This gentle giant is a mature boy who is looking for a special someone with experience of large breeds and the understanding needed to help him settle into home life. Please welcome George to our hotelGorgeous George is a handsome 6-year-old Dogue de Bordeaux who has recently arrived into our care following neglect from his previous owner. He has been through a lot, but George is now ready to look forward to a much brighter future filled with love, care, good food and all the comforts he deserves.George is a real sweetheart who just needs a little extra love, patience and understanding while he settles into his new life. He has already spent some time in foster and has proved himself to be the perfect house guest. He loves the comforts of home, enjoys a gentle potter, a good snooze and, of course, drinking straight from the hose! He really is happiest enjoying the simple things in life.George is very food-motivated and his meals are carefully managed. He is currently on a gastrointestinal diet to support his digestion and help maintain a healthy weight. He is fed little and often using a raised feeder, which works really well for him and allows him plenty of time to digest his meals comfortably.George absolutely adores his walks and loves getting out to explore. As you might expect from a big Dogue de Bordeaux, he can be strong on the lead, particularly when he picks up an interesting scent. Having missed out on some important social learning in his previous life, George may benefit from some positive dog training to help build his confidence and continue developing his lead manners and appropriate behaviours.George can be a sensitive soul and will need owners who understand that he may take time to settle and build trust. In return, he has so much love to give. He is a big, slobbery boy with an enormous heart, a love of food and a gentle, affectionate nature.George would be best suited to a calm and relaxed home where he can finally feel safe and enjoy the quieter life he deserves. He is up for rehoming due to no fault of his own, his owner simply didn’t have the time to give to him. Despite his size, he is the softest, gentlest, kindest boy on the planet! He loves nothing more than to be close to you for constant cuddles. He would suit someone with experience in large dog breeds and preferably someone who works from home and can be with him a lot of the day. He is good with other dogs and previously lived with another dog . He is not good around cats or other small furries . He is lovely around children of all ages but because of his size he might be better suited to a family with children over 10 yrs. Hulk is neutered, deflead and wormed. If you want a truly loyal uncomplicated friend for life then Hulk is your man!. Available for adoption from Happy Landings.

Personality:Indie is our fun, bouncy, joyful girl who is on the search for her new family. She is quite worried by strangers, especially men, but once you make friends she gives the best cuddles and especially loves to play with her toys!Behaviour:Indie does best being introduced to new people slowly. She can make friends quickly with most women however it does take her longer to warm up to men. Any potential adopters should be prepared to commit to quite a few meets guided by the team. Indie walks well on lead and is very responsive to training. She loves using her brain and would be a dream for any adopter looking to do some training. Whilst Indie can be avoidant of dogs at times we have found she can make some doggy friends so would be able to have doggy friends to meet up with on walks after careful introductions.Housing:Cannot be rehomed to the SO22 area. As Indie can be worried by new people adopters should be prepared to separate Indie from visitors to the home, for example by the use of stair gates. Indie could be left for 3-4 hours in her previous home and we believe she could settle back into this, though adopters should be prepared to build up to this as she settles in.Children/pets:Indie will need an adult only home as she finds children quite scary at times. Due to her prey drive she will need to be the only pet in the home.Vet history:Indie is up to date on flea, worming, vaccinations and has been neutered prior to her arrival at the Ark.

Are you right for Margot?Beautiful Margot is a 10 month old Dogue De Bordeaux who has had a very unsettled past and this has left her very timid and worried by the world. She's very shy when you first meet her, but if you take time and give her space to come round she will eventually show you the sweet snuggle monster underneath. She will need her new family to dedicate some time to properly settling her in and very slowly building her confidence with the world. To do this she will need a calm and predictable routine meaning she'll need to be the only pet in an adult only home, although calm older teens may be considered.Is Margot right for you?Margot has already come out of her shell with her regular handlers and they absolutely adore her! She is very friendly and loves a good fuss from her friends. She really enjoys her walks and is very good on lead too. She is learning how to be around other dogs but is currently quite worried by them. She does not look for any trouble though and prefers to avoid them instead. She has clearly received no basic training so far so she will needs a little gentle guidance as she settles, which we're more than happy to help with. Having access to a secure garden will also help with her house training. So add Margot to your favourites if you like big, snuggly dogs and have time to do a little basic training and confidence building initially. Margot is worried by the car and would need home visits so you would need to live within an hour of the centre.

She's fully housetrained, a relaxed and happy passenger in the car, and comfortable being left alone for a few hours while you're out. Popsicle has exquisite taste, she's a self-declared connoisseur of the finer things, and nothing lights her up quite like a high-value treat (cheese is her weakness!). Out on walks, Popsicle is an absolute joy, beautifully behaved on lead and friendly with every dog she meets. Once she's settled in and comfortable, her playful side comes out: the zoomies make an appearance, and she's currently learning the art of tug. She's a bright girl who knows her commands well and is always delighted to show them off for a tasty reward. She's not a clingy dog, but she does love a good back scratch or belly rub, and her whole face lights up when her favourite people walk through the door. Popsicle is looking for a home that appreciates a dog with her own quiet confidence, someone who'll let her set the pace, spoil her a little, and give her the settled, comfortable life she so clearly deserves.
