Casper, a 9 months old male Shar Pei available for adoption from Ashbourne Animal Welfare in Derbyshire

Casper

Derbyshire
SexMale
Age9 months
BreedShar Pei

Casper is a very striking looking boy who came to us for rehoming as the home he was living in wasn’t meeting his needs, a kind person was helping his owner find Casper a new home. He’s only 9 months old, so hes a big puppy with lots of energy and enthusiasm! He loves people and is always happy to say hello! He’s lived with children, and could go to a home with children over 5yrs. Casper is very affectionate, but he is still young and can be boisterous! He’s lived with other dogs, and had met others dogs whilst with us… he could probably share his home with other dogs again, preferably a spayed female. He’s not used to cats.Casper is said to be okay being left, but as he’s young it wouldn’t be be fair to leave him for long periods. He has been crated in the past, but was spending up to 20+ hours a day in the crate, so may have negative associations with them. He’s had very little training, and will more than likely need to start from the beginning again. As he’s a youngster, he’s got lots of energy and needs plenty of exercise in his new home, as well as mental stimulation to keep his mind busy!

Are you right for Edie?Edie is a beautiful 7-year-old Shar Pei who has been waiting to find her forever home longer than any other dog in our centre. She’s spent most of her life with us hoping that someone will see the amazing dog we see. She is very shy initially but with a little time and plenty of treats she will soon be nudging you for a bit of fuss! She’s also worried by other dogs, but she’s proven that in a home where she won’t see them up close, she is a dream. She's been for sleepovers to her handlers home and she was the perfect house guest! Very relaxed, fully housetrained, and happy to just chill out. We know that in a peaceful adult only home where she’ll be the only pet she will thrive.

Are you right for Gretel?Gretel is on the search for her forever home! Gretel would like to be the only dog in the home. Gretel likes people and can have visitors once she has had time to settle into her new environment. She can live with children aged 16+ who are dog-savvy and able to respect her space when needed. She would like her new home to continue with positive, friendly vet visits. Her leave hours could be 2-4 hours, which will need to be built up slowly as she settles into the home. Gretel would love to have a secure, private garden so that she can enjoy time off-lead and allow for plenty of opportunities for her to smell all of the good outdoors smells!

Gus, a 3 years old male Shar Pei x French Bulldog available for adoption from Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home in Scotland

Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home

Gus

Scotland
SexMale
Age3 years
BreedShar Pei x French Bulldog

Gus is looking for an owner who have had dogs before, preferably French bulldogs or shar-peis so they can fully appreciate him. He will need an owner who is committed to working on his confidence building and social skills. He may be able to live with high school aged children but would like to be the only pet. Gus is a real character with heaps of personality. He is a friendly boy but does lack in confidence when it comes to meeting new people and dogs. With encouragement and positive guidance, he is more than capable of making friends so he is sure to flourish with an owner who will help him feel brave when in these situations whilst not overwhelming him. Once he has been given that time he just wants to be with you, is cuddly and extremely people orientated so is bound to be your little shadow. He loves to play and will happily carry his favourite squeaky toy or tennis ball. He does enjoy his walks, however as he is a flat faced breed, his new owner must be very sensible when exercising him and not allow him to overexert himself. Gus does have some medical issues. More information will be discussed with successful applicants.

Lola, a 6 years old female Shar Pei available for adoption from Dogs Trust in Greater London

Dogs Trust

Lola

Greater London
SexFemale
Age6 years
BreedShar Pei

Are you right for Lola?Loveable lady Lola is looking for understanding adopters, who could take the time to get to know her gradually, and who have the interest to teach their furry-friend new skills. A sensitive pooch at times, Lola is seeking an adult-only family, who lead a quieter, yet active lifestyle. Her ideal home setup would be somewhere calm and peaceful, where she can settle in at her own pace and enjoy a zoom about in the garden. Lola has been building up her confidence around walking where other dogs are nearby. However, she can be overwhelmed when other dogs come too close to her and would best be suited to quieter walking areas, away from the hustle and bustle of busy town centres or dog parks. Lola must be the only pet in her new abode and will need to wear her muzzle when out in public. She is fully muzzle-trained and has learnt to wear this using positive reinforcement training. Lola would benefit from a secure and private garden that she can enjoy with her family. Lola has some medical considerations that will be discussed with our vet team upon a booking.

Louie, a 9 years old male Shar Pei x Staffordshire Bull Terrier available for adoption from RSPCA in East Sussex

RSPCA

Louie

East Sussex
SexMale
Age9 years
BreedShar Pei x Staffordshire Bull Terrier

If you think you can offer Louie the lifestyle he is looking for and commit to his ongoing training, please fill in the form below.Upon arrival at the shelter Louie was very anxious and untrusting of new people. It has taken several months of care and rehabilitation to turn him into the wonderful boy he has now become (he is a firm favourite amongst the kennel staff).Louie is a very intelligent, determined boy who knows what he wants and when he wants it! He loves to play and a roll in the long grass, he loves water and enjoys the paddling pool. He has a massive toy box in his kennel and spends his day choosing different toys.He is also an incredibly sensitive boy. Louie doesn’t like loud noises, wind or heavy rain. He will flinch at sudden movements and new situations can really worry him. He accepts handling really well from the people he trusts but takes a while to warm to new people. Out and about Louie will ignore everything else that is going on (dogs and people) but does not like it if anyone invades his personal space.Louie is housetrained and knows his name, sit, paw, down, come, speak and leave on command. He mostly walks well on the lead unless he knows he is going somewhere exciting. Louie is muzzle trained for seeing the vet and for formal handling (his paws are very sensitive).Scroll through the gallery of images above or click to openΔdocument.getElementById( "ak_js_1" ).setAttribute( "value", ( new Date() ).getTime() );You must have an appointment booked after applying to adopt in order to meet the animals. You are welcome to drop off donations at any time or come into our reception office with any enquiries. We are constantly striving to improve all aspects of our work.
