Permanent Shelter Dog Joey arrived at Arundawn from a pound in the North on the 7th of February 2016. He was born in March 2015 and for the first 9 months of his life, had a very difficult time.Joey and his siblings were born into ‘rescue’ in Scotland. After a catastrophic start to their lives they were supposedly hand reared, separated, placed into foster homes, rehomed and in Joey’s case ended up in a pound kennels in the north of England not once, but twice all before he was 8 months old. Sadly, by this time two of his siblings had already lost their lives as a result of the damage caused during their early months. Joey was no exception and had also suffered badly. He had no manners, no social skills and was on the cusp of going ‘badly wrong’. He was scared of everything and didn't even know how to play with toys. We realised he would be a long-term project.
