Gloucestershire’s combination of countryside, market towns and commuter areas makes it a popular county for rescue dog adoption. Dogs rehomed here are often suited to homes that can offer outdoor access and a stable routine. Many rescues focus on thoughtful matching, particularly for dogs that benefit from quieter surroundings. Local adoption helps support charities working to give dogs a secure and lasting future.

Despite this loss, Barnaby remains a loving, happy boy who greets everyone he meets with his signature teethy grin and a wagging tail. Barnaby adores his walks and nothing makes him happier than heading out on a “Sniffari” to explore the world through his nose – his absolute favourite pastime! He is a strong lad and can pull on the lead, so his future adopters should be prepared to continue working on his lead manners and feel confident managing his strength. A real lovable goof, Barnaby would thrive in a family home and could live happily with older children who understand and respect his space. Barnaby finds being around other dogs challenging and can struggle with his reactions. He will require ongoing, patient training and support to help him feel more comfortable and manage his responses when encountering other dogs. To help set him up for success, Barnaby is currently undergoing muzzle training, which will need to be continued in the home. He will wear a muzzle on walks to support his safety and the safety of those around him. Medical Needs: Barnaby does have some ongoing medical needs that adopters will need to take into consideration. He requires lifelong medication and monitoring. He has a history of bladder crystals and is therefore on a strict diet to help manage this condition, along with bi-annual to annual blood tests. As a senior gent, Barnaby also experiences some age-related stiffness in his legs and receives pain relief to keep him comfortable. Additionally, he can suffer from itchy skin and allergies, for which he takes medication to help ease the discomfort. To support his future home, we will be offering a supported adoption for Barnaby, meaning we will contribute towards covering his ongoing medical needs. Barnaby may be a little older, but he has so much love left to give. He’s looking for a kind, understanding home where he can enjoy his walks, indulge in plenty of sniffing adventures, and spend his days surrounded by people who adore him just as much as he’ll adore them in return. If you’re searching for a loyal companion with a big personality and an even bigger heart, Barnaby could be your Perfect Match! Cocker Spaniel Black 9 Years (approx) Apply now Meet Bella, a beautiful cocker spaniel with a heart full of love and a story of resilience. Bella came into our care 12 weeks ago in a very poor condition and heavily pregnant. Since then, she has made an incredible transformation. She safely gave birth to three gorgeous puppies, lovingly raised them, and has since watched them head off to their new homes. Now, it’s Bella’s turn to find the forever family she truly deserves. Bella is a peoplefocused dog who thrives on human companionship. She is affectionate, cuddly, and will do best in a home where she can enjoy plenty of attention throughout the day. She could happily live with respectful teenage children who understand her needs. Despite being 9 years old, Bella is still full of energy and embodies all the traits of a typical spaniel. She absolutely loves the outdoors; especially countryside walks where she can follow her nose and explore new scents. An active home that enjoys getting out and about would be perfect for her. Bella would be happiest as the only dog in the home. While she can socialise with other dogs once building a relationship, she has shown some resource guarding behaviours around food and her bed (directed towards other dogs, not people). To ensure she can relax without the need for close management, a singlepet home is the best fit. Bella has given so much, now she’s ready to receive the love, stability, and care of a forever home. I know how to sit (and lots of other commands too!) Blue

Gloucestershire

BreedCrossbreed

Blue is an active Lurcher who has come to us from the stray kennels – we suspect he has been a pet before as he finds kennels stressful although he does have strong hunting instincts typical of his breed too! Blue is an active boy rather than a lazy Lurcher. He loves to chase a ball and is obsessed! (Great fly ball prospect?!) he can be strong on the lead so needs a capable walking human, however he is food motivated and very trainable Blue is friendly with all humans however we think he is a little too headstrong to go with children and would do better in an adult home experienced with large dogs; he is young and does need someone with time and energy for him, he will reward you with love ! Could you be the proud new parents of Blue? Adoption application form: https://aurasdogs.co.uk/adoption-form/ e rehome to maximum 90 minutes drive from our centre in Gloucestershire
