BreedMastiff

Apollo is a stunning 50kg Mastiff, with an enormous heart. He has amazing manners, as you would need from a dog of his size. He’s delightful on walks and meets both people and other dogs with calm, respectful behaviour when returned, but doesn't always want to stay and chat! He is muzzle trained and fly's the movement flag with pride. Apollo is a routine guy, he can be a bit dishevelled if things are out of kilter, but with a patient home he can work through things and adjust accordingly. He craves to be your shadow and just wants to share your world. He is and hearted dog with an even bigger personality. Whether you’re cooking dinner, folding laundry, or settling down on the sofa, Apollo wants to be right there beside you, he’s very much a “shadow” companion.Special Features• Size-blind: Apollo has no idea he’s enormous, which makes his cuddles both hilarious and wonderfully cosy.• Big love, big presence: He thrives on being involved but not every empty space needs to have Apollo in it, even if he thinks otherwise.Apollo is looking for a home that understands his gentle soul, playful spirit, and he’ll flourish in a calm environment where he can be included in your daily routines. If you’re ready to welcome a loyal, goofy, and endlessly affectionate companion, one who will adore you wholeheartedly and benefit from a bit of structure, Apollo might just be your perfect match.

BreedMastiff

Are you right for Atlas? Meet Atlas, a big handsome lad who is still just a youngster at 1 year old. He's arrived with us after being found a stray meaning that we don't know too much about his past. Since coming into our care he's been a little overwhelmed and can find new people a little scary. He's slowly finding his paws and is showing us what a silly and goofy boy he is! Atlas is looking for a home with children 14+ who can understand his worries and sensitive nature who can learn to read his body language and give him any time and space he might need. It's likely he has never been in a home before, so may need some support with all aspects of home life including things such as housetraining. We also recommend any time being left is gradually built up as he settles in. Atlas absolutely loves his toys and is never happier than when he's zooming around playing fetch! Atlas isn't comfortable around other dogs, and is learning to wear a muzzle while out and about on walks, and will need access to quiet walking areas and secure fields where he can relax and enjoy nature. He must have access to his own secure garden with no dogs living either side and secure fencing. Is Atlas right for you? Atlas is a wonderful boy who just needs a bit of time and patience to blossom. He's super clever and is happy to show off a "sit" and "paw" for a treat or two. Being a big lad, he can be strong on the lead so will adopters who can physically handle him and feel confident continuing his training around loose lead walking.

My name is Bandit and I am 7 year old Boxer x Bullmastiff. I found myself on death row in a pound due to being an unclaimed stray.. most likely dumped by my previous owner.I do have elbow dysplasia which is controlled well with medication.I am a big strong boy who thinks he can sit on your lap like a chihuahua! I love a bum scratch and am always perfect patient at the vets.I love to be loved and have lots of love to give my new family!!I have no experience with children and am looking for an adult only home without visiting children.I cannot live with cats or small furries!I get on well with some dogs but not all, and so will need a home as the only dog.I walk well on the lead during my walks but am very strong initially or when excited so will need a fit and strong person to walk me. I can't do marathons but a couple of ½ hour walks a day would suit me well.I am looking for a quiet home with calm adults who enjoy a brindle snuggle buddy!

I would like my family to be around most of the time.I could live with older children.I could live with another calm dog if introductions went well.Basil is a young, enthusiastic Mastiff cross who’s still finding his paws in the world. At just over a year old, he’s full of playful energy and has a lot of love to give but he can find being on his own a little overwhelming at times. He’s looking for a home where someone is around most of the time to help him build confidence and learn that independence can be a positive experience. Basil would benefit from continued training and routine to help guide him through his teenage phase — he’s still very puppy-like in many ways!Basil may be able to live with another well-matched dog of similar size, pending successful introductions, and could live with older, dog-savvy children (secondary school age and up).Ideally, his new owner will have experience with large breeds or be confident in handling bigger dogs. With time, consistency, and plenty of positive encouragement, Basil will make a brilliant companion. If you’re ready for a bouncy best friend with bags of potential, Basil might be just the one for you.**Basil currently weighs 41.2kg**

Baxter, a 3 years old male Mastiff available for adoption from Dogs Trust in Merseyside

Dogs Trust

Baxter

Merseyside
SexMale
Age3 years
BreedMastiff

Are you right for Baxter? Baxter is looking for a home where any children are over 16 and he can be the only pet. His family will need to be committed to ongoing training to work on his impulse control and social skills. Baxter is fully house trained but may need a refresher, and he does enjoy some solo time although that may have to be built up gradually whilst he settles in. Is Baxter right for you? With ears that point any which way but up, Baxter is one of the most recognisable and daftest dogs at our Merseyside centre! He’s three years old and full of potential, he just needs his hero to come and meet him. His needs are quite particular, but you’ll be rewarded with a lifetime of love and devotion and are absolutely guaranteed some laughs along the way. Baxter is incredibly intelligent and is a very cuddly boy once he's settled with you. He adores his training sessions with his best pal Rachel, and has made great progress, learning to manage his daft lad impulses! He walks beautifully on his lead and enjoys the company of other dogs, but he is way too physical in play to be off lead with them, and as he’s such a powerful dog we have to be careful he doesn’t get too giddy and accidentally upset someone! He loves to play with his toys and has learnt to settle happily by himself, quite content with his own company. Baxter has worked so very hard to become the wonderful friend he is and this has helped us formulate training plans for him in the home. He is such a loving and lovable dog and deserves to find his own family, they just need to be robust and up for some training!

Hi, I’m Brandy!I’m a 2 year 9 month old Rottweiler x Mastiff girl looking for a loving family to call my own.If you’re looking for a dog with a big personality, then look no further! I’m a super excitable, happy-go-lucky girl who loves life and greets every day with a wagging tail and a huge smile. I can be a little giddy at times because I get so excited about making new friends and exploring the world around me.Being a Rottweiler x Mastiff, I’m a big girl with an even bigger heart. Because of my size and enthusiasm, I can be quite strong on the lead, so I’d love a home with someone who has experience with larger breeds and can help me continue working on my manners.I’ve previously lived with another dog called Bailey, who is also looking for a home, so I may be able to live with another dog pending successful introductions. Unfortunately, cats aren’t for me – I don’t really like them, so I’d need a cat-free home.I’ve also lived with children in my previous home and enjoyed being part of family life. As long as any children in my new home are comfortable around a big, bouncy, silly girl like me, we could be the perfect match! The kennel team are still getting to know me, and they’ll update my profile as they learn more about my personality, likes, and dislikes. What I really want is a family who will give me plenty of love, guidance, and fun adventures. In return, I’ll bring lots of laughter, affection, and endless companionship to your life.Could you be the forever family I’ve been waiting for? I can’t wait to meet you!My adoption fee is £350.
