A natural introvert, Watson is a sensitive soul who very much enjoys gentle interactions with people once he has had time to take everything in. Because of this, he tends to keep all his emotions inside and so doesn’t tend to greet people as exuberantly as some of the other greyhounds available for adoption. Watson spent close to a month in a quiet foster home recently as part of our home assessment/kennel respite programme to help us better understand how he might find home life. He did really well, causing his foster carer to excitedly comment, “There’s so much good news with this boy! I’ve loved having him.” Watson settled into the home environment with relative ease. Within a few days, he was no longer bothered by home appliances or the TV and had perfected the toileting routine. By the end of the first week, he had cracked the stairs and was sleeping right through the night in an open crate in his foster carer’s room.
