Dakota is a beautiful grey and white crossbreed who came into our care from her previous home through no fault of her own. This young dog is loving and very smart and loves to learn new commands, she already understands sit and touch and is currently learning “middle” (standing between your legs)Dakota has lots of energy so is looking for adopters who are active and have time to dedicate to her needs, at least 2 walks a day with playtime and mental stimulation throughout the day. When it comes to playtime she adores toys and squeaky balls and will happily amuse herself. Any new adopters will find that Dakota is such a clever dog and she also loves challenging treat puzzles to keep her entertained. As she is full of bounce, this sweet dog has found life in our kennels frustrating and can become a handful when attempting to harness her, however our incredible carers have discovered a great method to keep her calm in these circumstances which they will definitely teach to her new adopters.As she is still a young dog, meeting people is still very exciting and whether you are new to her or a friendly face she will still jump high to greet you. Cuddles are even more overstimulating for Dakota and at times she will attempt to mouth as if she is still a young puppy, thankfully she can be easily redirected onto a toy when she does this. She has the zoomies traits of a lurcher with the high energy bumps (boisterous at times) of a bull breed. Due to this we are saying she should live with children 16+.Dakota has shown good social behaviours around other dogs, however she is still inexperienced with meeting dogs on lead, therefore we are looking for a home where she will be the only dogHowever, if the perfect home comes along we may be tempted to attempt a dog mix to see how it goes.Once she is in her new home with adopters who provide the outlets she needs to release her current pent up energy she is going to thrive and continue to develop into such a fun and joyful dog who will enjoy a cosy cuddle on the sofa at the end of the day.Here’s where we ask more questions about you, your lifestyle and what you’re looking for in a dog. Fred, bless him, is in a bit of a pickle, and he is looking for a new home. He is currently with wonderful adopters but unfortunately they are having some family health issues and are unable to commit to the ongoing confidence building to enable Fred to reach his full potential.Fred is very nervous of pretty much everyone and everything. Visitors to the house and the outside world in general. It took him a long time to trust enough to come out of his crate and he retreats back quickly if anything startles him.Fred needs time. A lot of time. He needs a home with minimal visitors, no children and consistent care givers. He someone / a couple who will commit to helping him overcome his fear, however long that might take. It is thought that a confident resident dog would be good for him but introductions would need to be at his pace.Fred has such amazing potential. He loves belly rubs, is house trained and is happy to be left alone for up to 4 hours. He is not aggressive in the slightest but does try and pretend he is when he’s barking at the people/other dogs on the street. He loves fuss when he’s comfortable with someone, and he’s very clever and eager to learn. He has a repertoire of tricks that would put a border collie to shame!Freds current family have not managed to get him out on a proper walk yet, or a car journey but with time and patience there is a sociable, friendly lap dog in there desperate to get out. He just needs an experienced committed owner and their confident dog to help him shine.Fred is still a young dog. It’s not too late for him to put the horrors of his past behind him because, lets face it, his previous reality is why he is struggling so much now. Let’s help replace those memories with new ones full of love and cuddles, and gentle words and actions.

Lady Wallace is a sweet girl who came into us as a stray from the Bristol area. She adores cuddles and strokes, and when meeting people she greets them well and goes straight over to say hello. She enjoys cuddles from people almost instantly but does appreciates breaks so she can take time out if she wants to.Once Lady Wallace gets to know you she will show her more playful side. She likes toys and zooming around, being a crazy lurcher! She enjoys sunbathing and having a cuddle on the sofa but as she came into us as a stray, we are not sure what her past life was like.Lady Wallace is good putting her harness on, and walks nicely on the lead. She can be anxious when passing big vehicles so prefers to walk away from main roads.We have seen Lady Wallace display some excited behaviours towards other dogs that seem friendly to her – it seems that she would like to play with them. However, due to the sores on her body and potential pain related to them, we feel it is best for her to be housed without any other dogs. (She came into us with sores on both sides of her hips, which she had been worrying at. They have healed up well and are looking a lot better). On her medical history it says she is prone to fits, however we have not seen any in the centre, but is still something to keep in mind.Lady Wallace is very sweet once she gets to know you and her ears perk up when you call her name – she’ll come running over to you for attention. She enjoys treat games but doesn’t know basic obedience (sit/down). Maiden is a very affectionate lurcher who only wants cuddles, she came into our care as a stray and sadly was never claimed so is now looking for a new home. Due to how much she loves people and insists on being the centre of attention we has assessed her to have mild separation anxiety and therefore will need to live in a home where someone will be living with her most of the time to help her really flourish and settle in her new environment.This super playful dog really enjoys playing with toys, especially tennis balls and will zoom around after them. She walks nicely on her lead with no pulling but as she is a typical lurcher she has a high and active prey drive and an alert keenness to chase, so her adopters will need to keep her on lead at all time unless she is is a secure and private dog field. We are currently muzzle training her so if her adopters would like to use a muzzle they must continue this training.Maiden LOVES a treat and will get very overexcited when given them so ‘boring’ treats are good for her so she doesn’t get too pushy. She is very intelligent and knows ‘sit’ and ‘touch’ and we have been teaching her ‘middle’ and other tricks to keep her mind engaged other than just cuddling all the time. She does have a slightly longer coat in some areas so would need brushing every so often to smooth out any areas that are getting a bit knotty.When meeting new people she can get quite worried but with calm introductions she will grow to love spending time with her adopters as Maiden really is a sweet affectionate dog.Here’s where we ask more questions about you, your lifestyle and what you’re looking for in a dog. Our Tex is a 3 year old male Chihuahua looking for a ranch to call home.This little guy is very friendly and loves attention but can come across as uninterested with new people while he gets used to them, but once comfortable he’s playful, sometimes cheeky and at the end of a long day likes to snuggle his human.Tex enjoys moseying about and sniffing around on walks but can be vocally reactive to other dogs so would benefit being exercised away from them unless his new owner is prepared to work on reactivity at distance with him. He’s an intelligent boy and wants to learn, especially if there are teeny tiny treats on offer. He is already nailing sit, down etc, so this could become a nice activity for both dog and owner.However, having small legs Tex doesn’t need big long walks, 1 or 2 short walks and time exploring a large garden would be fine for him, making him a nice companion dog for somebody less mobile.Although he’s happy trotting around his surroundings doing his own thing, he can get anxious if left on his own for too long so would do best in a home where someone is around most of the time.
