Rico

Rico has made wonderful progress during his time with us. He is still a shy and sensitive boy, but he is now accepting gentle strokes, is happy to greet us and has even started venturing out on walks. Seeing him become more comfortable and willing to explore his surroundings has been lovely. Rico still has a lot of confidence to build as his world slowly expands. He can find new experiences overwhelming and will need everything to continue at his own pace, without pressure. He will always be a skittish, nervous boy, so his new home will need to understand and embrace this rather than expecting him to become a confident, outgoing dog. Rico is ruled by his tummy and absolutely loves food, which continues to be a brilliant tool for building his trust and supporting his training. He is a clever boy who picks things up quickly when he feels safe and is given the time and space he needs.
