Super sweet and special girl, seeking a specific forever home who will love her despite her differences.Gigi came in to our care from the pound along with her friend Madison, when they first came in she had to have a dental and skin samples sent off. Thankfully the skin results were nothing to worry about and she has healed well from her dental. Gigi is a super friendly girl, who loves doing zoomies when she is excited. Though she does have a calmer side and loves cuddles and attention. Gigi is a 'special needs' dog, what this means is she has deformaties to her back legs, so she just needs a very loving and understanding home.She is good with other dogs and could be rehomed with her friend Madison the other chinese crested, or also happy to be a pampered princess.Unlike Madison, Gigi was not able to have her bent bad leg removed as her other back leg also has deformaties (which can be seen in her xrays) and so the vets didnt want to risk any further weakness or instability through removing any legs. But Gigi is a super happy girl and can walk and run and jump just like any other dog. She will just always have a deformed back leg that she will often just have held up and dangling. She is not in pain or anything at all, she is just special.Offcourse the girls dont have to go to a home togeather, and if Gigi doesnt find a home she will be remaining here in our home. Gigi does not require any special care at the moment, but offcourse as she gets older she may require support for arthritis as it likely will occur as she gets older. She would also benefit from regular ongoing physio, may that be at home or with a professional. She has already had a session with an animal physio and she seemed to enjoy the session and was very relaxed.Given her differences, a home with kids over 12yrs old is best, so no young kids accidentally fall on her and hurt her. But she is friendly with everyone she has met and is a great girl. She will need basic training such as house training, as i dont think they were 'pets' before we got them, they have most likely been from some kind of puppy farm or backyard breeder given their deformaties and poor health on arrival. She walks ok on the lead but might need some continued basic training. She would be best in a home with human or dog company most of the time. But is also ok in a crate or play pen for a few hours no problem.Gigi is a hairy hairless chinese crested, which means the only hair she has is on her head and feet, so she does require some regular baths to keep her skin clean just like us humans. And extra protection or care is required during the summer months to prevent sunburn.. :)I WILL GET NEW PHOTOS UPLOADED SOON.

Madison is a lively, loving and fun little lady seeking her forever home.Madison came into our care from the dog pound due to her and her friend Gigi having deformed back legs and other medical requirements. After xrays and many vet consults, specialist vet consults and even an assessment by an animal physiotherapost. sadly Madisons back leg was not fixable, as it had been left untreated for too long and the formed leg had fused solid in a bent shape. She was not able to use the bad leg and it just hung there. So she has just had her leg removed there by our vets there on the 8th of July and she hasnt looked back since. She seems so much more happy and free now, you would think she had lived her whole life on three legs. Though to a degree I suppose she had prior to the amputation, as her bad leg was not usable. :/When she came into rescue she also had bad teeth, but our vets did a full dental and she is now up to date on all vet care and is a happy and healthy girl who is ready to start her new life. Madison is great with other dogs of all sizes, and could live with another dog pending meet and greet.
