Romney ? Could you be Amber's Forever Person? ?Amber is a young Saluki cross with a huge heart and an even bigger love for life. Currently fostered in Rainham, Kent, she is looking for a patient and dedicated family who can give her the stability and understanding she deserves.Still under a year old, Amber is energetic and playful and will need a large, secure garden where she can stretch her legs and enjoy playtime. She loves other dogs and would happily spend all day making new canine friends.Amber has faced more challenges than most dogs her age. Following hip surgery, she is recovering well and continues to make great progress with her rehabilitation. She can be nervous around unfamiliar people, children and places, and experiences separation anxiety, however she has already made fantastic progress, and with patience, kindness and consistency she continues to grow in confidence every day.Once you've earned her trust, Amber's affectionate nature shines through. She loves cuddles, enjoys relaxing on the sofa with her people, and is content to settle while someone works from home, as long as she receives regular attention and enrichment.Amber is looking for active adopters, preferably with experience of Salukis, who are home for much of the day and willing to continue her training, socialisation and rehabilitation journey. If you're ready to help a special young dog reach her full potential, Amber could be the perfect match. You'll need to be prepared to meet her a few times so you can get to know each other. In return, you'll gain a loyal, loving companion who simply needs the right person to help her flourish.

Breed - Saluki LurcherGender - Male (neutered)Date of Birth - August 2023Can live with dogs? Needs a companionCan live with cats? NoCan live with children? 10+ years Location - West SussexHe was living in London before being handed into Battersea - he really struggled in this environment and sadly Battersea put him on code red as they felt he was not rehomeable, although we have no idea why! He’s never shown a single ounce of aggression - he is a loving and affectionate dog who adores his walks! He came to join us approx 1.5yrs ago and is a wonderful happy boy! He absolutely loves to play and loves other dogsThere is however a BIG BUT - he is absolutely terrified of travelling in a vehicle - he arrived shut in the dark in a small purpose built travel cage in the back of a Battersea van and has never got over this.

BreedSaluki

Saluki Black and Tan 1 Year (approx) Ref: DS015 Apply now Benedict is a loving, sensitive boy with a gentle nature. This young Saluki takes life at his own pace and enjoys quietly getting to know the world around him. Once comfortable, Benedict is incredibly affectionate and loves being close to his people. He enjoys cuddles, belly rubs, and stretching out on the sofa or bed with all four legs in the air. Around the home, he is calm, house trained, rarely barks, settles well, and is polite around food. Benedict loves being outdoors and his curious Saluki nature shines when exploring. He walks beautifully on the lead and would make a wonderful adventure companion for someone who enjoys getting out and about. He is also happy travelling in the car. He may need a little encouragement getting in and out, but once settled he travels beautifully and securely in the back seats. Like many sighthounds, Benedict is an independent thinker with a high prey drive. His recall is still a work in progress, and he cannot be trusted off lead in open spaces. He will need to continue using a long line or secure lead attachment while his training develops. A very secure garden is essential. Benedict is naturally curious and loves exploring, so his family will need to be mindful of open windows, doors, and unlocked gates, as he may look for opportunities to go on his own adventures. He would not suit a home where he can be left unsupervised outside. Benedict has been polite with dogs he has met and could potentially live with another wellmatched dog following successful introductions. Due to his high prey drive, he would not be suitable to live with cats or small animals. Benedict is still a young dog who will benefit from continued positive training and guidance. With patience and plenty of love he will make a wonderful companion for the right home. ️ I walk nicely on a lead I could live with children of any age I need someone with me most of the time I may be able to live with another dog I'd prefer not to live with a cat I'm quiet but full of love I love fuss and attention DOG Saluki Black and Tan 1 Year (approx) Ref: DS015

Are you right for Bonnie?Bonnie is an 1-year-old Saluki x Lurcher looking for a calm, patient home where she can build her confidence at her own pace. She is a very sweet and gentle girl, but she is naturally shy and worried when meeting new people, particularly men. Bonnie takes several positive interactions to feel comfortable and often does best when new people initially ignore her and allow her to approach in her own time. Any new adopters will need to meet her here at the centre multiple times before she goes home. Once she trusts you, she loves affection and enjoys a fuss. Bonnie would benefit from a home with use of some secure outdoor space due to her being nervous of new environments a space where she can relax and gain confidence. She has a medium energy level and enjoys meeting other dogs, becoming playful and excitable during introductions. She could live with another dog (neutered if male), pending a successful dog mix at the centre, but would need to a home with no cats or small furries due to prey drive. Bonnie can live with older secondary aged children who are comfortable around nervous dogs.Is Bonnie right for you?Bonnie is looking for adopters who understand that building trust takes time and are willing to let her settle at her own pace. She has a history of separation anxiety and cannot currently be left alone. Any time spent alone will need to be introduced gradually using positive training, patience, and consistency. Bonnie loves a treat so useful for training and once you gain her trust she loves nothing more than a fuss and a cuddle. In return for your understanding and commitment, Bonnie will reward you with her gentle nature, affectionate personality, and loyal companionship once she feels safe and secure.

Saluki Brindle 4 Years (approx) Ref: C2026061 Buddy came into our care after we did a dog swap with RSPCA Coventry Branch. Upon Arrival Buddy immediatley let his personality shine. He absolutely adores playing with water and laying out in paddling pools. He also loves nothing more than running offleash on our enclosed back field. Buddy can becomes worried when meeting selected new people. He can become tense and a little vocal, however he soon comes around. Because of this he will need a undertsanding owner, he help him grow his confidence around new people. Buddy walks beautifully on lead when going off site and just trots along, having sniffs. Buddy can become frustrated by other dogs while out on walks and may bark and lunge when he is unable to access them. This behaviour appears to stem from frustration rather than aggression. We can work with his adopters to build his confidence, teach alternative behaviours, and help him learn to approach and interact with other dogs in a calm and polite manner over time. Buddy could live with older secondary school children (14+) and would prefer being the only animal in the home. He could be left for short periods once he has settled into his new home.Buddy adoption fee is £495.00, which includes:• Neutering• Flea and worm treatments• Full vaccination course• A onehour onetoone training session• Four weeks of PetPlan insurance I know how to sit (and lots of other commands too!) A lamb in disguiseLikes & Needs: A lover of older teenagers; Happy living as the only pet; Such a happy, loving boy; Getting there with his housetraining; Happy with a 1-2 hour leave time; A very high prey drive; Requires a secure garden with 6 ft fencing, solely for himself and loves a hired out field to sprint in; Does wear a muzzle and kept on lead when walkedCompatibility: Cats: No; Dogs: No; Children: See age criteriaLegs like spaghetti, Falkor is such a happy boy who is raring to go. It can take time for him to warm to your kindness but once your best friend, he springs along like a lamb, carrying his toys in his mouth. Falkor loves cuddle time on the sofa, playing with tennis balls and given the opportunity, helping himself to food if left within eye reach.Loving the outdoors, particularly when it’s nice and warm, Falkor would love a garden to sunbathe and zoom around in. His fencing must be 6ft + due to his very high prey drive and he must be walked wearing a muzzle. He is a fantastic walker but hiring out a secure field would be ideal for off lead exercise.
