He loves exploring new places and is very alert to his surroundings. When meeting other dogs, Ajax can feel conflicted and may appear excitable, shy, or worried, so he will need continued socialisation and careful introductions. He cannot live with cats, other dogs, small furries, or children, as he currently has limited impulse control, but he can enjoy having calm walking buddies. With structure, patience, and consistent training, Ajax has the potential to grow into a wonderful companion for the right person who is ready to invest time, understanding, and love into his journey. Due to his excitable nature, Ajax will need multiple meets with potential adopters.

Are you right for Daphne?Daphne is our utterly gorgeous 2-year-old Dobermann. She is full of life and adores playing and being on the go! Daphne is a smart girl who is looking for a calm and experienced home who can provide her with support and ongoing training. Going for walks and exploring is one of Daphne's favourite things to do where she takes in the fresh air and scenery around her. She is such a smart girl and is quick to learn new skills and tricks. Daphne is looking for an adult only home and is looking to be the only pet in the home. Daphne would love for a family to come and meet her at the centre a couple of times before she is ready to pack up her big yellow bag! AWE licence number 13090 by West Lothian Council.

MEET DENNIS - THIS BOY IS A GORGEOUS HANDSOME LARGE CROSS BREED. HE IS OUR SPECIAL APPEAL.Dennis is a typical young dog (possible Doberman cross) who has had a tough start in life. He was rescued by a kind lady from a difficult situation after being left in an empty house. She sadly could not keep him due to having three other male dogs at home. Dennis is a typical lively energetic youngster that loves people and life itself. He needs lots of exercise, stimulation and is in heaven on his walks enjoying the outdoors. Baby Den has met lots of dogs on his walks and we are now embarking on training and guidance with gentle introductions. He needs some manners with the right introductions as all young dogs do as Dennis is over excitable on first meet. We ensure he continues to grow into a well rounded larger lad that is socialiable. His life experience started when he arrived in our care however he has continually been overlooked. Dennis never receives any glances, applications or offer of a glimmer of hop of a home. We have watched Dennis grow physically and mentally at kennels and he is now thirteen months old. Dennis now goes out walking for miles at the weekends with otehr dogs. He had a fantastic bromance with Frankie and now loves his adventures with Storm. There are now so many failed puppies in charities, including ours and we are overwhelmed. Society in general is failing these poor souls and even before the age of one so many are being abandoned, mistreated and neglected. Many find themselves at local stray kennels and struggle to find homes. Dennis has so much love to give and adores attention, playtimes and company. He has turned many corners in the four months he has been with you and we now urgently need to find him a very special large breed home. Training and guidance is a must have as this boy has energy. He also has so much love to give. We invite people to come and meet this handsome young man. He needs a dedicated human that can continue with his boundaries and socialising. CAN YOU HELP? He is just a young dog with mountains of energy. He loves people and could possibly accept another female dog that is neutered and sociable. Regular visits would be welcome. Dennis is fit and active and will need someone that has get up and go and is able to walk him. Dennis needs stimulation of his brain as well as exercising his legs. This boy is adorable and will be very time consuming so this young man needs a home that will not be left as a lonely dog all day. He will need enrichment as he grows mentally. Someone that is active and works from home would be perfect and definitely someone that is outdoorsy. Dennis could live in a family with older adult children however we do not feel his size would be suitable for small kiddies. Dennis is affectionate with a wonderful nature and we love him dearly. We ensure he finds his happy ever after with someone that is dedicated to his training and has commitment for him all his life. Our charity exists with few people so time is always very precious and we are work extremely late hours to maintain our small rescue. We are now seeing an increase in stray dogs, cruelty and shocking abandonment. We remain here for the dogs with no voice and an uncertain future. We are working hard to accommodate many neglected dogs. Are you right for Dessie?Dessie is a confident and cheerful lad who absolutely loves meeting new people—he’s instantly friendly and thrives on human interaction. He takes treats gently, enjoys playing with toys, and is a real foodie at heart, especially when it comes to brain games with a tasty reward at the end. Dessie has a moderate energy level and would suit a home where he can enjoy both playtime and relaxation. He will need access to a secure garden or safe outdoor space where he can burn off energy and explore. Dessie can be left alone for short periods, but this should be built up gradually. He would do best with patient adopters who are willing to give him plenty of love, time, and understanding as he settles in.Is Dessie right for you?While Dessie has many wonderful qualities, he will need support with his behaviour around other dogs. He can be reactive when out on walks and may bark when he sees other dogs, so he is currently muzzle trained and will require ongoing guidance with his socialisation skills. Our Training and Behaviour team will be available to help you every step of the way. Dessie will need to be the only pet in the home, as he cannot live with other dogs, cats, or small animals. Any children in the household should ideally be aged 14 or over. With the right guidance and a committed owner, Dessie has so much love to give and will make a rewarding companion.

Are you right for Dobby?Meet handsome Dobby, a 3-year old Dobermann looking for his forever home! Dobby is a really funny, playful dog with bags of character. Dobby could live with another tolerant dog, that is able to cope with his playstyle! Dobby loves people and is a little bit TOO bouncy at times, jumping up despite his big size! More than anything, though, Dobby loves his food. He is incredibly food motivated, and is very receptive to training with the aid of a treat or two. He has had a bit of a rough start, and came in quite underweight, so he does gobble his food down quite quickly.He doesn't let his past hold him down, though, as he is such a confident, excitable boy with a happy-go-lucky attitude (with a dash of chaos). He's very typical Dobermann, with lots of energy to burn, and likes to use his paws to play! Dobby does like other dogs, and wants to say hi to any dog he sees but can bark out of frustration if he's not able to, which may need a little work ongoing. All in all, Dobby is a gorgeous boy who will bring so much fun and excitement to his new home!Is Dobby right for you?Dobby is for the Dobie lovers, and those that don't mind a little chaos in their lives. He is bouncy, lovable and goofy and we love him to bits. He settles well in his kennel, so we think given time, he could be left for 4-6 hours with a break in his new home. He does need work on toilet training, as he hasn't quite grasped this concept yet - but with the aid of food, he will be an angel in no time!Dobby can pull on lead at times, and due to his size, can be quite strong. However, he has been working really hard on his loose-lead and has been brilliant in the centre with his level of progress. We can't wait to see this gorgeous boy living it up with his new family.

Are you right for Frank?Frank is a stunning young lad full of joy and personality, and he’s excited to find his perfect family! He’s a fun, bouncy boy who brings endless enthusiasm to everyone he meets. He’s currently practising his best manners and learning to keep all four paws on the floor — he’s just so happy he sometimes forgets how big he is! Frank enjoys his walks work but he is under socialised with dogs and can be reactive. He would benefit from an experienced home who are willing to continue with Franks ongoing training. Frank could live with older children who are confident around larger, playful dogs following a successful meet at the centre. Frank would suit a home where he is the only dog.Is Frank right for you?Frank is a bright, energetic one‑year‑old Dobermann who thrives on human companionship. Like many Dobies — often affectionately called “Velcro dogs” — he loves being close to his people and will happily be your loyal shadow. As he settles into his new home, his leaving times can be gradually built up with support.He’d adore joining in with family adventures and is always ready to hop into the car for a trip. Frank is learning to walk nicely on the lead, and he’s making great progress with a headcollar. He’s a clever boy who enjoys training, puzzles, and anything that keeps his brilliant brain busy.

Gracie is a very sweet 2 year old Doberman x Great Dane. She came in last year with her siblings who were all taken from an unlicensed breeder who did not care for them as well as they should have. She was adopted to a loving home but unfortunately has had to return to us now due to her owners ill health.Gracie is very loving once she is comfortable with you and really enjoys one on one time with people. She was kenneled with her sister when first here so could possibly be housed with another dog, subject to successful introductions.She is still quite nervous, especially of strangers, so will need a home that can give her the time and space to open up and an owner that will engage in training exercises to build up her confidence in different situations.She will need an owner who is physically capable of managing large dogs and preferably have had similar large guarding breeds in the past, as previous experience with these types of breeds will give a better understanding of their needs so they can be met fully.

HW Animal Rescue

Handsome lad Gus has had quite an unstable background so we would love to find him his forever home where he will be loved and cherished just how he deserves! He needs stability, security and a safe home environment where he can flourish.Gus was brought into this country with cropped ears, the one didn’t take so he’s been left with one floppy ear and one that’s upright!On arrival Gus was thin and in poor condition, he’s now looking & feeling fabulous and weighs a healthy 38kg.Gus is a big strong boy, he needs a bit of time and patience to help him walk nicely to heel on lead, however he will walk well with a little help from a halti head collar.We are looking for an owner who is experienced with Dobermanns, Gus is very unique and has the quirkiest character, quite the clown!!Gus has always met new people well and is a sociable soul.We are searching for a pet free and child free home.Gus is incredibly clumsy and has no idea what size he is, he can be very enthusiastic with his affection and love so has to be reminded of his manners.Gus would make the most wonderful companion if he could be the centre of attention and have a one to one environment.

Are you right for Jax?Jax is a very sweet boy that is looking for a quieter home. He can live with sensible children aged 16+. Jax loves toys and his favourite game is tug of war. He needs to be the only pet in his new home as he can be too much for a lot of dogs but would love friends out and about.Is Jax right for you?Jax has shown some worries around new people but quickly warms up when you spend time with him. He already knows some basic commands but would enjoy further training in the home. Jax loves his walks and loves to explore. He would be a fantastic addition to the right family.

He’s a 6yr old Dobermann Cross who forms a very strong bond with his friends. Jupiter is what we call a ‘Velcro dog’, because he will stick by your side! He likes to be with his friends all the time so it will be a little while until he can be built up to any time on his own, but this just means more Jupiter cuddles!! He’s spent a lot of time on sleepovers with his favourite handlers and proven that he’s fully housetrained, really playful (tennis balls are his favourite!) and the best sofa snuggler you could wish for! So, if you are looking for an AWESOME dog who will be a little bit of a project initially but will then repay you with a lifetime of love and fun, add Jupiter to your favourites NOW!Is Jupiter right for you?Jupiter can be a bit anxious with new people and places so will need his adopters to slowly work with us to build a bond and prepare him for life in his forever home. He’s worried by other dogs so is best walked in quiet places where he won’t see many, but he happily wears his muzzle. He’s made good progress with his training and has even made a couple of doggy friends at the centre, so in time walking buddies should be possible if introduced properly. He needs a calm and predictable adult only home where he can build a good routine and continue smashing his training. He will need to have his own secure garden with high fence as he loves to play off-lead.

Doris Banham Dog Rescue

With a new baby in the house, Kie had been turfed out of the house and was living in the garden - we were his last chance to live. Rescued just 29 minutes before his PTS appointment, Kie entered our care and has never looked back.Kie is a tall elegant Doberman X German Shepherd. He is quite boisterous and is seeking an ‘only dog’ home, with an active family who can provide him with plenty of exercise. Whilst at the kennels, Kie has never shown any aggression towards the staff.
