5 year old Maximus has been at Foal Farm since June 2022. Being a larger breed he is being completely overlooked.
Typical of the Mastiff breed, Max can guard his space and food. He is not unpredictable and knowing his triggers helps with your overall relationship.
Although he was unsure when he first arrived, Max has bonded to staff and volunteers well and has formed lovely relationships with us. He does accept the presence of new people well, but it does take time to gain his trust and for him to relax around you.
Max is very intelligent and loves nothing more than fun training exercises. He loves to play with his toys and will greet us usually with one in his mouth and his whole body will wiggle with happiness. He is great in the car and enjoys trips away from the farm.
Max walks very well on the lead however he will react towards other dog’s should they come too close or if they react first therefore, he will require a capable handler, as he is a big lad! He has come so far sinc...
