Max

Max is a very loving and affectionate little boy who absolutely loves cuddles and being close to his people. He has bags of personality and once settled, has lots of love to give in return. Max has sadly experienced IVDD and has been through a particularly difficult period with his recovery. He was previously paralysed for around four months and suffered a further relapse around June 2026, which affected his back legs again. He is now recovering and can currently walk for around 25 minutes, although his exercise will need to be carefully managed and he may need help being lifted when necessary. Max is generally sociable with other dogs once he has had time to get to know them. However, he can be nervous when meeting dogs on lead and may bark, react or snap if he feels threatened. He can particularly struggle with puppies and very bouncy dogs, which he can find overwhelming. Once he knows a dog and feels comfortable, he enjoys their company and can be off lead with them.
