, where he received treatment for a leg break that he arrived with. The bone was pinned and has fully healed. Sadly after his move to foster in the UK, in a freak accident he broke the same leg in another place. The vets have confirmed they don’t believe the 2 breaks are connected in any way, he’s just been really unlucky. He’s made a full recovery but would not be suitable for those looking to hike or partake in dog sports. Sammy is a big character dog with big behaviours - when he is excited and happy he shows it with every bone in his body trying to wag, but when he’s is anxious this too is amplified. He gets on well with all humans and shows no preference towards males or females, but his space needs to be respected. He can be easily startled due to his deafness so interactions need to be instigated by Sammy. We would love to encourage Sammy to use his sense of smell as well as his sight, to help him read his environment and daily experiences better so scent training would be a gre...
