Millie is a beautiful 6-year-old Deerhound cross Poodle, about the size of a Standard Poodle, with the softest, silkiest coat and the most delightfully goofy hair you’ve ever seen. She turns heads wherever she goes but it’s her gentle soul that truly makes her special.Millie’s world was turned upside down when she lost her canine companion, and she’s been struggling to find her footing ever since. She’s a sensitive, affectionate girl who forms deep bonds, and right now she’s feeling that loss more than ever. In kennels, without a familiar friend by her side, she’s finding it hard to relax and be her true self.Millie would thrive in a peaceful home with another well matched dog who can show her the ropes and help her feel safe. In return, she’ll offer quiet companionship, gentle affection, and those endearing, slightly goofy moments that will make you smile every day.She doesn’t need much, just a soft place to land, a steady friend, and someone willing to see the lovely dog she is beneath her worries and help build her confidence in the big wide world.2020 - 2026 Animal Concern Cumbria. FOR ADOPTION – ROCKY – TADLEY, HAMPSHIRE2 year old Deerhound x Saluki. Rocky is a lovely boy. He has a goofy personality and doesn’t realise his size. He’s 27 kg.He has previously lived with another dog and could live with other dogs or on his own.Rocky can walk nicely on a lead with a harness. Though if he catches whiff of an interesting smell or sees a squirrel he will pull strongly to get to it. He is a typical sight hound and is muzzled on walks because of his prey drive. His recall is a work in progress using high value treats. He can be reactive outside of the home sometimes when encountering other dogs. For this reason he isn’t likely to suit a first time dog owner. He travels well in the car. He prefers to sleep on the sofa and will sleep nicely all night. He ca be left for part of the day.He has lived with cats previously, but has wanted to chase resident cats and becomes hyperfocused. We would suggest he’d be better with a cat free home.Rocky will become possessive over high value treats or chews with other dogs so would need to be given these separately.Rocky does sometimes forget his manners and would benefit from ongoing training. He will counter surf if he can smell something nice. He can also open doors .He has had a bad experience at a groomers when younger and as such was sedated by the vet to be clipped due to bad matting. Unless brushed will become tangled again. He tolerates a doggy tangle teaser. An experienced groomer will be able to slowly build his confidence back.He is happy to see everyone, including children and has previously lived with children. He loves a fuss and will repay you with face licks and will make someone a loyal, fun, loving boy.Adoption fee £375 which includes;VaccinesVet checkMicrochipNeuteringFlea & worm treatment5 weeks insurance with AgriaPost adoption consult with an experienced behaviouristApply at https://phoenixrehoming.co.uk/forms/For more information or a guide to adoption email us at team@phoenixrehoming.co.ukTo apply to adopt, please follow the button below and complete an application form.
