“Well what can I say about these 3 monkeys! Bruce, Barney and Bonnie were part of a massive seizure of dogs from a site where the lady was hoarding. In fairness, the dogs that came to us were all in good condition and friendly. The pups and mum were microchipped and pups vaccinations have been started.Mum, Lola, who is also looking for a home of her own and is currently in Nottingham, is definitely a GSD but who dad was…. They are Valentine babies having been born 14th February.All have different characteristics but have seen no aggression towards people or other dogs. Bruce is not keen on getting into the car and is maybe a bit more of a thinker as to potential dangers. Barney is a goofball and is fine with everything he has met. Bonnie is good when away from her siblings. All three are being shown the world and getting some of the training they have missed out on.”This was Barney’s original write up in 2023 and having found a wonderful home who have worked very hard with him, they are looking to rehome him as they feel living in a busy London suburb is just too stressful for Barney which is making him reactive. Barney would love a quieter and more rural home and would benefit from an older dog to guide him and give him back his confidence and calmness.Barney was born February 2023 and is microchipped, vaccinated and neutered. Older children only as he can get jealous of younger children getting too much attention. Barney does not like large male dogs or poodles, and this is when he can become reactive and has redirected onto a person out of frustration before. He has also started becoming reactive to cars.Being a Mali cross he does have high prey drive so no small furries. Greeted our volunteer with interest and no aggression. Both ball and food orientated but no possession issues. Used to being left 4 hours and does not bark or chew. Recall fine unless distracted, but has basic commands.“Overall when I met him he seemed a lovely dog, friendly and obedient. It seems a shame he has become more reactive over time. The owners have sought help from trainers and clearly care for Barney, but now feel out of their depth.”Can you give Barney his rural sanctuary?

Could live with children of 12+Bernie is a lovely Staffie who came into our care through no fault of his own due to a change in his owner’s circumstances. He is a sweet, friendly boy who is now looking for a second chance at a loving forever home.Bernie has shown no reaction to the other dogs in our kennels. However, we feel he would be happiest as the only dog in the home, where he can enjoy all the love and attention for himself.

Meet lovely Bluey, who, although initially she can be quite shy, once she warms up to people, she is the most affectionate baby. Bluey has a wonderful history of being friendly and affectionate with everyone, including the children and cats in the home. She can find new situations, dogs and people quite scary, she is looking for an owner with previous experience with dogs who will be dedicated to teaching her that the world is not such a scary place! Bluey is quite worried of other dogs and has reacted towards them on occasion. She is not currently looking to live with other dogs but would benefit from some steady dog friends in the local area. Bluey previously lived with 8 cats and took it all in her stride. She could live with another dog savvy cat. She also lived with children and was friendly and polite. She has since proven herself to be quite a sensitive soul, so we believe it would be best for her to live with teenagers who will give her space if needed.Bluey is currently quite frightened of the outside world so will require a private garden space where she can desensitise to the nearby sounds and smells at her own pace. With the right love and support Bluey's confidence will continue to grow into the affectionate, loving companion she's destined to be. Are you right for Boo?Meet Boo, a 2-year-old Staffy X. She would love active adopters who are looking to welcome a high-energy dog into their lives. Ideally, it would be great if Boo's adopters have previous experience with dogs with a worried nature as well as higher energy levels. Due to her bouncy character, she is suitable to live with secondary-aged children. Boo would like to be the only dog in the home, due to her dog interactions. She would enjoy learning new tricks and having snuggles on the sofa with her adopters. She has met male handlers in the centre but is worried by them; she can go home with a male but would find it helpful if a female were around too, as she is more confident around them. In general, she can be worried by new people, so would benefit from a quieter home set up and location with gradual introductions to new people as she builds up her trust and confidence.Is Boo right for you?Beautiful Boo adores spending time with her handlers and being fussed over. She’s had a difficult start to life, so it is important to let Boo move things at her own pace as her confidence grows. Once she feels comfortable with you, she loves to get all up in your face and give lots of kisses. That being said, she is working on some impulse control! She doesn't quite understand yet that not everyone wants to be covered in dog slobber! Boo deserves a home where she can be unapologetically herself and have owners who are dedicated to opening the world up slowly to her and are passionate about building a bond with her. Boo will make the perfect, loyal companion and can’t wait to find her forever home!

Meet our wonderful little lady Brenda! Brenda is a lovely little lady that loves nothing more than having lots of attention and is always ready for the next adventure. New owners will need to be mindful that Brenda is still building her confidence around the outside world so will need to start off in quieter walking routes and could benefit from a garden, although this is not required.Brenda is looking for a loving and peaceful home that can help her feel safe and secure. She could potentially live with older teenagers who will respect her space. Brenda is used to being snuggled up with other cats in the home so would not mind some new cat companions! She also could live with a steady small dog who won't pester her for play.Brenda is a real sweetheart who has so much love to give, she may be older but dont let that fool you, she has a fun and youthful spirit! She loves her walks and having a good sniff. Being a tiny girl she can get over whelmed and a bit worried when out at times, but with gentle reassurance she is comforted and finds her confidence. Are you right for Buckles?Buckles is a young boy with loads to offer adopters - especially those with GSD or Husky experience and who would be proactive in keeping up his training. He loves meeting other dogs and is really friendly, maybe a little OTT so will need to be the only dog in the home and carry on learning his manners with his adopters. As we have very little history about his life before arriving at the centre, his adopters should be prepared to support him with any ongoing training. Due to his gentle nature and friendly approach to people, we feel Bug could live with children of primary school age and above. He may also be considered for homes with other animals pending appropriate assessments. Bug would suit owners who appreciate a large, affectionate dog who enjoys both quiet downtime and occasional playful moments, and who are happy to help him continue learning about life in a loving home.Is Bug right for you?Bug is a gentle giant with a wonderfully sweet nature and an easy-going outlook on life. Since arriving at the centre, he has quickly settled in, getting to know his handlers and is happiest spending his days relaxing on his bed. He is currently in a foster home temporarily staying with a volunteer until we find his forever family. He is now housetrained and his favourite place to hang out is the garden. He absolutely loves attention from people, leaning in for a head rub. Bug is a polite boy, he takes treats gently, and has impressed everyone with how relaxed he is during handling. When the mood takes him, his playful side shines through as he bounces around with his toys, enjoys a game of fetch, and shows off his fun-loving personality. Bug is a calm companion and playful best friend, and we think he has so much love to offer his future family.

O.U.R Dog Foundation is an APHA-approved importer that rescues dogs from Romanian kill shelters and the streets, placing them into carefully matched homes across the UK. Oldies Club is a specialist rescue for dogs aged 7 and over, founded in 2005, and run entirely by volunteers. We do not have a rehoming centre and do not use kennels but instead place our dogs in carefully vetted foster homes throughout England, Wales and Scotland. We usually have between 30 and 40 dogs in our care at any one time. Our dogs are fully assessed and receive whatever medical treatment they need before being put up for adoption. We take care to fully describe the type of home each individual dog needs so that potential adopters can be sure that the dog they are applying to adopt should suit the home they have to offer. As well as the dogs in our own rescue, we also help older dogs in other rescues by promoting them on our website, alongside our own dogs. This free service has helped thousands of older dogs find homes. We are full members of ADCH and are licensed to rehome dogs in Scotland (licence number SGRH-012 granted by The Scottish Government).
Our Safe Haven Kennels is a UK-based rescue facility opened in 2021 in Nantwich, Cheshire, created to provide a calm and supportive environment for dogs in need. The kennels were established to help dogs who struggled in busy shelter settings, particularly those rescued from overseas, as well as to offer a secure backup space for UK dogs returning to the rescue.
