Are you right for Alfie?Eight-year-old Alfie is a handsome Collie with a gentle, calm character and a lot of love to give. He’s hopeful to find patient adopters, who will give him the time he needs to settle into his new routine and allow him to show his fun, confident side. Alfie is a real ‘foodie’ and highly values his mealtimes and chews. He appreciates space around his food and feels more comfortable when he can enjoy mealtimes without interruption. Alfie has worked closely with the team around feeding times and loves to show off his skills. He will do best with a family who are happy to continue this in the home. Alfie loves walking with doggy friends but is looking to be the only dog in his new home, and is looking for an adult only home. He would also really benefit from a garden of his own.Is Alfie right for you?Alfie thrives with a gentle, understanding approach to handling and care. He builds strong bonds with his people, and becomes increasingly affectionate as that connection grows. Once Alfie is settled at home, his playful side will begin to shine, and he’ll enjoy interacting with you over a game of fetch or tug. His favourite pastimes include relaxing on his own with a chew, sniffy walks in rural areas, paddling in the water, playtime in the garden, and spending quality time with his most-loved people. Alfie is a very clever boy and he knows multiple toys by name! She is rising 5 years old. She is good with older children and dogs but is not cat friendly. Her owner feels that she would benefit from living with another older, calmer dog. She is a cuddle bunny and loves nothing more than snuggling up on the sofa with you or sleeping next to the radiator/fire if available.​Amber is a beautiful, loving dog and companion and ideally suited to a home with a garden that she can lay and sunbathe during the lazy sunny days or just take herself out for a wander round it.​She is active and loves long country walks, a car ride but isn't keen on a stony beach. ​​If you are interested in helping Amber please fill in one of our forms.​

Angus is a gentle, loving soul that gets on well with all other pets such as dogs, cats, rabbits and guinea pigs. He's very lazy and calm, loves children and walks brilliantly on the lead. He would be fine missing a day's walk if you're very busy.

Are you right for Apollo?Apollo is a lively two-year-old crossbreed with a big zest for life, looking for an active home that can match her energy. She would love living with a family who enjoy getting out for long walks, exploring new places, and giving her plenty of daily exercise. A home with access to a secure garden would be best, where Apollo can stretch her legs and continue her good house training routine. She could happily live with primary school aged children and would suit a home in a quieter town, residential area, or on the outskirts of a city, as she can handle short periods around busier roads but prefers a calmer base. She’s comfortable with car travel and is happy to have regular visitors to the house, once she’s had a moment to settle. While she enjoys socialising with other dogs out and about, she’d prefer her home to be her own space, and she would do best with a family that are able to listen to her body language and are keen to build a strong, trusting bond.Is Apollo right for you?Full of charm and enthusiasm, Apollo is a sweet lady who greets life with excitement and curiosity. She’s very food-motivated and will benefit from a quiet spot to enjoy her meals. While toys aren’t really her thing, companionship, affection, and adventure certainly are! Apollo is already house trained, used to settling in her crate, and can be left alone, making her a wonderfully manageable companion. She may be a little excitable and conflicted when meeting new people, but give her a few minutes and her friendly personality shines through. With her love of other dogs, eagerness for exploration and growing confidence, Apollo has all the makings of a loyal, fun companion ready to share many happy adventures with her forever family.

Arlo is an energetic bundle of joy who loves being outside (but not in the rain). He is good with kids - although we would recommend older due to his energy levels - but can be picky with dogs and prefers smaller dogs.

Holbrook Animal Rescue

Athena didn't have the best start to her life but she is loving the freedom she now has at Holbrook. She has come so far since arriving at Holbrook and has shown just how well she can bond with people now after a little time. Athena is really enjoying having the ability to run and play and it is beautiful to see this side of her starting to come out.Suitable Home - Athena is searching for a rural/farm type home with plenty of outdoor space for her to enjoy. She would like an experienced and patient Owner that can demonstrate how they will be able to bring her to her full potential as well as a confident and compatible companion dog as she thrives in more ways than one from other dogs. A large, secure garden and two interesting off lead walks each day so that she can gradually learn how to enjoy life to the full. NoCan live with children? 10+ years Location - West SussexHe was living in London before being handed into Battersea - he really struggled in this environment and sadly Battersea put him on code red as they felt he was not rehomeable, although we have no idea why! He’s never shown a single ounce of aggression - he is a loving and affectionate dog who adores his walks!He came to join us approx 1.5yrs ago and is a wonderful happy boy! He absolutely loves to play and loves other dogsThere is however a BIG BUT - he is absolutely terrified of travelling in a vehicle - he arrived shut in the dark in a small purpose built travel cage in the back of a Battersea van and has never got over this.

Over 14+ YearsLocation - West SussexBarley arrived back with us recently and has settled beautifully and is delightful.He was very unsure, hand shy and shut down but now is gaining confidence and starting to come out of his shell. He is submissive around the other lurchers, fine with little Sally and the Bullies, and gentle and inquisitive.He is looking for a home with space to let him have free running exercise as he is, after all, a 'running dog'! Without correct exercise and stimulation he will become frustrated and mischievous as so many do!He will be a very special dog in the right home with another dog or two who match his energy.

Bear is a bouncy boy who loves playing with toys and running around off lead (he has great recall!). He is an 'alert' dog when he sees or hears anything at home but loves to laze around and gets on with children and other dogs.

Bulldog Rescue

DOGS: NOCATS: NOCHILDREN: 15+Beautiful and super fussy, loving Belinda came into rescue via the dog warden and council pound in Carlisle after being spotted as a stray for at least 7 days. She arrived with no name and 13kilos in weight after a week of feeding up in the pound! She had a c-section scar and stitches still present (later removed and found to be not done by a vet due to the type of suture material used). She has come on leaps and bounds after expert care in her foster home and is thoroughly unrecognisable now! She has had mammary tumours removed since being in care and has experienced some anxiety issues which can be controlled with Reconcile as and when needed. Despite the appalling treatment by previous "owners", she is the most loving and friendly girl to people. Belinda needs to be the only dog and can be very reactive to them inside and outside of the home. She needs a cat free home too and can live with older teens 15+ and to be rehomed in a similar place to where she is that is quiet, possibly semi rural and not in a dog heavy area. She is mostly house-trained with occasional accidents (again this has been patiently worked on in foster care and she may revert temporarily to her old ways, when she moves). Belinda can be left for up to 5 hours but prefers to be loose in the home and needs a breed experienced home. A super girl with just the worst start in life imaginable - please do not overlook this beautiful soul xx

Are you right for Bella?Bella is a 5-year-old Chihuahua x Poodle looking for a calm, stable environment where she can feel secure and let her affectionate side shine! She will need to live in a multi-person household where someone is around most of the time, as she finds being left alone very stressful and needs consistent companionship to feel settled. A home with a private garden, ideally with a grassy area, is important for her toileting and for providing a quiet retreat if the outside world feels overwhelming. Bella would suit a household with older children aged 14 and above who can respect her sensitive nature, and while she may be able to build friendships with dogs of a similar size and temperament, she would much prefer to be the only pet in the home so she can soak up all the attention! Her new family should be patient and willing to support her with gentle reassurance, particularly with things like harnesses, car journeys, and building her confidence at her own pace.Is Bella right for you?Bella offers an incredibly loving and devoted companionship. She is a deeply affectionate little dog who adores cuddles and close contact, often following her people from room to room and curling up beside them whenever she can. Bella has a playful side too, enjoying short bursts of fun with her toys, especially her beloved octopus which she carries around for comfort. She loves a game of fetch - though sometimes she needs help knowing when to stop! She’s a clever girl who already knows commands like sit, paw and high five, and she’s even been trained to ring a bell when she needs the toilet. Bella is happiest when she’s part of everyday life, whether that’s relaxing on the windowsill watching the world go by, joining you for a gentle walk, or snuggling up in bed at the end of the day. For the right home, she will bring warmth, character and plenty of love!

Cuddly and inseperable brother and sister, Bella and Shadow, love long walks and other dogs. They love playing with toys and can run around for hours. They have lived with toddlers, cats and rabbits and have a very calm nature.
