Hi everyone, my name's Archie and I may be little in size but have a big personality to make up for it.I have recently spent the last couple of months in Foster care with two staff members from the centre here, and I have loved being in a comfy home environment again. This has allowed the team to learn a lot more about my rehoming requirements. So here goes......I am going to need quite a special home that's nice and quiet with an owner who will give me lots of time, patience, reassurance and understanding as I am a very worried and scared little boy. I am not the type of dog that likes to be fussed or petted, so if you are looking for a lap dog that isn't me I'm afraid. However, the team have been working on other ways of interacting with me and I now know a "touch" command and I get so excited to do this, I'm such a good boy!I would also benefit from having a space in my new home just for me, where I can go to if I need some quiet time - my Foster Mums say I get very sleepy in the evening and will take myself off to my favourite "igloo" bed.I am spotlessly clean in the home, and I actually settle very well so would be fine to leave for a period of time - you will most probably find me asleep under my blanket upon your return as I love getting all snuggly and warm. I am not a fan of the rain, mud, getting dirty or being woken up from my snoozing though!Once I know and trust you the real Archie comes out to play - I just love my special mini sized balls and tug toys, we could have so much fun! I am actually very clever and know lots of commands, love enrichment activities and am keen to learn new things. I am good on the lead and really enjoy sniffy walks as long as I'm away from busy roads.I wouldn't be able to live with cats or dogs I'm afraid, but if you have an adult only home and would be willing to handle me carefully and build up my confidence I would love to meet you and show you the real Archie x

Meet Bambi, affectionately known as Little Poe!Poe is a 4-year, 10-month-old Chihuahua cross with a huge personality packed into a small frame. This affectionate little guy loves spending time with people and enjoys getting out and about to explore the world around him. When Poe first came into our care, he was very nervous and unsure of his new surroundings. Since then, he has made incredible progress and has really come out of his shell. He now happily seeks out affection, enjoys spending time with the staff, and is always pleased to see familiar faces.Poe can be a little vocal around other dogs, so we feel he would be best suited as the only dog in the home for now while he continues to build his confidence. With ongoing positive experiences and support, we believe he will continue to flourish.Poe could potentially live with sensible, dog-savvy children following successful introductions. If you’re looking for a loving companion with plenty of character and a heart full of affection, Little Poe could be the perfect addition to your family.

Beanie, a 4 years old female Chihuahua available for adoption from Pendle Dogs in Lancashire

Many of you will remember tiny Beanie, our three-legged Chihuahua who arrived with us in an absolutely horrific condition. When Beanie first started to improve, we felt she was ready to start looking for her forever home. Unfortunately, her skin flared up again, so we made the decision to pause her adoption and focus on getting her comfortable and healthy once more. The good news is that she’s doing brilliantly. Her skin is looking so much better, she’s feeling well, and the extra time in foster care has helped us understand exactly what this little lady needs from her future family. And what have we learned?Well… Beanie is an absolute princess! She is not your average dog. Beanie thrives on attention, affection, and being the centre of someone’s world. She loves to be nurtured and adored, and she will repay that devotion with endless love, laughter, and companionship. She does struggle with separation anxiety, so she needs a home where somebody is around for much of the day. The beauty of Beanie, though, is that she’s so tiny and portable that she can go almost anywhere with you. She has her own pram, and she’s more than happy to join you on life’s adventures.Over the past few weeks, we’ve also discovered that Beanie could potentially live with another very small, calm, and quiet dog. What she absolutely doesn’t enjoy is anything boisterous or overwhelming.Beanie cannot live with children. Even seeing children from a distance causes her anxiety, and she finds them very stressful. She also cannot live with cats, as she has made her feelings about them very clear! One thing we’d like to clear up is her age. We received a lot of comments when we first advertised Beanie suggesting that she was much older than stated. We can assure everyone that Beanie is only 4 years old.The grey colouring around her face is largely due to scarring from the severe skin issues she arrived with, combined with her naturally pale colouring. It can make her appear older in photographs, but trust us—this little girl is young, lively, cheeky, and full of character.Beanie has overcome so much already. Now she’s looking for a special home that understands her quirks, appreciates her larger-than-life personality, and is ready to treat her exactly as she believes she should be treated…Like the princess she is. ️Please share to help us find the perfect forever home for our little Beanie. If you feel you may have the perfect home for our Beanie please fully read all the information on our home page and then fill the online form in.

BreedJack Russell Terrier x Chihuahua

Bell and Buster share a very special bond, so we are looking to rehome them together. They are both lovable dogs who enjoy attention, walks and playtime, with Buster being the more confident and calmer of the two.Bell can be reactive to other dogs on walks, which then causes Buster to react too, although Buster will happily ignore dogs when walked without her. Despite enjoying attention, Buster also has a soft side and loves taking his teddy to bed with him.Due to their age, Bell and Buster would benefit from a quieter home environment and will need someone around most of the time while they settle into their new home.

Bentley, a 10 years old male Chihuahua available for adoption from RSPCA in North Yorkshire

Bentley

North Yorkshire
SexMale
Age10 years
BreedChihuahua

Bentley is a sweet boy who came to the centre via our friends at the Hull Branch after not receiving much interest there. Bentley is a great dog who is looking for a second chance to find himself a loving new home. Bentley is loving and affectionate and loves to be with his people, he walks well on a lead but can also be quite a stubborn little lad if he decides he does not want to go for a walk, which is fine, we just turn around and go another way.Bentley will need adopters who are experienced with dogs, he is not suitable for first time dog owners. Bentley is a dog who if he is in his bed, he just needs to be left alone and he will be happy as Larry. Bentley can be a little nervous in new situations and strange surroundings so adopters will need to understand this and keep him safe until his confidence grows. Bentley is a super little dog, who just needs an owner who understands him and he will make the most wonderful and loyal best friend.Bentley will need to be the only dog on an adult only home.

BreedChihuahua x Shih Tzu

I’m a 7 year 2 month old ShiChi with a heart full of love, and if you’re looking for a cuddly companion, then I think we might be the perfect match!I can be a little nervous when meeting new people at first, but it doesn’t take me long to realise that most people are actually pretty wonderful. Once I’ve had a chance to get to know you, my affectionate side comes out in full force, and you’ll soon have a loyal little shadow by your side. The kennel team say I’m one of the cuddliest boys around. I absolutely love being held and snuggled up close to my favourite people. If you’re sitting down, there’s a good chance I’ll be trying to find my way onto your lap for some quality cuddle time! And if that wasn’t enough, I’m also very generous with my kisses – I love giving little licks to the people I care about to show them just how much they mean to me.I’m currently living with my doggy family, so I may be able to live with another dog in my new home following successful introductions.Like many little dogs, I can be a bit barky when I’m out and about and spot other dogs. I like to make sure everyone knows I’m there! But please don’t let that put you off. I’m a lovely boy underneath it all and have happily lived with other dogs before.I’ve never met a cat, so the kennel team aren’t sure whether I’d be able to live with one or not.I’ve also been around children before and enjoyed being part of family life, so I could potentially live with children who are respectful and understand that I may need a little time to settle into my new surroundings. The kennel team are still getting to know me and will update my profile as they learn more about my personality, likes, dislikes, and ideal home.If you’re looking for a sweet, affectionate boy who loves cuddles, being held, and giving kisses, then I could be the one you’ve been waiting for.Could you be my forever family? My adoption fee is £260.

Cheeko & Queenie, a 8 years old female Chihuahua available for adoption from Last Chance Animal Rescue in Kent

Last Chance Animal Rescue

Cheeko & Queenie

Kent
SexFemale
Age8 years
BreedChihuahua

Colour: Ginger / WhiteLocation: Edenbridge Cheeko and Queenie have come into us due to a decline in their owners health. They are a lovely pair who are looking to be rehomed together. Both are very affectionate lapdogs who would love nothing more than an owner who is around for most of the day to cuddle with. Despite their size they love their long walks so will need an active owner. They aren’t overly fussed with toys though do occasionally enjoy playing. They are typical chihuahuas who can be quite vocal at first. Cheeko isn’t keen on children handling him too much and can become quite distressed around them so due to this they are looking for an adult only home or a home with older teenage children who can respect when to give both Queenie and Cheeko their space. They can be quite anxious around other dogs so would be best suited as the only dogs in the home. Cheeko and Queenie would truly make great companions to the right home and would never fail to make you smile. If you are looking for a cuddly lapdog then Cheeko and Queenie could be the dogs for you. Please don’t hesitate to come down to our Edenbridge centre to meet them.
