Tiny Jasmine, who is seven years old, came into our care recently after she was found abandoned in a property. This lovely little dog has never once seen the world, because we think she was born blind. Despite not being able to see she gets around well, and she loves fuss and attention. However, you’ll need to let her know you are there first, with a soft word or a gentle hand held out. Because she can’t see you coming, a sudden touch can frighten her, and she may snap. It’s just her way of saying “I didn’t know you were there”. Jasmine has been staying with a wonderful foster carer, who has discovered that she very quickly bonds with ‘her person’. She has been a little worried by the other dogs in her foster home and can be reactive if they come close while she’s having cuddles. For this reason, Jasmine will need to be the only dog in her new home, so that she can have all of the love for herself.
