Rusti’s story nearly ended far too soon. Adopted from Romania as a puppy, she was taken to the vet at seven years old to be put to sleep. Thankfully, the vet refused and contacted Islay Dog Rescue for help when the original rescue could not.This lovely girl adores cuddles and enjoys the company of other dogs on walks. In the home, she has shown some reactivity towards female dogs, so she would be happiest as the only dog or with a calm, confident male companion.In her foster home, Rusti lived peacefully alongside cats and would often sleep beside them. While she has shown no aggression, she may chase if they run, so a dog-savvy cat or careful introductions would be ideal.She walks beautifully on the lead with no pulling, though she can be a little hesitant when walked by new people. Rusti is fully house-trained and travels very well—happily jumping into the car and settling down for the journey.At home, she can initially be wary of new visitors, particularly men, and may bark at first....
