Meet Barnaby – A Big-Hearted Gentleman Looking for His Forever Home Barnaby is a 9-year-old Dalmatian who came into our care following the very sad passing of his much-loved owner. Despite this loss, Barnaby remains a loving, happy boy who greets everyone he meets with his signature teethy grin and a wagging tail. Barnaby adores his walks and nothing makes him happier than heading out on a “Sniffari” to explore the world through his nose – his absolute favourite pastime! He is a strong lad and can pull on the lead, so his future adopters should be prepared to continue working on his lead manners and feel confident managing his strength. A real lovable goof, Barnaby would thrive in a family home and could live happily with older children who understand and respect his space. Barnaby finds being around other dogs challenging and can struggle with his reactions. He will require ongoing, patient training and support to help him feel more comfortable and manage his responses when encountering other dogs. To help set him up for success, Barnaby is currently undergoing muzzle training, which will need to be continued in the home. He will wear a muzzle on walks to support his safety and the safety of those around him. Medical Needs: Barnaby does have some ongoing medical needs that adopters will need to take into consideration. He requires lifelong medication and monitoring. He has a history of bladder crystals and is therefore on a strict diet to help manage this condition, along with bi-annual to annual blood tests. As a senior gent, Barnaby also experiences some age-related stiffness in his legs and receives pain relief to keep him comfortable. Additionally, he can suffer from itchy skin and allergies, for which he takes medication to help ease the discomfort. Barnaby may be a little older, but he has so much love left to give. He’s looking for a kind, understanding home where he can enjoy his walks, indulge in plenty of sniffing adventures, and spend his days surrounded by people who adore him just as much as he’ll adore them in return. Bart is a beautiful ex racing greyhound who has come to after a career on the track Bart is an affectionate boy who loves meeting new people, going on walks with the volunteers, and looooong naps! Bart loves his food, short bursts of energy, and lots of chill! He does have a prey drive being an ex racer, but is not as bad as some! Biscuit is as sweet as his name depicts! He is a Jack Russell boy who came to us as part of a group. He has always lived in a pack and finds the company of dogs helps his confidence Biscuit can be shy at first, but soon comes round and wants to be close to you, he is a sweet chap with soulful eyes and so much potential. Sadly he didn’t get out and see much of the world when he was a pup, so a lot of things are still new for him! He would appreciate a family that is gentle and kind and can introduce him to new things at his own pace. However, he is quietly inquisitive and it won’t be long before we see a whole new lot of confidence from this short legged legend. Blue is an active Lurcher who has come to us from the stray kennels – we suspect he has been a pet before as he finds kennels stressful although he does have strong hunting instincts typical of his breed too! Blue is an active boy rather than a lazy Lurcher. He loves to chase a ball and is obsessed! (Great fly ball prospect?!) he can be strong on the lead so needs a capable walking human, however he is food motivated and very trainable Blue is friendly with all humans however we think he is a little too headstrong to go with children and would do better in an adult home experienced with large dogs; he is young and does need someone with time and energy for him, he will reward you with love ! Meet Cara – Our Sofa-Loving, Goofball Boxer Cross Cara is a stunning 3-year-old Boxer cross with a smushy face, and a goofy personality that’s impossible not to smile at. She’s full of playful energy, a true bouncy bundle of joy who’s always ready for a cuddle or a zoom around the garden. Cara is a homebody at her core. She absolutely adores her home comforts and can often be found lazing on the sofa. She has no idea how big she is – she’s very much a “chihuahua in a mastiff’s body”, convinced she’s a lap dog and happiest when soaking up all the cuddles she can get! Cara is incredibly affectionate with the people she knows and trusts, but she can be wary of unfamiliar people, particularly men. She needs slow, positive introductions on her terms, outside the home with plenty of tasty treats (hot dogs are a favourite!). Its really important that people can be respectful of her boundaries – because of this, she’s looking for an adult-only home that’s quiet, consistent, and free from too many visitors. When it comes to training, Cara is a bright spark. She responds well to positive reinforcement and enjoys learning, especially when food is involved. She’ll need adopters who are committed to continuing her training and helping her manage new or challenging situations. Cara also has a wonderfully goofy, energetic side. She loves nothing more than running around like the clown she is, and trips to secure fields where she can stretch her legs and let off steam are an absolute must for her. Cara is friendly with other dogs on walks and enjoys parallel walks with canine companions. However, she much prefers to have her home to herself, where she can soak up all the attention. A true Staffy at heart, Cleo is bold and boisterous when it’s playtime, yet wonderfully sensitive and affectionate when it’s time to relax.
