Beau And Chica, a 10 years old female Chihuahua available for adoption from Cheltenham Animal Shelter in Gloucestershire

Cheltenham Animal Shelter

Beau And Chica

Gloucestershire
SexFemale
Age10 years
BreedChihuahua

Double the dogs, double the love! Beau and Chica are two adorable little sisters looking for a home together, as they’ve never known life without one another and are not just sisters, but absolute besties too. These lovely girls are happiest when life is calm and cosy, whether that’s snuggled up in a comfy bed, enjoying plenty of cuddles (Chica is particularly enthusiastic about those!), or soaking up the sunshine during one of Chica’s favourite sunbathing sessions. They also have a serious appreciation for hot dog sausages, so if you’ve got those in your pocket, you’ll have two very interested little shadows! They can be a little wary of new people at first, but Beau usually likes to check everything is safe before Chica takes her cue from her sister. It doesn’t take long before they’re both happily enjoying all the love and fuss on offer.Beau and Chica would love a peaceful home in a quieter area, away from lots of traffic and hustle and bustle, where they can truly relax and be themselves. They could live with older teenagers and above, as younger children can make them feel anxious, and they’re looking to be the only pets in the home as other dogs and animals can be a little overwhelming for them. They’ve previously been comfortable being left for a few hours, making them a lovely match for many households. If you’re looking for two sweet little companions with hearts full of love, adorable personalities and a lifelong friendship that comes as part of the package, Beau and Chica are ready to bring twice the warmth, twice the cuddles and twice the smiles into their new home.

Blu Daxi ️

Gloucestershire

BreedDachshund

Blu is a stunning Isabella dachshund (standard) who has come to us through no fault of his own Blu is a playful, young little lad with typical daxi traits. He can be nervous when he first meets you, but forms strong bonds and adores his people – he would do well with a family who has had the breed before and is knowledgable about the health side of the breed as well as behaviour Blu lives with another dog at present and loves to play and roll around with her, he enjoys his walks, and even on short walks can pull a decent walk, but he will not a huge hiker and care should be taken to manage that long bank with jumping etc Blu travels well and is affectionate, he needs a family with lots of time for him as can get worried when left alone, another typical sausage trait! This is a really stunning boy who deserves all the happiness and will make someone so so very happy! Could you be the proud new parents of Blu? Blue

BreedCrossbreed

Blue is an active Lurcher who has come to us from the stray kennels – we suspect he has been a pet before as he finds kennels stressful although he does have strong hunting instincts typical of his breed too! Blue is an active boy rather than a lazy Lurcher. He loves to chase a ball and is obsessed! (Great fly ball prospect?!) he can be strong on the lead so needs a capable walking human, however he is food motivated and very trainable Blue is friendly with all humans however we think he is a little too headstrong to go with children and would do better in an adult home experienced with large dogs; he is young and does need someone with time and energy for him, he will reward you with love ! Aura’s Rescue began after its founders visited Romania and witnessed the suffering of dogs in public shelters, where abuse, neglect, and abandonment were common. Inspired by a local rescuer named Aura, who cared for overlooked and long-stay dogs from her small home shelter, the team committed to helping those considered least likely to be adopted. The rescue focuses particularly on older, traumatised, and fearful dogs who have spent years waiting without hope. By bringing these dogs into foster homes in the UK, Aura’s Rescue provides patient rehabilitation, giving them the chance to adjust, heal, and finally experience safety and love.

More Information

Gloucestershire’s combination of countryside, market towns and commuter areas makes it a popular county for rescue dog adoption. Dogs rehomed here are often suited to homes that can offer outdoor access and a stable routine. Many rescues focus on thoughtful matching, particularly for dogs that benefit from quieter surroundings. Local adoption helps support charities working to give dogs a secure and lasting future.
