Angus is a gentle, loving soul that gets on well with all other pets such as dogs, cats, rabbits and guinea pigs. He's very lazy and calm, loves children and walks brilliantly on the lead. He would be fine missing a day's walk if you're very busy.

He can be a little reserved with strangers, but with time, patience, and a calm approach, his affectionate and cheeky side shines through. He’s a playful boy who adores his toys and his food even more! Around the home, he’s a gentle soul who settles beautifully and makes an excellent office buddy - he’d be the perfect companion for someone who works from home but wants a little companion who's content chilling whilst you work. Imagine curling up on a cold autumn day, snuggled on the sofa with Antoine by your side - sounds perfect to us!Is Antoine right for you?Ant would thrive in a peaceful environment with minimal visitors, a predictable routine and a secure garden for off lead playtime. He can be overwhelmed in busy places or around traffic so Antoine would prefer his home to be in a rural or residential setting with access to quiet walking routes. He isn’t a high energy dog and would be perfectly content with short strolls along the beach, followed by long, cosy snoozes on the sofa. Antoine travels well in the car, which is ideal if needing to drive him a little further to reach a quieter walking spot. His ideal home is an adult only space where he can be the only pet and soak up every ounce of attention he can get! His adopters should be patient and willing to let him build trust at his own pace, with support from our training team to continue the positive progress he’s made.

Arlo is an energetic bundle of joy who loves being outside (but not in the rain). He is good with kids - although we would recommend older due to his energy levels - but can be picky with dogs and prefers smaller dogs.

Are you right for Asia?Meet Fern & Asia, a pawfect pair of young gorgeous girls looking for their forever home where they can continue life side by side. Having grown up together, these lovely girls share a really special bond and are looking for adopters who will cherish them both. Fern is wonderfully affectionate and doesn't take long to show her softer side, happily leaning in for cuddles and never saying no to a tasty treat - especially if there's a hot dog on offer! Asia is the more playful of the two and she could happily play a fun game of tug or fetch all afternoon. She loves bouncing around and having the zoomies but also has a sweet, affectionate side. Together they're a delight, content simply enjoying each other's company.Is Asia right for you?An adult-only home in a quiet residential area or small town would suit Fern & Asia best, where they can settle into a predictable routine without the noise of busy surroundings. As they can be worried by unfamiliar people and sometimes feel unsure around other dogs, they'll need to be the only pets in the home and have patient owners who understand that trust takes time and that introductions to visitors should be carefully managed. Both girls enjoy moderate exercise and are happy to hop in the car for countryside walks or trips to the beach, while Fern will benefit from confident handlers who can manage her enthusiasm on the lead!

Athena didn't have the best start to her life but she has come such a long way since her arrival at Holbrook. She has proven just how well she can bond with people after a little time and we see daily her fun, loyal and loving personality shine through. Athena is such a gentle soul that you can easily fall in love with but the thing that makes us smile the most is watching her have the ability to really run without a care in the world! Suitable Home:- A rural/farm type home with plenty of outdoor space that is also secure- Athena is good around horses so this type of home would really suit her- An Owner who has experience of nervous dogs- A confident companion dog of a similar age in the home- Her new Owner will need to be patient & understanding that Athena is still learning about the outside world- Plenty of walks off lead for Athena which will need to be somewhere secure initially- Her new Owner will need to be at home the majority of time - Athena has previously lived with cats - Children need to be over the age of 12 years oldAthena likes - affection in abundance once she gets to know you, running free amongst our field, being around the dogs at Holbrook (she never has a disagreement with any of them!), getting reassurance if it's a situation she is unsure of. He’s never shown a single ounce of aggression - he is a loving and affectionate dog who adores his walks!He came to join us approx 1.5yrs ago and is a wonderful happy boy! He absolutely loves to play and loves other dogsThere is however a BIG BUT - he is absolutely terrified of travelling in a vehicle - he arrived shut in the dark in a small purpose built travel cage in the back of a Battersea van and has never got over this.

Bear is a bouncy boy who loves playing with toys and running around off lead (he has great recall!). He is an 'alert' dog when he sees or hears anything at home but loves to laze around and gets on with children and other dogs.
Bulldog Rescue
DOGS: NOCATS: NOCHILDREN: 15+Beautiful and super fussy, loving Belinda came into rescue via the dog warden and council pound in Carlisle after being spotted as a stray for at least 7 days. She arrived with no name and 13kilos in weight after a week of feeding up in the pound! She had a c-section scar and stitches still present (later removed and found to be not done by a vet due to the type of suture material used). She has come on leaps and bounds after expert care in her foster home and is thoroughly unrecognisable now! She has had mammary tumours removed since being in care and has experienced some anxiety issues which can be controlled with Reconcile as and when needed. Despite the appalling treatment by previous "owners", she is the most loving and friendly girl to people. Belinda needs to be the only dog and can be very reactive to them inside and outside of the home. She needs a cat free home too and can live with older teens 15+ and to be rehomed in a similar place to where she is that is quiet, possibly semi rural and not in a dog heavy area. She is mostly house-trained with occasional accidents (again this has been patiently worked on in foster care and she may revert temporarily to her old ways, when she moves). Belinda can be left for up to 5 hours but prefers to be loose in the home and needs a breed experienced home. A super girl with just the worst start in life imaginable - please do not overlook this beautiful soul xx

Cuddly and inseperable brother and sister, Bella and Shadow, love long walks and other dogs. They love playing with toys and can run around for hours. They have lived with toddlers, cats and rabbits and have a very calm nature.
Bulldog Rescue
DOGS: OK CATS: OK (dog savvy)KIDS: 8+Gorgeous, handsome, boisterous and playful, Bertie is looking for a new home after a family split and move. He is a super looking boy who loves life! His family feel he deserves to settle into an ideally breed experienced new family, who can give him the time he needs and deserves. Bertie is used to other dogs and as he loves to play thinks they're great! He can be too much for smaller or more delicate breeds and would really thrive in the company of other Bulldogs. Being placed with dogs who match his age, energy levels and size would suit him well. He is great with people and loves fuss and attention, he has a tendency to jump up to say hello which may require further training. Bertie is very energetic and takes a while to calm down but is super loving and friendly. Bertie can get excited when playing with toys and can mouthe a little, he had been playing tug with his owner which we have suggested is stopped moving forward, in order to avoid overly boisterous play.Bertie doesn't live with children currently but was living with children of around 8+ in his previous home. He could knock little ones over inadvertently. Bertie lives with a confident cat, again he is a boisterous dog and can chase sometimes, but he could be placed with a similar dog-savvy cat in his new home (or one that lives outside or upstairs).Bertie is fabulously clean in his home and can be left for 4-5 hours a day, displaying no destructive behaviour. Bertie doesn't generally bark other than to tell you something, like a cushion or a box, has been moved, or someone is at the door.Bertie also loves the car and can do long journeys of up to 4 hours. Bertie has seen horses on the lead and can bark if they get too close. He can be generally wary of new things until comfortable with them. This super looking boy is reportedly healthy but his tail pocket does require daily cleaning and attention in order to avoid it becoming sticky. Should he require tail amputation in the future, BDR will cove the cost of this at one of our vets. Bertie is described by his owner as: loving, playful, friendly, easygoing, goofy. Are you his forever family? Breed experience preferred but not essential.

DOGS: NOCATS: NOKIDS: 5+Gorgeous, playful, friendly, typically stubborn Betsy is looking for a forever home after the sad passing of one of her owners. She is now in foster care and is absolutely wonderful. She is great with all people, loves kids and can be placed with dog savvy children over 5. She lived with an 11 yr old girl with special needs who Betsy completely adored. Betsy can be left for up to 4 hours, loves the car and loves short walks. Betsy can be reactive towards dogs and cats so needs a pet free home. She is mostly housetrained/ clean during the day but uses puppy pads overnight. Betsy is reportedly fit and well and was described by our orginal visiting volunteer as a "confident, easy to handle, happy and beautifully trained girl who loves her own space". Arundawn Dog Rescue is based near Horsham, West Sussex, and specialises in rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming council pound strays who have served their statutory seven days and are at risk of euthanasia. Holbrook Animal Rescue was founded in 1992 after a local family began rescuing horses and ponies at risk of slaughter, eventually caring for over 160 equines and offering lifelong sanctuary to those in need.
