have considered giving him a mild sedative to relax him while he’s resting because of his light/shadow fixation. If you feel you could offer this handsome fella a calmer environment please contact us. Archie is currently in the Oxford area and will be rehomed with his 5 weeks free Agria insurance and his Adoption Contract. GSP Rescue UK Terms and Conditions apply
