Monty

Monty is suspected to have a condition called Cervical Spondylomyelopathy, more commonly known as Wobblers Syndrome. This condition, which is most often seen in large and giant breed dogs, causes compression of the spinal cord in his neck. This affects the messages travelling between the brain and the body, giving Monty his characteristic "wobbly" gait and making him a little unsteady on his feet at times. This is a progressive condition so it is likely his symptoms will become more noticeable as he gets older. Monty is managing very well with pain relief and anti-inflammatory medication, and he continues to enjoy life to the fullest. Despite his diagnosis, Monty is full of love and affection. He adores people and is happiest when he's close to his favourite humans, leaning in for cuddles with his signature "Lurcher lean."
