Are you right for Ash?Meet Ash, a delightfully energetic 2-year-old Patterdale x Staffie crossbreed waiting for his forever home! Ash is a super curious boy who loves to lead with his nose, and he would appreciate an active home prepared to take him on plenty of adventures and commit to his ongoing training and mental stimulation. He's full of beans and has been known to get a little bouncy, so for that reason any children in the home will need to be of secondary school age or higher. He'll require a secure private garden with a fence at least 6ft high for him to play and let off some steam, and any time left alone will need to be built up gradually to help him adjust to periods of separation. Whilst his love of attention will need him to be the only pet in the home, he loves to meet new people, so he'll be very happy with regular visitors in the home.Is Ash right for you?Ash is a social butterfly who becomes best friends with everyone he meets! He's been super eager to meet his handlers every day, and has been content going on long walks where he can explore and use his nose. He loves to play and is particularly fond of rope games. Ash loves his treats and has responded very well to enrichment toys such as kongs, snuffle mats and treat balls, which have kept him happy and entertained, and for the most part has been content with car travel. Beautiful Bella sadly had to be returned to us a few months ago due to her person no longer being able to care for her due to dementia.Bella is the perfect age at 10 loving long walks but also able to chill at home.On return to us she was very obese but is steadily losing weight and has a new lease of life.She is generally friendly with other dogs but prefers not to share her home with them.She can be left for a few hours, travels well in a car and can live with cats with slow introductions.She walks well on a lead unless she sees something to chase then can pull.Bella is looking for a home with a secure garden where someone is home at least part of the day and who will be committed to continuing her weight loss journey.She has been fine with visiting children but has never lived with them so any resident children need to be dog respectful 12+Currently in Chippenham.

Are you right for Biggie?Biggie is a little dog with a big personality! He is at his happiest when surrounded by people he knows and comfy laps to snuggle up on. Biggie can struggle when left alone so is looking for a home where he doesn't need to be left, at least initially, so he can settle in, find his feet and have all the fuss he wants! He can live with secondary school aged children. Typical of his breed he can be vocal, including when he meets other dogs, but he has made doggy friends and there is potential for him to live with another dog pending successful introductions. He cannot live with cats or small furries.Is Biggie right for you?Biggie is a playful boy who loves to play tug with his rope toys, soft toys and tennis balls don't always last very long! Biggie does know some basic commands but these can be a little hit and miss. He's more likely to work for a tasty treat or two! He is currently on a diet though, so his new owners will need to be careful not to over indulge him too much! Biggie travels well in the car and is always up for heading out on an adventure with his favourite people. If you're looking for a cheeky and affectionate companion, Biggie may be the one for you.

A New Leash For Life

Meet Bobby, a handsome small–medium 9‑month-old pup with a bright, eager mind and a huge heart. He’s been in foster for just over two weeks and has impressed everyone with how quickly he learns and adapts—funny, friendly, and endlessly lovable. Here is his fosters description of him. We have fostered Bobby for just over 2 weeks and having previously fostered Romanian rescues we are amazed at how quickly he learns and adapts. He is so funny and friendly and just so lovable. We will miss him but feel he will benefit from a family home and would live happily with other dogs. He has so many positives and no negatives just some things are a work in progress. Noises, indoors, outdoors do not seem to bother him at all. He will join in when neighbouring dogs bark in their gardens but soon stops when corrected He is fully house trained and he has never once had any toilet accidents indoors. He sleeps quietly all night in the hallway, stair gate fitted at bottom of stairs. We used a crate with the door left open for a couple of nights but now packed away as not needed as he settles quickly with no fuss and we don't hear a peep from him all night. He loves his food and treats. He has no food, treat or toy aggression and happily shares. He loves his walks and gets so excited when he sees his lead and harness and is happy to have them put on. The walks can take ages as he loves exploring the lovely smells in the grass and hedges and is fascinated by flying insects. He is so inquisitive. He is fine with passing bikes, runners and people but wants to say hello to every passing dog. If a dog walker goes straight past Bobby will lunge and bark as he gets frustrated as he can't say hello. We are working on this by taking him to a local park and watching passing dogs in the distance. He loves walking alongside other dogs but can be too playful so needs to be corrected. He has been in the car a few times and I sit on back seat next to him and he is secured by harness and belt clip. He likes to stand up and watch the passing traffic. He is not keen on going into the car but is happy to be lifted in and then enjoys a treat. He has not yet been left alone but we will work on this. He knows he is allowed on the doggy sofa in the conservatory but not on the sofas in the lounge. Great with other dogs, big and small off lead but excitable when out on a lead Can be homed with a resident dog or only dog home Walking on a harness and lead Children over 12 yrs This handsome little chap has a lot of love to give and would make a great addition to a family with dog / rescue dog experience. This little girl is an absolute darlingBuffy has been in foster for much longer than we would have liked, but it has taken us so long to get her spayed as she has had so many phantom pregnancies and was found to be lactating each time she went for pre op check and so had to come back home again.Anyhow….she is now done and so ready to look for her forever home.Buffy is a super friendly little Staffie girl, easy to walk on lead, she’s a more mature lady at around 10 years old and still lively but not over the top.Currently in Melksham.

She absolutely stole my heart.Elsa’s first owner sadly died a year ago and her current owners circumstances have changed.She needs a home with a secure garden where someone is around a good part of the day and where she will have the daily walks she so loves.She has never lived with cats so needs a cat-free home. She has been good with children she has met on walks but would be best in an adult-only home or where resident children are 12+ and dog-respectful.An absolute dream girl.In Trowbridge, Wiltshire.

Are you right for Hartley?If you are after a big-hearted adventure buddy who brings joy (and a fair bit of laughter) everywhere he goes, Hartley might be just your lad. At three and a half years old, this Foxhound is a gorgeous blend of goofy charm, boundless curiosity and classic hound enthusiasm. He is a Big Friendly Giant who does not quite realise how large he is, so is looking for a family with secondary school aged children, who are confident around a dog who bounces with excitement. He is currently enjoying learning some great life skills, such as loose lead walking! Whilst we have been working with Hartley in indoor spaces here at the centre, we suspect Hartley has previously lived outdoors so would be looking for a home that can help continue Hartley’s gradual transition into indoor living. He lives in a group living setting at the centre, with access to outdoor areas and he does spend most of his time outdoors. If you have a suitable outdoor establishment with another dog, this would be a lovely stepping stone into a home. Hartley would have on-going support from our welfare team to ensure he is getting the contact with people he very much loves whilst living in a slightly different environment. Hartley is very much the perfect companion dog. If you are someone who enjoys a dog who makes friends everywhere he goes, Hartley will make your heart melt daily. He is wonderfully friendly with other dogs, leans in for fuss like the oversized teddy bear he is and treats every new person like a long-lost pal. He is endlessly curious, loves exploring new environments and is in his absolute element when he is using that incredible hound nose during tracking or scent games. Car journeys are a breeze with Hartley—he jumps straight into the boot without a second thought. You will just need a good-sized boot space to fit his impressive frame and keep him safely contained, especially as he can be a bit silly and animated with his happy tail while travelling.

Are you right for Hector?Meet Hector! This friendly Bedlington Terrier x Whippet is looking for a home either alone or with his brother, Paris. Hector is a social dog who enjoys seeing other dogs, although he can sometimes be a little over-enthusiastic and forget his manners when he's excited. He loves exploring new environments at his own pace and is always keen to investigate what's going on around him. He's also been fantastic with handling, grooming and vet visits, taking everything in his stride and charming everyone he meets along the way.Is Hector right for you?Hector can live with primary school aged children or above and, as he isn't used to being left alone, any time apart from their new family will need to be built up gradually. Due to Hector's strong prey drive, he cannot live with cats, small furries, poultry or livestock. He will need to remain on lead and wear a muzzle around other animals in public. Hector loves tasty treats, takes them gently and enjoys spending time with his favourite people. While he isn't always interested in toys on his own, his playful side shines through when he's with Paris, especially if there are squeaky toys involved!
