Annie is a young, active girl who is just learning how fun the world is. Even after not having the best start to life she is full of energy and loves to explore and adores human company, she will be looking for a family where someone can be around most of the time to start with until she has settled in as she does struggle alone at the moment. Ideally the home would have its own secure garden in case she needs a little time to get used to going out for walks as she hasn’t been used to the outside world. We think she would suit a family with older children as she can get worried by loud noises and quick movements. Annie could share her home with another similar sized dog; she loves to play and has not shown any problems around beds toys or treats but may need to learn that she cannot play constantly. Annie has stolen the hearts of all the staff and volunteers she has met and once shes settled into the home we think she will be so much fun. She has had very little training beforehand so is learning all the basics and this will need continuing in the home as well as refreshing on toilet training so needs a family willing to do this. We feel Annie could also share her home with a cat, as long as scent swaps and an introduction goes ok. If you are after a playful, lively girl and the time to put in to train and socialise her – then look no further!​

Are you right for Atlas?Meet Atlas, a big handsome lad who is still just a youngster at 1 year old. He's arrived with us after being found a stray meaning that we don't know too much about his past. Since coming into our care he's been a little overwhelmed and can find new people a little scary. He's slowly finding his paws and is showing us what a silly and goofy boy he is! Atlas is looking for a home with children 14+ who can understand his worries and sensitive nature who can learn to read his body language and give him any time and space he might need. It's likely he has never been in a home before, so may need some support with all aspects of home life including things such as housetraining. We also recommend any time being left is gradually built up as he settles in. Atlas absolutely loves his toys and is never happier than when he's zooming around playing fetch! Atlas isn't comfortable around other dogs, and is learning to wear a muzzle while out and about on walks, and will need access to quiet walking areas and secure fields where he can relax and enjoy nature. He must have access to his own secure garden with no dogs living either side and secure fencing.Is Atlas right for you?Atlas is a wonderful boy who just needs a bit of time and patience to blossom. He's super clever and is happy to show off a "sit" and "paw" for a treat or two. Being a big lad, he can be strong on the lead so will adopters who can physically handle him and feel confident continuing his training around loose lead walking.

Are you right for Ava?Meet Ava - our beautiful 11 year old Spaniel crossAva is a little princess who adores her home comforts. She enjoys the simple things in life - a cosy spot to relax, her soft toys, and a good game of ball chasing. Once she feels safe and settled, Ava's affectionate side truly shines and she loves being the centre of attention, soaking up all the fuss from her favourite people.Ava does have a sensitive, nervous side, so she's looking for a patient and understanding home where she can take things at her own pace. She'll need adopters who are happy to give her the time and space she needs to build trust and find her confidence.She would be happiest in a quieter household and could live with older children - 16+ who understand when she needs her own space. Ava can be worried around other dogs, so she's looking to be the only pet in the home and would prefer quieter walking areas where she can relax and enjoy her outings without too much going on and would need her own secure, private garden where she can have potter and unwind.In her previous home Ava was comfortable being left for around 2 hours and was housetrained but may need a little refresher in these areas.Is Ava right for you?With patience, kindness and understanding Ava will blossom into a wonderfully loving companion who will reward you with affection and plenty of special moments.

Barbara of course is looking for a forever home but would also benefit from some time out of kennels in a foster home too. Barbara is a gorgeous girl looking for a quiet family that will understand she needs time and patience to get to know you and show off her cheeky side. We don’t have any history on where she came from but with how scared she was on arrival and how long it has taken to build bonds with her we feel she has either had very little human interaction or interaction that hasn’t been very nice. She is shy around handling if she doesn’t know you, but when she starts to trust she does enjoy a fuss. We are continuing to train her, using desensitization to touch and to the harness. She does walk nicely even just on her collar though. Barbara does have some arthritis in her spine and legs, but she is on medication for this which has helped a lot, so will need to be on this long term. We are looking for an adult only home, ideally with people that may have some experience with a nervous dog who have the time to work with Barbara and will be able to come to the rescue multiple times before she comes home to make sure she is comfortable. A secure, quiet garden is also a must as she may need some time to settle into the home before going out for walks. An ideal home would have a separate/safe area for Barbara if unknown visitors came to the house so she can have her own space if she becomes overwhelmed. Barbara has really started to shine with us and she has a happy, playful personality when she shows it. She loves toys and loves to zoom around off-lead, throwing toys in the air as she goes. If you have the space in your heart for a dog that needs some extra work, then we truly feel Barbara is right for you and will be an amazing companion!

Beau is a stunning four year old crossbreed (Labrador, Weimaraner, staffy possibly) who needs a new home through no fault of her own. She is a stunning large breed girl (38kg) and adores people. She’s been around children 3+ with no issues so we would be happy to rehome her with sensible dog savvy children 3+. She has never lived with another dog and she will bark when she sees other dogs although her owners say she just wants to play so a home as an only dog or with a friendly neutered male would be suited. She isn’t suited to living with cats as she has never been around them. She is friendly with new people out and about and in her home although she can be excited and jump up for fuss. She can pull on her lead but with further training I think this would improve significantly and she is not unmanageable at all. She would suit an active home where she would get plenty of exercise. She loves her food (that would be the Lab!) and takes treats well. We are told she has good recall and loves to play ball. She travels ok and is fine to be left for reasonable periods. She is speyed and vaccinated and chipped. Forever homes can be anywhere within the UK but you will need to travel to meet them where we are based in Alcester, Warwickshire. Our adoption fee is £250.

Bess is a seven year old medium sized crossbreed (looks similar to a collie) looking for an active home. Sadly her owner passed away and she’s not getting on with one of the other dogs she’s now living with. She is great with children 2 upwards and we would happily rehome her with children of that age. She is a no to cats/small furries and initially at least would be better suited as an only dog. Meets can be in Alcester or South Yorkshire

Billy is a handsome boy who is looking for a patient family able to help his confidence grow. We don’t have much history on Billy, but it seems he has not been exposed to much in the past and can become a bit over the top at times. We are working on this with him, and he is making improvements every day. Billy loves being around other dogs but is currently to be the only dog in the home due to being neutered recently, but he will share his walks with canine friends. Once you build a relationship Billy will happily enjoy some fuss and loves an ear massage! We are looking for an adult only home, so Billy has a quiet place to take himself should he feel overwhelmed. Billy would like a big cosy bed to curl up into, and a nice garden he can explore. He has so much love to give to a family and will be an amazing addition to the home. We would like a family interested to meet him a few times or have a few home visits to build his confidence so will be looking for a home close to our Rescue.

Are you right for Billy?Billy is a sweet and affectionate Staffy cross looking for an adult-only home or one with children aged 8+ where he can enjoy a calm and understanding environment. In the home, Billy is a real softie. He loves a cuddle, especially if he can burrow under a blanket or duvet, and he’s more than happy to spend the evening watching the T.V with his people. He’s very people friendly and enjoys being around his humans. Billy is housetrained and has previously been comfortable being left for a few hours, although this may need building up again as he settles into a new home and routine.When out on walks, Billy can find seeing other dogs overwhelming and struggles to manage his emotions around them. Because of this, he would benefit from quieter walking areas while he continues learning to stay calm around other dogs. Billy can get very excitable and boisterous, and when he’s overexcited he may show some mouthy behavior's, so he would suit owners who are happy to continue guiding him and helping him channel his enthusiasm in positive ways.Is Billy right for you?Billy is a loving, cuddly, and fun companion who will make a wonderful addition to the right home.

This handsome boy is incredibly smart and loves nothing more than earning tasty treats while showing off what he has learnt.Bosco does have a sensitive, anxious side, so is looking for a calm, adult only home. He would prefer to be the only dog in the home but he can happily enjoy the company of calm doggy friends while out on walks.He can take a little time to warm up to new people, but once he feels comfortable Bosco's cheeky fun-loving nature really shines through. Bosco isn't comfortable with lots of handling so is learning to wear a muzzle for vet visits and grooming. That said, he’s perfectly happy having doggy pals out and about on his adventures.Bryn absolutely adores his walks and thrives on getting out and exploring the world. Under this scheme, the dog stays with their current owner until the point of adoption, when ownership transfers briefly to Dogs Trust and then to the new adopters. The benefits of Homestay for a dog are that it minimises disruption and prevents the dog having to come into kennels, however there is the potential the owner may pull out of the scheme prior to adoption. We understand the upset this may cause to potential adopters, and we work closely with owners to minimise the likelihood of this. However, it remains a possibility, and should this occur, Dogs Trust will prioritise finding adopters an alternative suitable dog.

Are you right for Captain Porkchop?Captain Porkchop is a beautiful lurcher boy with a gentle soul and a whole lot of love to give. While he can be full of life and enjoys playtime, especially with his beloved soft toys, he also has a sensitive side and can find new environments a little overwhelming. He’ll need a calm, adult-only home with patient adopters who can give him the time and reassurance he needs to settle in and feel safe. Captain Porkchop does have his bouncy, boisterous moments, particularly when he’s feeling comfortable and happy, but he thrives best in a quieter setting where he can build confidence at his own pace. He’s still learning about being left alone, so his leaving hours will need to be built up gradually. Captain Porkchop will need to be the only pet in his forever home, with access to peaceful walkies where he can work on building his social skills. If you have a gentle home, a soft toy or two, and a kind heart, Captain Porkchop could be the companion you’ve been waiting for.Is Captain Porkchop right for you?Captain Porkchop is a real sweetheart, who has so much love to give his forever family.
