He is originally from Romania where he was taken from a home where it was extremely overcrowded with dogs.Food was almost none existent and Kona was absolutely emaciated. He had cuts off over his body from where there had clearly been some fights over the tiny amounts of food that were available. Unfortunately, in these situations if you don't do what is needed to eat, then you don't survive. Kona very nearly didn't.Once in the public shelter, Kona was completely overwhelmed. It was so loud with so many dogs and he didn't understand what was happening. Food was much more readily available here but Kona had never experienced this and the only thing that was inbuilt into him was to defend his food. For his own safety, Kona was placed into a crate which is were he lived for several months. It was absolutely heartbreaking to see him stuck in such a small space 24/7 but also...
