He will suit an adult-only home with plenty of structure and someone who enjoys getting hands-on with training and enrichment. Andy Pandy thrives on company, so you will need to be around for much of the day and happy to guide him as he builds up confidence spending short periods by himself.When out and about, Andy needs to stay on lead using a two-point attachment which helps him feel supported and makes walks together enjoyable for everyone. Owners who relish an active lifestyle, love engaging with their dog and enjoy keeping a bright young mind busy will absolutely adore him.If you have a confident and tolerant dog who enjoys playful wrestling and interactive fun, they may make a great companion for him. Andy cannot live with cats or small furries. At home, he will need to be in a separate area when visitors arrive or when the front door is being used, helping him stay settled and feel secure during busier moments.

Are you right for Belle?Belle is a lovely 7 year old Sprocker Spaniel. She is a friendly girl who could join children of older primary school ages, but she would like to be the only pet in the home due to being selective with other dogs and sometimes quite vocal. Belle is an absolute delight in the home, she is fully housetrained, is very easy-going and is fine being left for a couple of hours. Belle would benefit from a garden but this isn't essential if she has regular toilet breaks. Belle recently had surgery on her back leg to repair a cruciate rupture, which she is now fully healed from. She will require ongoing pain relief due to osteoarthritis and would benefit from starting ongoing hydrotherapy. We will discuss this in full with any potential adopters. If medical costs is a barrier to rehoming, we would still love to hear from you.

Benny is a 10-year-old Cocker Spaniel who’s ready to find a calm, adult-only home where he can feel safe, secure, and truly loved. He’ll need a few meet-and-greets before you see the playful, affectionate, full-of-personality dog we know, but he’s well worth the effort. Benny would thrive with adopters who have a little experience with dog behaviour—or simply a willingness to learn alongside us. Our friendly training team will be there to guide and support you both every step of the way. He enjoys his own space and can be left alone for up to three hours to begin with, making him perfect for patient adopters who are happy to go at his pace.

Charlie is a handsome 5yrs old Springer, who is now enjoying the attention he receives in our “Springer School” but also looking forward to his graduation It wasn’t that way for the poor lad when he arrived, he seemed shocked to find himself in kennels and just sat in his bed and quivered. But with patient handling, once out and about, we discovered he likes to try and please.Charlie can now leave the past behind and face a brighter future. With patience and understanding Charlie has learnt that keeping toys to himself is not much fun as the result is the game ends. He enjoys lots of paw giving, high 5’s, nose touches and chin rests, which have built his confidence in human touch.Charlie adores swimming at every opportunity. He likes to play hide and seek in the woods keeping a sharp eye on his handler, as he doesn’t want to lose him. When out and about he is a gregarious chap and is happy to say hello to other dogs politely.Our dog walker sums him up as follows – “Such an absolute heart melter ”This friendly boy is looking for a home to give him stability, with either a single person or a couple, with no other pets. Owners who are prepared to commit to furthering Charlie’s development, building on what he has learnt. In return you will gain many years of enjoyment with a dog who deserves the best. Mutts in Distress

This is Charlie. We’ve been taking the time to assess him, so we could be certain on the type of home he requires. Charlie is a Cocker spaniel (possibly crossed with a springer), he is 7 years old. Charlie is looking for an experienced handler, ideally someone who understands the breed/s. Spaniels are working dogs and most need an outlet to keep them happy in life - Charlie is no exception. Charlie is toy/ food motivated and is a very quick learner. He really enjoys activities that get his brain working - he would not be happy with just a walk round the block. Charlie will need structure in the house - no sleeping on the sofa or on human beds. He has had negative experiences in his first home which means he becomes worried when people come close to his face (A child use to hold him by his ears so she could kiss him). We would recommend crating him at night. Here at the kennels, he is truly a lovely dog. We don’t pressure him or overwhelm him with affection/ fusses (don’t get me wrong, he does love a good fuss!). No children. Can live with other dogs. Has lived with a cat - no issue.

‹› Cooper Cooper is looking for an experienced owner who has time to work with him, help him gain confidence and learn to trust and provide the exercise he loves. Cooper will need to be set firm boundaries so he knows his place in the home. Cooper loves to carry a toy on his walks and this is his main focus, he ignores other dogs. He is walking so much better on lead and although initially strong, he very quickly settles down and walks nicely. He cannot be re-homed with children but could possibly be re-homed with a dog of suitable temperament. .

Are you right for Daisy Moo?This gorgeous little lady is Daisy-Moo. She is a 6 year old Springer Spaniel who was previously kept as an outside dog, and since arriving at Dogs Trust she has spent some time in a lovely Foster Home. In her Foster Home she has come on leaps and bounds! She has gotten a lot better at being left alone, but her ideal adopter is someone who wont be out all day long as she really loves company. Daisy-Moo still finds some things quite overwhelming, especially if they are new or unexpected. Therefore, she is looking for an adult only home, or a family with secondary school children where she will be the only pet. Daisy-Moo is a typical Spaniel who loves to get out for walks during the day and always has her nose to the ground to take in all the exciting smells! She would prefer to be walked in quieter areas away from too many dogs and people and is happy to travel in the car to find places like this. It is important that Daisy-Moo's adopter is happy with her spending the night in their bedroom as she much prefers the company. It is possible that she could be gradually moved out of the bedroom once she has settled into her new home. Daisy-Moo is toilet trained and has only ever had an accident inside when she first arrived in her Foster Home.

Ellie is a Sprocker spaniel who came to us through the stray system. Because of this we don’t know her background or age, but she is probably 3-4 years old. She loves people and other dogs. She could be rehomed with other dogs and children. She needs some lead training as pulls somewhat on the lead.

Are you right for Ellie?Ellie is a 10 year old Springer Spaniel who would love a home with her own secure garden in a quiet area. She will need to be the only dog in the home as she tends to ignore them and enjoy her own space out and about. She can live with upper secondary aged children. She does have a high prey drive so she will need a cat free home and to be kept separate from any small furries.

Are you right for Ezra?Ezra is a charming and gentle boy who thrives in quieter spaces outside of the kennel. He forms strong bonds with his trusted handlers and loves playing with his ball, often leaning in for extra affection. While he enjoys walking alongside other dogs, he’s currently more comfortable with some space rather than close contact. Ezra can be worried around formal handling, and is currently learning lots of new skills to support him and his new family through vet visits, and meeting some new people. Ezra is looking for his forever home with a secure garden, that is private so he can explore independently. Due to Ezra's worries around some newer people, he can live with children 16+ who understand his needs. Ezra can have walking buddies but is looking to be the only pet in the home, and in public will need to remain on lead & muzzled.

Are you right for Gunner?Meet gorgeous boy, Gunner! He is a 8-year old Springer Spaniel looking for an active family that can keep up with his energy. Gunner is a typical working breed that would thrive in a home that has good knowledge of the Springer Spaniel breed. Gunner could live with another resident dog - if they are tolerant and able to match his playstyle. He could also live with children as young as 11yrs if they are confident with bouncy, busy dogs. Gunner is a really sweet boy, who loves a fuss! Gunner loves to use his nose and his brain, so lots of stimulating walk, games, training and enrichment will give him exactly what he needs to thrive in his new home - he also loves to play fetch and a game of tug! Gunner is a loving and smart lad that will bond with his owners very quickly. He really would suit an active, adventurous family that are looking for a high-energy dog to keep busy. He needs to learn how to settle and be encouraged to wind down with enrichment. Gunner doesn't cope being left alone, so will need owners that are committed to working on his separation anxiety with him and build his time alone up very slowly.He deserves the best home - he just loves his people a bit too much!

Save Our Spaniels

14 month old sprocker in foster near Grantham, Lincolnshire. HAMISH has had a troubled start in life and is a UK relinquishment. He was an only dog and it has been clear from the outset, this boy needs company and a playmate. He hasn't put a paw wrong in his foster home. He is extremely well trained (house trained, sit, stay, recall) and my shadow around the house, when not playing with the gang. He loves being with other dogs, was initially interested in cats, but after a few weeks he has lost his interest (so dog savvy cat would probably be suitable) and loves human cuddles. We have instigated some boundaries (not allowed on furniture, doesn't go upstairs), which has not caused any issues, he listens very well. One of the issues was resource guarding, not exhibited when in foster, but to this end, we are looking for a home without children (or visiting). He will need an experienced spaniel home where he can use his body and brain (scentwork, mantrailing, canicross etc) with other dogs (of which one would need to be a good playmate) and a good sized garden for him to tear around. HAMISH will need a family to love, cuddle and guide him. He settles well on the dog beds (with some company), sleeps in the kitchen at night with no issues. Jumps straight in the car and travels well. We are looking for a home that doesn't use crates (absolutely no need) and preferably with someone around most of the day. He has been left for 2-3 hours with no issues. HAMISH is microchipped, vaccinated, castrated and had recent worming treatment.
