Key Facts About Teddy
Description
Can you believe that this big fluffy boy was picked up as a stray and remained unclaimed. 😔He is a long haired Shar-Pei and is estimated to be around 2 years old. When he arrived with us, it was immediately clear that he had issues with his eyes that were caused by entropion. 😥Entropion is a painful condition where the eyelids roll inwards, causing the eyelashes and fur to rub the eye’s surface, which of course is incredibly painful and irritating. Left untreated, entropion causes severe discomfort and can lead to infections and ulcers potentially leaving scarring on the eye. Breeds like the Shar-Pei are more prone to this condition due to their excess amount of skin on their face. The only permanent solution for entropion is surgery and after Teddy had served his 7 days in the stray kennels, he was signed over to our care and we got his operated on straight away to try and out an end to this poor boys discomfort. 💕
