Are you right for Alfie?Eight-year-old Alfie is a handsome Collie with a gentle, quiet character and a lot of love to give. He’s hopeful to find patient adopters, who will allow him plenty of time to settle into his new routine and allow him to show his fun, confident side. Alfie is a real ‘foodie’ and highly values his mealtimes and chews. He can find it challenging when people approach him whilst he is eating, or if they try and take food items away from him. Alfie has completed multiple training plans during his time in kennels around feeding times and loves to show off his skills- he requires a family who are happy to implement this training in his new home. Our Training Team can chat to successful applicants more about this. Alfie loves walking with doggy friends but is looking to be the only dog in his new home, and is looking for an adult only home. He also requires a garden of his own. Alfie is a clever boy, and knows multiple toys by name!

Lola's Trust

Angus is a gentle, loving soul that gets on well with all other pets such as dogs, cats, rabbits and guinea pigs. He's very lazy and calm, loves children and walks brilliantly on the lead. He would be fine missing a day's walk if you're very busy.

Are you right for Antoine?Antoine is a charming 6-year-old French Bulldog searching for a calm, adult-only, pet-free home where he can enjoy all the love and attention he deserves. He can be a little reserved with strangers, but with time, patience, and a calm approach, his affectionate and cheeky side shines through. Ant would thrive in a peaceful environment with minimal visitors, a predictable routine and a secure garden for off-lead playtime. Because he can be overwhelmed in busy places or around traffic, Antoine would prefer his home to be in a rural or suburban setting with quiet walking routes. He isn’t a high-energy dog and would be perfectly content with short strolls along the beach, followed by long, cosy snoozes on the sofa separated with his love of toy play. Antoine travels well in the car, which is ideal if needing to drive him a little further to reach a quieter walking spot. His adopters should be patient and willing to let him build trust at his own pace, with support from our training team to continue the positive progress he’s made.

Arlo is an energetic bundle of joy who loves being outside (but not in the rain). He is good with kids - although we would recommend older due to his energy levels - but can be picky with dogs and prefers smaller dogs.

Athena didn't have the best start to her life but she is loving the freedom she now has at Holbrook. She is nervous of people, especially men, but with a little patience she does bond with people. Athena is really enjoying having the ability to run and play and it is beautiful to see this side of her starting to come out.Suitable Home - Athena needs an experienced and patient Owner that can demonstrate how they will be able to bring her to her full potential. She will need a confident and compatible companion dog as she thrives in more ways than one from other dogs. Are you right for Audrey?Audrey is a three-year-old Poodle cross looking for an understanding home where she can gently discover the world at her own pace. Having had a very sheltered start to life, Audrey would thrive in a quieter residential or rural setting where things move a little more slowly and she can build confidence without feeling overwhelmed. A home with a secure garden is essential so she can enjoy time both indoors and outdoors while she gradually learns about lead walking and adventures beyond the home. Audrey would love to live with another friendly dog who can show her the ropes. Patient adopters who are happy to introduce new experiences slowly will help her flourish, and she could live with sensible secondary school-aged children who can learn to read her body language. Initially she would benefit from a household with only occasional visitors while she gains confidence, and her adopters should be prepared to continue her training, including house training and helping her feel comfortable with things like car travel.

Are you right for Badger?Badger is a bright and sensitive three-year-old Collie cross looking for an understanding adult home in a quieter residential or rural setting. As a reactive boy, he will need a home with a secure garden where he can decompress and enjoy his own space, and adopters who appreciate the importance of steady routines and gentle introductions to the world around him. Peaceful walking routes with wide paths and minimal traffic will help him feel safe, as busy areas and noisy vehicles can overwhelm him, although he can happily travel by car to reach more suitable quiet walking spots. Badger is comfortable wearing his muzzle on his walks and will need to continue to do so in his new home. He would thrive with patient adults willing to continue his training, particularly around loose lead walking, and who are happy to build up leaving times as he settles in. He will need an adult-only household with limited visitors, ideally the same familiar faces. With moderate exercise, enrichment feeding, and fun training activities to keep his clever mind busy, Badger has all the potential to flourish in the right home.

Bear is a bouncy boy who loves playing with toys and running around off lead (he has great recall!). He is an 'alert' dog when he sees or hears anything at home but loves to laze around and gets on with children and other dogs.

Bulldog Rescue

DOGS: NOCATS: NOCHILDREN: 15+Beautiful and super fussy, loving Belinda came into rescue via the dog warden and council pound in Carlisle after being spotted as a stray for at least 7 days. She arrived with no name and 13kilos in weight after a week of feeding up in the pound! She had a c-section scar and stitches still present (later removed and found to be not done by a vet due to the type of suture material used). She has come on leaps and bounds after expert care in her foster home and is thoroughly unrecognisable now! She has had mammary tumours removed since being in care and has experienced some anxiety issues which can be controlled with Reconcile as and when needed. Despite the appalling treatment by previous "owners", she is the most loving and friendly girl to people. Belinda needs to be the only dog and can be very reactive to them inside and outside of the home. She needs a cat free home too and can live with older teens 15+ and to be rehomed in a similar place to where she is that is quiet, possibly semi rural and not in a dog heavy area. She is mostly house-trained with occasional accidents (again this has been patiently worked on in foster care and she may revert temporarily to her old ways, when she moves). Belinda can be left for up to 5 hours but prefers to be loose in the home and needs a breed experienced home. A super girl with just the worst start in life imaginable - please do not overlook this beautiful soul xx

She is 9 yrs old and just GORGEOUS!!!She is fabulous with all dogs but not over interested in them, so whilst she would happily share with another calm dog, she would also (we think) be happy as an only dog. Cuddly and inseperable brother and sister, Bella and Shadow, love long walks and other dogs. They love playing with toys and can run around for hours. They have lived with toddlers, cats and rabbits and have a very calm nature.
