Arnie is a lovely big friendly boy of around 40kg. He loves a fuss and everyone he's met. Fine with kids, joggers, cars, bikes, loud noises, coffee shops etc. He's very easy in the home and sleeps quietly downstairs all night.He's generally fine with other dogs but seems to prefer females. He enjoys his food and treats and hasn't shown any signs of allergies or food intolerance. He can be quite strong on the lead at the start of a walk but loves his play time with toys in the paddock and soon calms down after a run. Knows all basic commands.Arnie would be best suited with older teenage children as he is a big boy and doesn't realise his size. No cats or small furries.

Are you right for Atlas?Meet Atlas, a big handsome lad who is still just a youngster at 1 year old. He's arrived with us after being found a stray meaning that we don't know too much about his past. Since coming into our care he's been a little overwhelmed and can find new people a little scary. He's slowly finding his paws and is showing us what a silly and goofy boy he is! Atlas is looking for a home with upper secondary school aged children who can understand his worries and sensitive nature who can learn to read his body language and give him any time and space he might need. It's likely he has never been in a home before, so may need some support with all aspects of home life including things such as housetraining. We also recommend any time being left is gradually built up as he settles in. Atlas absolutely loves his toys and is never happier than when he's zooming around playing fetch! Atlas isn't comfortable around other dogs, and wears a muzzle while out and about on walks. He would benefit from access to quiet walking areas and secure fields where he can relax and enjoy nature. He must have access to his own secure garden with no dogs living either side and secure fencing.Is Atlas right for you?Atlas is a wonderful boy who just needs a bit of time and patience to blossom. He's super clever and is happy to show off a "sit" and "paw" for a treat or two. Being a big lad, he can be strong on the lead so will adopters who can physically handle him and feel confident continuing his training around loose lead walking.

My name is Bandit and I am 7 year old Boxer x Bullmastiff. I found myself on death row in a pound due to being an unclaimed stray.. most likely dumped by my previous owner.I do have elbow dysplasia which is controlled well with medication.I am a big strong boy who thinks he can sit on your lap like a chihuahua! I love a bum scratch and am always perfect patient at the vets.I love to be loved and have lots of love to give my new family!!I have no experience with children and am looking for an adult only home without visiting children.I cannot live with cats or small furries!I get on well with some dogs but not all, and so will need a home as the only dog.I walk well on the lead during my walks but am very strong initially or when excited so will need a fit and strong person to walk me. I can't do marathons but a couple of ½ hour walks a day would suit me well.I am looking for a quiet home with calm adults who enjoy a brindle snuggle buddy!

Bruno is a Mastiff cross, estimated to be around 17 months old, who came into our care after being abandoned as a fake stray.When Bruno first arrived, he was an extremely worried young dog who found the world overwhelming. He is still learning about the world around him and can be unsure of loud noises and unfamiliar surroundings. Through patience, training and positive experiences, he has made fantastic progress and continues to grow in confidence.Bruno is a big, powerful lad who is expected to reach around 70kg when fully grown. Our staff have worked incredibly hard building his lead manners and confidence. He has progressed beautifully, but due to his size and strength he will need a confident owner with large breed experience who can continue his training and development.Our staff and behaviour team have also worked closely with Bruno on his impulse control and resource guarding. He has responded well and continues to make encouraging progress. His future family will need to continue using positive reinforcement to help him feel safe and secure.Once Bruno trusts you, he is an affectionate boy who loves fuss, enjoys a game of tug and proudly carries his favourite toys around.Bruno is looking for an adult-only home. He may be able to live with a calm, neutered female dog of a similar size, subject to successful introductions. Any companion would need to be a good match for his play style and ongoing development.Bruno is a bright, resilient young dog who has already overcome so much. Personality:Meet Bruce, our sweet mastiff puppy who is searching for his forever home. Bruce has found himself in our care at the young age of just five months and is just waiting to be snapped up! Bruce is a timid guy but warms up very quickly to new people but once he gets to know you, you will be greeted with a wiggle bum!. He is a big soft baby who is going to make a family incredibly happy. Bruce will thrive in a home with a family that is prepared to take on training and socialising and committed to helping Bruce settle into his new home.Behaviour:Bruce is currently in a foster home and doing very well. He sleeps well at nighttime and appears to be toilet trained. He is settling in well with another dog and would love to live with another confident dog to help show him the ropes. Bruce loves to play, have cuddles and is great fun to train. He responds very well to training and loves to please.Housing:Bruce would love to have his own garden to help build his confidence. We are looking for a 5* home for this guy as at only 5 months old he weighs 24kg so is going to be a big dog! If you are looking for a dog you can take to training classes and have fun adventures with, then Bruce could be the dog for you!Children/pets:Bruce can live with cats and dogs (pending successful dog meets here at the shelter) Bruce seems to warm quicker to female dogs but could live with a male dog if they are the right temperament. Bruno is a 3-year-old extra-large male Weimaraner x Mastiff, standing at an impressive 91cm tall and weighing 70+ kg.After waiting in emergency boarding kennels for 7 months Bruno found himself in what was supposed to be his forever home for the past 3 months. Everything went great for the first 2.5 months but as Bruno has had some issues with the resident dog for the past 2 weeks the family have decided to surrender him. Bruno has not worked with any professional on any of these behaviours and advice from PPTF was refused - they just want him moved asap.While he is a big soft baby at home, he is very strong on lead. He is microchipped, neutered and fully vaccinated, with no known health issues.Bruno is an extremely large, heavy and strong dog and because of this Bruno must be walked by someone with proven experience handling very strong XL breeds and who has the physical ability to keep full control at all times.Bruno has some specific conditions such as muzzling in public that his new home will need to meet which can be discussed on application. Bug is a friendly boy and we think he could live with lower primary aged children providing they are confident around big dogs and following a meet here at the centre. Bug can sometimes be a little clumsy and not quite realise just how big he is! Bug may need some support with settling into a home environment which may include things such as housetraining and learning how to spend time alone, so we recommend this is built up gradually. Bug has been making some doggy pals here at the centre and whilst he's a friendly lad, he doesn't have many manners. He'll need to be the only dog for now but would love some tolerant walking buddies who can teach him some social skills!Is Bug right for you?Bug loves to be out and about exploring and sniffing new places, but can be quite strong on the lead so will need adopters who can continue his ongoing training in this area. It's important his new family are confident managing a large and often excitable dog. Bud loves his toys, but they often don't last too long. He LOVES to jump into the car and will even try to jump into an open window given the chance, so would likely be a perfect adventure buddy!

Since arriving at the centre, he has quickly settled in, getting to know his handlers and is happiest spending his days relaxing on his bed. He is currently in a foster home temporarily staying with a volunteer until we find his forever family. He is now housetrained and his favourite place to hang out is the garden. He absolutely loves attention from people, leaning in for a head rub. Bug is a polite boy, he takes treats gently, and has impressed everyone with how relaxed he is during handling. When the mood takes him, his playful side shines through as he bounces around with his toys, enjoys a game of fetch, and shows off his fun-loving personality. Bug is a calm companion and playful best friend, and we think he has so much love to offer his future family.
