Meet Sully – A Gentle Giant Learning to TrustSully is a young boy with a sensitive soul who is slowly discovering that the world can be a kind and safe place. At around 18 months old, he is still very much an adolescent and has plenty of growing—both physically and emotionally—still to do.Originally adopted through what is known as a “blind adoption” (where no meet and greet takes place), Sully found himself in a home that wasn’t the right match. After just one week, his adopters made the difficult decision that he wasn’t the dog for them, leaving Sully with nowhere to go. Thankfully, he is now safe with us at Islay Dog Rescue, where he’s being given the time, patience, and care he truly needs.Sully is an extremely shy and gentle boy. There isn’t a bad bone in his body—when he feels scared or overwhelmed, he simply freezes rather than reacting.
