Are you right for Betty?Say hello to Betty, our gorgeous 3 year old Doberman x Shepherd. Betty is a loving girl who is full of energy and loves to run around and play with her tennis ball. Betty is very friendly and can live with another dog, pending a successful meet here at our centre. She is currently a little under socialised and worries when being left alone, so another dog in the home could really benefit her here. As she is a bigger girl, Betty would prefer to live with confident children over 11 years old, as she can sometimes pull on the lead. Luckily, she is very toy and food motivated, which will help with any training needs!

Hi, I'm Bomma, a gorgeous 3 year old chap.I’m a lovely big boy who thought I’d found my forever home. Sadly, through no fault of my own, life changed for my humans and I had to come back. I’m a very soppy boy, I love being with people and getting lots of fuss. I can be strong on the lead, but if you’ve had a big dog before, you’ll know the drill. I’ve got power and enthusiasm, especially when the world smells exciting. I absolutely love my toys and I’m a professional at zoomies, the joyful, full-speed kind that make everyone laugh.Other dogs? Well... I like to announce myself. I might bark, but it’s all noise and no nastiness. If you call me away, I’m happy to move on and I won’t even look back. I’m really clever and I love high reward treats so I’ll really enjoy doing reward based training with you.I’d really shine with experienced people who understand active, strong dogs and enjoy having one around. I’d prefer to be your one and only pet, soaking up all the love. I’d also love it if someone could be around for me during the day, I’m a social lad and enjoy company. I could potentially live with older, dog-savvy children who know how to respect my space, as I have before. What I’m really looking for is someone who sees past the size and the noise and notices the good boy underneath, loyal, playful, and ready to settle when I feel secure again. If you think you might be my person, I’m waiting... tail wagging, toy in mouth, hopeful as ever. Please apply today.

Dennis, a 1 year old male Dobermann available for adoption from Good Life Dog Rescue in West Yorkshire

Dennis

BreedDobermann

MEET DENNIS - THIS BOY IS A GORGEOUS HANDSOME LARGE CROSS BREED. HE IS OUR SPECIAL APPEAL.Dennis is a typical young dog (possible Doberman cross) who has had a tough start in life. He was rescued by a kind lady from a difficult situation after being left in an empty house. She sadly could not keep him due to having three other male dogs at home. Dennis is a typical lively energetic youngster that loves people and life itself. He needs lots of exercise, stimulation and is in heaven on his walks enjoying the outdoors. Baby Den has met lots of dogs on his walks and we are now embarking on training and guidance with gentle introductions. He needs some manners with the right introductions as all young dogs do as Dennis is over excitable on first meet. We ensure he continues to grow into a well rounded larger lad that is socialiable. His life experience started when he arrived in our care however he has continually been overlooked. Dennis never receives any glances, applications or offer of a glimmer of hop of a home. We have watched Dennis grow physically and mentally at kennels and he is now thirteen months old. Dennis now goes out walking for miles at the weekends with otehr dogs. He had a fantastic bromance with Frankie and now loves his adventures with Storm. There are now so many failed puppies in charities, including ours and we are overwhelmed. Society in general is failing these poor souls and even before the age of one so many are being abandoned, mistreated and neglected. Many find themselves at local stray kennels and struggle to find homes. Dennis has so much love to give and adores attention, playtimes and company. He has turned many corners in the four months he has been with you and we now urgently need to find him a very special large breed home. Training and guidance is a must have as this boy has energy. He also has so much love to give. We invite people to come and meet this handsome young man. He needs a dedicated human that can continue with his boundaries and socialising. CAN YOU HELP? CAN YOU OFFER SUPPORT?WHAT SORT OF HOME DOES DENNIS NEED?Dennis needs a loving home where he will be offered guidance and continued socialising as he grows. He is just a young dog with mountains of energy. He loves people and could possibly accept another female dog that is neutered and sociable. Regular visits would be welcome. Dennis is fit and active and will need someone that has get up and go and is able to walk him. Dennis needs stimulation of his brain as well as exercising his legs. This boy is adorable and will be very time consuming so this young man needs a home that will not be left as a lonely dog all day. He will need enrichment as he grows mentally. Someone that is active and works from home would be perfect and definitely someone that is outdoorsy. Dennis could live in a family with older adult children however we do not feel his size would be suitable for small kiddies. Dennis is affectionate with a wonderful nature and we love him dearly. We ensure he finds his happy ever after with someone that is dedicated to his training and has commitment for him all his life. If you feel you are the right home for Dennis then we welcome calls and applications. Please click on the ADOPT ME button at the bottom of the page to send us information about yourself. Calls are always welcome to discuss our dogs for adoption. Dennis is now struggling in kennels and we appeal for foster or adoption support.Due to the sheer volume of stray dogs now needing help our charity is struggling. Our main priority is for the daily exercise and welfare of the dogs in our care. We thank people for their patience and kind words of support. Our charity exists with few people so time is always very precious and we are work extremely late hours to maintain our small rescue. We are now seeing an increase in stray dogs, cruelty and shocking abandonment. We remain here for the dogs with no voice and an uncertain future. We are working hard to accommodate many neglected dogs. Support and kindness towards our voluntary organisation is greatly appreciated.PLEASE COMPLETE AN APPLICATION FORM WITH ESSENTIAL DETAILS ABOUT YOURSELF BY CLICKING ON THE ADOPT ME BUTTON. PLEASE READ THE DETAILS ABOVE ABOUT THE HOME THESE DOGS NEED BEFORE APPLYING. HOME CHECKS AND VET REFERENCES IF POSSIBLE ARE NEEDED PRIOR ANY ADOPTION OF OUR RESCUE DOGS. THEIR FUTURE WELFARE IS OUR PRIORITY AND A PERFECT HUMAN HOUND MATCH IS NEEDED FOR THE FUTURE HAPPINESS OF BOTH PEOPLE AND OUR DOGS. THANK YOU.

Handsome lad Gus has had quite an unstable background so we would love to find him his forever home where he will be loved and cherished just how he deserves! He needs stability, security and a safe home environment where he can flourish.Gus was brought into this country with cropped ears, the one didn’t take so he’s been left with one floppy ear and one that’s upright! On arrival Gus was thin and in poor condition, he’s now looking & feeling fabulous and weighs a healthy 38kg.Gus is a big strong boy, he needs a bit of time and patience to help him walk nicely to heel on lead, however he will walk well with a little help from a halti head collar. We are looking for an owner who is experienced with Dobermanns, Gus is very unique and has the quirkiest character, quite the clown!!Gus has always met new people well and is a sociable soul.We are searching for a pet free and child free home.Gus is incredibly clumsy and has no idea what size he is, he can be very enthusiastic with his affection and love so has to be reminded of his manners.Gus would make the most wonderful companion if he could be the centre of attention and have a one to one environment.

Dogs Friends

Hank

Somerset
SexMale
Age11 months
BreedCane Corso x Dobermann

Background –Hank has joined us from the pound after being handed into the vet as a stray.Character –Hank is a very affectionate, bouncy boy, who loves cuddles! He is a typical big puppy. He’s food motivated, keen to learn, and takes everything in his stride, even though his start to life has been so unsettled. Due to his unsettled start, Hank does pull on lead and needs training and socialisation, although he has mastered the perfect ‘Paw’. He’s been loving his recent trips in the car, watching the world go by.Type of home –Hank needs a stable, experienced home. Due to his bouncy nature, we’re looking for a home without young children on this occasion. We do not know what Hank will be like in the home, and his new owners need to be prepared to show him the ropes. Hank is a big boy, already weighing 53 kgs, so his new owners must be confident handlers. It is expected that Hank will be at least 65 kgs when fully grown.Hank is a resident at our Kennel and potential adopters will need to meet him here. Our catchment area for rehoming is Somerset and the local surrounding areas (such as Bristol, Bath, Weston Super Mare and Wiltshire).

WE NEED YOUR HELP PLEASEWe have put on several FB posts for Lily and had very little response but we know the right home is out there for her ….we just have to find it.Lily is a 5 year old Dobi x who missed out on a lot of the socialisation she should have had as a younger dog but this girl still has so much to offer. Her current carer has put in a huge amount of time and effort into working with her and has achieved so much and will testify to the fact that Lily loves to cuddle up and share sofa space with her person.Whilst Lily is still not very confident outside of the home she loves ball play and in good weather loves water/hosepipe play and she has recently had a trip to a secure area which she loved.Lily has always been good at being left alone for a few hours.Lily needs an adult-only home as an only pet and if someone wants the company of a dog but doesn’t want to do lots of lead walking but has large garden which they spend a lot of time in then Lily is your girl. She’s currently in Swindon and we would would like her homed in the West Country but will keep open minded if a suitable offer comes in from elsewhere. Please please share this, we need to get her maximum coverage.
