Derek is looking for a home where there are no other pets or children, as since having his patella surgery, he needs a calm and quiet home. Derek is an affectionate little man looking for loving adopters. He is a sweet, sensitive dog that bonds deeply with his people and once he trusts you, he is incredibly loving and loyal. He loves nothing more than spending time with the people he loves most!Derek can be worried by new people initially, so adopters that are gentle and patient; willing to let him come to them, would be perfect. He can be overwhelmed by busy environments, so he will need some continued confidence building in his new home.He's currently spending his recovery in one of our fantastic foster homes, where he continues to lap up all of the home comforts he so needs.
