Atlas, a 1 year old male Siberian Husky available for adoption from Pads Dog Rescue in Scotland

BreedSiberian Husky

Atlas arrived with us through no fault of his own. Atlas has missed out on vital training and socialisation in his first year. With the help of his breeder we’ve had him fostered but sadly he will struggle to live with other pets and children. He was fostered with another dog but was a bit of a bully and then reactive when our walking, he was ok with the cats initially and then began hunting them. As he’s not reliable around other dogs, and a Husky, we would be prefer he had his own private garden for off-lead exercise. He really will need an experienced sled dog adult-only home where he can learn boundaries and manners.

Aven, a 8 years old male Siberian Husky available for adoption from Dogs Trust in Norfolk

Aven

Norfolk
SexMale
Age8 years
BreedSiberian Husky

Are you right for Aven?Aven is an absolute sweetheart who at 10 years old would love to find a family of his own. Aven was found as a stray so his background history is unknown, but since being in foster he has quickly gained confidence. He could live with sensible children who are secondary school aged or older, who can understand he might be a little worried to start with. He doesn't take long to become comfortable with someone new though and once he does, he will nudge you for a fuss! Aven loves spending time in the garden and in typical husky-fashion, loves playing in the snow! Aven has the potential to live with a calm dog but this would be depending on meets at the centre. Aven has learnt that going in the car = fun adventures, so he now happily jumps in to the car and travels nicely. Aven does have ongoing medical needs but this doesn't hold him back in any way. He is on long term pain relief and has just started hydro/physio-therapy which he has been enjoying.

She made her journey to the UK in October 2020. Sadly, the initial home she went to, her family felt they were unable to give her the lifestyle and environment that she truly needs to thrive. She is now seeking her forever home. Blue is a loving and devoted dog with a lot of personality, and she thrives in an environment where she feels safe, loved, and mentally challenged. Blue is a wonderful companion, and a very devoted dog with those she knows and trusts. She has so much personality and is a highly intelligent dog who picks up new tricks and games very quickly. She thrives on mental enrichment and appreciates her ‘rest days’, playing more indoor brain games than physical. She loves playing tug, and ‘find it’ with toys and treats - her sense of smell is amazing! She also loves her sleep and when relaxed she can snooze for hours. While Blue is an active dog who enjoys long walks in rural areas, she has a very strong natural prey drive and finds animal activity stimulating. This means she needs a home with a secure garden and high boundaries, at least 6 feet, where she can feel safe and relaxed. A rural location with minimal distractions would be ideal for her to enjoy her walks and downtime. Before arriving at the sanctuary, Blue could be reactive towards other dogs while out on walks. However, with time and patience, she’s made significant progress in socialising and now enjoys walks with a select few doggy friends. She’s cautious with new dogs and prefers a calm, gradual introduction process. With the right guidance, she can build new friendships slowly, but this requires ongoing management. Blue requires a patient, experienced adopter who understands her needs and is committed to helping her continue to progress. She would thrive in a quiet, adult only home in a rural setting where she can decompress at her own pace. Given her high prey drive and preference for a calm environment, Blue will need to be the only pet in the home. Blue’s journey has been a long one, up to this point, but she has shown how capable she is of growth and adaptation. If you are someone who is willing to put in the time and effort, you will be rewarded with a deeply loyal, loving companion who has so much to offer. BreedSiberian Husky

Blue is a Siberian Husky. Born approx January 2022. Blue is a very handsome boy with the most stunning blue eyes. He is a very friendly boy and loves people. He doesn’t seem to have had much training but he is a very fast learner. We are working with him on his manners and teaching him not to jump up. He loves treats so training is relatively easy but he is a typical Husky and sometimes he will just do his own thing! Blue has lots of energy and loves to be outside to run around and play. He will bring his ball or toy back to you. He walks ok on his lead but will benefit from a harness. He is a strong boy so will need someone who can handle him. Blue is a typical stubborn Husky with a mind of his own so his new owners will need to have experience of the breed. If you are interested in Blue, please phone Gyll Mauchline (Between 9:00 and 17:00) on: 01778 424953 or 07708 589792. Bowie, a 11 years old male Siberian Husky available for adoption from Manchester and Cheshire Dogs Home in Greater Manchester

Manchester and Cheshire Dogs Home

Bowie

Greater Manchester
SexMale
Age11 years
BreedSiberian Husky

This absolute gentleman is Bowie! Bowie is looking for a quiet retirement home where he can have some nice walks and then chill on the sofa. He is quite an independent dog who will do his own thing and then come over when he wants fuss and strokes. At this stage in his life he just wants lots of love and a warm fire that he can relax in front of. Bowie has socialised well with other dogs whilst in our care but wasn’t too sure about the more playful and boisterous ones. We feel Bowie would be best rehomed as the only dog in the home where he can 100% of the cuddles and attention. Bowie would love a private secure garden that he can potter about in.We are unsure how Bowie would react around cats.As Bowie came into the home as a stray we have no previous history on him so would prefer any children in the home to be 14+ years.*Applications that are successful will be provided with further information on each dog to the best of the charity’s knowledge

Dakota And Tikani, a 5 years old female Alaskan Malamute X Siberian Husky available for adoption from Dogs Friends in Somerset

Dogs Friends

Dakota And Tikani

Somerset
SexFemale
Age5 years
BreedAlaskan Malamute X Siberian Husky

Background –Dakota and Takani have joined us after a sad change in circumstances meant their owner could no longer care for them.Character –These girls are a gorgeous pair that people have nothing but good things to say about. They gain comfort and confidence from being together and are the best of friends, playing happily together (even if they could do with a bit more spatial awareness when they do so!).Type of home –The girls are looking for a calm but active home – they love being outside. They haven’t previously lived with dogs but they are friendly with the dogs they meet, so they may be able to live in a home with other dogs. Whilst not tested with cats, they have never shared a home with felines, so we think they’d be best suited to a home without cats. When on lead, the girls can be very strong and excitable, so they will need a confident handler. Both girls have travelled well with us, although they do need some initial encouragement, and are used to being left for short periods. However, they do have typical husky vocals, so they may not be suited to noise-sensitive homes. The girls are residents at our Kennels between Cheddar and Wells and potential adopters will need to meet them here. Our catchment area for rehoming is Somerset and the local surrounding areas (such as Bristol, Bath, Weston Super Mare and Wiltshire).
