BRUNO the Spanish breton is in foster in Chelmsford, Essex. He has the usual characteristics of a breton and is energetic, eager to please and very loving. Loves his walks, can pull on the lead, but responds to his training which will need to be continued. Once a week he goes to a secure field and just runs and runs around the perimeter - not necessarily trying to get out, but just to run. His recall is a work in progress in the secure field, but listens towards the end of the session. He sits nicely to have his harness put on and does not make any fuss. He travels well in the boot of the car, but will not jump in so likes to be lifted in. He has been taken to the beach several times and loves to run on a long 10m training line. He will dip his toes in the water but has not gone in too deep. He is house trained and will ask to go out. He is happy to chill out on the rug or the sofa or on a lap if one is available in the evenings and has been left for 3-4 hours with the resident dogs, but he has been crated during this time to prevent any chewing! He is happy to go into the crate with a treat and will sleep. BRUNO does have a tendency to “relocate shoes and clothing” and have a bit of a gnaw, so things do need to be put away! Foster mum has been working getting a bit more weight on him, but after poor nutrition in Spain, having 2 good meals a day, he will fill out in due course. During the day, he will have a few treats (biscuits) which he takes gently. When offered treats he will sit and wait his turn and is not pushy. He has high bird prey and will do zoomies in the garden. Out on walks there are certain spots where he will stop and listen for the birds. He can be a little wary meeting some new people and may seek reassurance from foster mum, but his confidence is building. We are looking for a rural home where his new family are around most of the day. He will need continued training on recall and walking, but foster mum has started this process and will just need to be continued. He will need a calm, resident dog to help him integrate into family life. He will give so much back in love with the right family. BRUNO is microchipped, vaccinated, castrated, had recent parasite treatments and a Spanish Passport.

CARLY, our pretty breton, is in foster in Doncaster, S Yorkshire. She arrived a little fearful of her new surroundings (having never lived in a home) and didn’t know her name (but then she had only had it for a week or so!), she comes in from the garden when her foster parents call her name and she’ll also respond from another room with a reward of a small treat. Recall is a work in progress. But is improving every day. Loves a lead walk, the whole world is new to her, she really follows the resident dogs and looks to them for confidence. She has been let her off lead in a secure field and she loves to run, zoomies are her favourite thing to do. Our dogs all join in and this is when you really see her smile. Her adoptive family are going to need to put the time in to build up her trust. When worried she runs away into her bed in the corner of foster mum’s office. CARLY has shown NO signs of aggression even when she is extremely worried. She freezes. When she sees the lead coming she gets excited as she has now learnt this means its time for a walk. Rather than run away she lies down a little fearful . Gentle words, gentle hands treats and encouragement her harness goes on easily and she up and ready to go. CARLY’S confidence is growing by the day. Each day we see something new, she grows more comfortable with us each day. When you put her food down she is nervous to go to her bowl. Now she has learnt we put her food down in her corner tell her she is a good girl and walk away she tucks in. We suspect she has been hit when she has gone for food. But she is learning quickly that nothing bad is going to happen in this house. Consistency and routine has really been the best thing for her. CARLY now has the confidence to come and nudge us for affection. foster mum cried the first time she did it! Recently she jumped up on the sofa next to foster mum and snuggled into her. Foster mum stroked her and rubbed her tummy, she stretched out with a satisfying groan and went to sleep. To be picked as her safe place is truly magical. We have no doubt her new family will be rewarded with the same. CARLY is house trained, loves the company of other dogs and is happy to share food, chews and toys. She hasn’t been cat tested, so no to cats. As she can be fearful a home with older children would be preferable, so they aren’t lots of loud noises and bustle. She has been left for an hour or two left with the resident dogs and had no issues (her long legs lend herself well to reaching counters though!). CARLY will need another playful resident dog(s) in her adoptive home and a family willing to take things slowly, so she can build up her confidence. She is microchipped, vaccinated, spayed, had recent parasite treatments and a Spanish Passport.

GOLFO, who has just turned 9 years (but you wouldn’t believe it) is in foster in Wanstead, London. He's already setted in his foster home; doesn't bark, he is a lovely dog. Loves his cuddles and interacts with people very well. No issues with any dogs introduced into the house and settled well with the fosterer’s resident 3 dogs. Showing off his breton qualities of intelligence, he mastered dog flap on his own volition very quickly. Foster mum has let him off leash but on a long line, and due to incident where another dog clamped onto him he is little wary of other dogs when out on a walk, so foster mum is working to resolve that. This will need a little work, but I am sure he will be okay with time and patience and let him know there is nothing to fear. Instantly friendly meeting new people, happy to be cuddled, picked up and groomed. GOLFO is housetrained and happy to be share toys, food and treats with the resident dogs. He has shown a lot of interest in the cat, so we will say no to cats to be on the safe side. He has been left for up to 4 hours with no issues settling in the home with the other dogs. He jumps into the car with no issues and travels well. Has mastered “sit” and “come”. If someone is around most of the day, we feel he would be happy as an only dog, but equally would like the company of resident dogs. GOLFO is microchipped, vaccinated, castrated, had recent parasite treatments and has a Spanish Passport.

LANA is in foster in Shifnal, Shropshire and now ready for her forever. A breton cross found in a field (dumped?) in Spain. She is curious about everything, playful and still very much a puppy. She’s a lovely natured dog and after being very frightened when she arrived and has blossomed into a lovely dog. She is very intelligent and taught herself to go up and downstairs within a day and has also taught herself to open doors in her foster home. Quite impressive for a dog who hasn’t lived in a house before! LANA is young and her foster parents have been working on basic commands, but training will need to be continued. She knows her name and knows to wait and respond to her name in the house and garden. She’s only been off lead in a secure field, so recall needs to be worked on. She eats extremely quickly and if you’re not careful will try and pinch food from the others! Foster parents are working with her to leave the others when they’re eating and she is making good progress with this. She is housetrained now, jumps straight in the car and travels well. Happy to share chews and toys with the resident dogs, been left for a couple of hours with no issues. She is happy to be groomed, feet washed down, instantly friendly meeting people and dogs. She hasn’t been cat tested, so we will say no to cats in adoptive home. She will need another dog to learn from, cuddle with and play with. LANA is microchipped, vaccinated, spayed, had recent parasite treatments and has a Spanish Passport.

Gorgeous breton MOOSE, who has just turned 1 years old is in foster in Shrewsbury. He is a typical breton pup, he loves to play and chew, but also settles well for a good re-charge and calms down well in the evening with the other dogs or for cuddles with his foster parents. Friendly with all dogs he meets, but is also respectful too. He seems happy under the guide of the resident springador who is the matriarch of the group. He has been left for up to 2 hours with no issues and also sleeps overnight in the kitchen with one other dog and foster parents don't hear a peep. Happy to travel in the car, jumps straight in. As any pup, Moose likes to chew. He is learning the difference between what he's been given to him and what is not for dogs, but it is work in progress. He was crated twice early on for short periods (with foster parents present), but he became stressed so they didn’t persist with crate training. As a pup and having never lived in a house, absolutely needs a resident dog. He's learned a lot from the foster resident dogs and thrives on their company. In just 2 weeks, MOOSE has learned his name, to sit and come to call. Not tried recall outside of foster parent’s own paddocks, but he is a very fast and eager learner who just wants to please his humans, so with the right training we envisage good recall. Moose loves a task and stimulation so would make a great companion for agility, cani-cross, mantrailing, scent training etc. MOOSE is microchipped, vaccinated, castrated, had recent parasite treatments and has a Spanish Passport.

OLLIE the stunning breton is in foster in Crewe, Cheshire. Found as a stray in Spain, he’s been in his foster home for a month. Instantly happy on arrival with resident dogs and all dogs when out walking. He does like to be at the front of the queue for affection, however, if he is told by resident dog to behave, he instantly responds and if the other two resident dogs get a bit rough, he will head for comfort/reassurance from his foster mum initially and then join in eventually. He's been left alone for 4-5 hours with the two resident dogs with no issues. He’s not been allowed upstairs, but if the resident dogs go upstairs, he does bark and whine on his own so he needs to have doggie company. But it's definately not separation anxiety, just FOMO! Happy to sleep most of the day when foster mum is working if the other resident dogs are quiet, but happy to leap into action if everyone else does! OLLIE settles perfectly at night after going out to do his business and sleeps downstairs with resident dogs until the sun comes up (or just before) and then he will pop out and do his business again with no issue at all. He loves to cuddle up to you while you watch TV. He appears to have a slight weakness in his left hind leg, but doesn't seem to be causing any obvious issue. SOS have had the leg xrayed to check, but apart from some muscle wastage (needs building up) and reduced cartilege, no other major issues were seen. He can still pull a bit on the lead and you wouldn't notice anything wrong and he bounds across the garden to retrieve his ball. Overall a very happy little loveable boy and the most gorgeous and handsome teddy bear face. He does still mouth your hand, but only very gently but this has reduced since he's been in foster. But it's nothing that more time and love won't improve. Everyone he's met since he's been here would happily take him home tomorrow if they had the room and that's including foster mum. OLLIE is microchipped, vaccinated, castrated, had recent parasite treatments and has a Spanish Passport.

PALOMA the breton is in foster near Callington, East Cornwall. Found a stray on the roads in Spain, the gorgeous PALOMA has had a hard start to life. She is starting to settle into a home environment for the first time, although can find closed doors a little worrying. She seeks foster mum for reassurance in instances like this. The comfy beds are a big win to new life! She is already housetrained and living in the countryside with no concerns whilst walking passed horses and ponies in the nearby fields. She has been left for a couple of hours with no issues. She can be a little wary of meeting new people, but warms up to them when the prospect of treats are on the table. PALOMA jumps straight in the car and travels well. She is very happy around the other resident dogs and will share toys, treats and food. Foster mum has had some success with recall using high value treats when off lead in a secure dog park. As there are times when she doesn’t respond, more ongoing work needed. PALOMA gains confidence when other dogs are with her. She follows foster mum’s dog around and sleeps near her. She will be happiest living with other dogs. As a breton, she is an intelligent, loyal, eager to please girl who will need equal amounts of mental and physical stimulation as well as ongoing training. She is microchipped, vaccinated, spayed, had recent parasite treatments and a Spanish Passport.

REINA, 9 year old breton was kept in appalling conditions in Spain as a hunters dog. She and her kennel mate (TRUFA) lived in a cramped, faeces filled pen with no water or human interaction. We had to take the both of them. She arrived into her foster home near Sleaford, Lincolnshire and felt the touch of kindness for the first time in her life. She is the sweetest, gentlest girl ever. A bit of a velcro girl, her nose always finding foster mum’s hand as she moves around. We think she has regularly been beaten and done little else other than have pups. REINA just wants to be your best friend. She walks nicely on a lead. Enjoys the free time afforded to her by going to the secure field, where she checks in regularly putting her nose in foster mum’s hand. She listens, does her very best to please and follow instruction. Sleeps downstairs with the other dogs and very excited to see foster mum in the morning. Just the easiest girl to live with. Please don’t be put off by her age, she is in very good health and we hope she has 5/6 years ahead of her in comfort and a loving, calm household. REINA has spent time in a daycare environment with cats and shown no interest. She is afraid of all people. No aggression, but will bark initially. If approached will cower, but definitely takes confidence from the other dogs. If you ignore her, she will join in greeting peoople and even become pushy. She needs a home where she is given the time to trust and then can shower you with her love. The outside world seems to be a new experience for Reina, so she’s cautious, but wth reassurance, she’s fine. She doesn’t show signs of separation anxiety (left for 3-4 hours with no issues), but is very dependant on the resident dogs, hence the need for a resident dog. REINA is microchipped, vaccinated, spayed, had recent parasite treatments and a Spanish Passport.

RON has those eyes that make you melt! He is in foster in Tamworth and ready for his forever home. Owned by a hunter in Spain, he was kept in the most abhorrent conditions with no kindness in his life. He has made up for it in his foster home and loves a cuddle. He is a larger breton (springer spaniel size), who thinks he is a chihuahua! He is instantly friendly with people and dogs (his enthusiam can be quite full on when seeing other dogs on a walk, but he is just so desperate to say “hello”). He is living with another resident dog and happy to share toys and chews. He LOVES his food, but as he arrived emaciated, it’s not a great surprise that his focus is on food - anyones! RON has been left for a couple of hours with no issues and is happy to sleep downstairs at night. He’s is very interested in furry and feathery critters, so re-focussing him on walks will be ongoing. He’s not met any children, but has been respectful when meeting a baby. He is very happy to be groomed, being picked up (!) and loves a good snuggle next to his foster family. He can be quite strong on a lead and harness, will need continued training, but also someone with a little bit of upper body strength! He is a lovely, snuggly boy who will make a fabulous family member and will need another resident dog to help him to grow and settle in a family home. RON is microchipped, vaccinated, castrated, had recent parasite treatments and a Spanish Passport.
