Arthur, a 8 years old male Jack Russell Terrier available for adoption from Almost Home NI in Northern Ireland

Almost Home NI

Arthur

Northern Ireland
SexMale
Age8 years
BreedJack Russell Terrier

Meet Arthur ️ Arthur is a little Jack Russell with a gentle soul and a story that would melt your heart. Estimated to be around 7–8 years old, Arthur hasn’t had the easiest life. He came from a property where there were many, many dogs being used for breeding, spending his days in breeding sheds with very little opportunity to experience the things most dogs take for granted. As a result, Arthur is a shy boy who finds the world a little overwhelming at times. But every single day, we’re seeing a little more of his personality emerge, and what a lovely little character he is proving to be. There is something incredibly special about watching Arthur discover life. The simple things that other dogs have always known are completely new to him. A soft bed, gentle affection, feeling safe, having someone he can trust. Little by little, he is learning that people can be kind and that the world isn’t such a scary place after all. Arthur is looking for a quiet, settled home where he can continue to grow in confidence at his own pace. We think he would benefit from living with another calm, friendly dog who could show him the ropes, but most of all he needs a family willing to give him the patience, understanding and love he has missed out on for so many years. He may not be the dog who charges into your life demanding attention. Instead, Arthur is the kind of dog who quietly steals your heart, rewarding your kindness with every small step forward he takes. After everything he has been through, we would love nothing more than to see Arthur spend his golden years exactly as they should be spent — warm, safe, loved, and finally knowing what it feels like to belong. Could you be the person to change Arthur’s life forever? ️

Bailey, a 7 years old male Staffordshire Bull Terrier x Jack Russell Terrier available for adoption from Edinburgh Dog and Cat Home in Scotland

Bailey

Scotland
SexMale
Age7 years
BreedStaffordshire Bull Terrier x Jack Russell Terrier

Bailey is looking for an owner who can keep him company all day and it would be nice for him to have access to a garden. He is looking to be the only pet but could live with older children. Bailey is a happy, confident boy who likes saying hello to everyone he meets. He adores human contact and is at his most content having you close by. This does mean that he finds it difficult being on his own so he will have to have company all day- he would be a lovely companion to have around for a family or someone who works from home. Despite having only 3 legs, he gets around with no issue and enjoys his walks though does tire easily so he would like easy access to his own garden where he can be given plenty of mental enrichment whether that be a tasty filled kong or likimat. Bailey doesn’t quite know what to do with himself when he comes across other dogs though can make doggy friends with careful introductions. Bailey has had veterinary treatment during his stay at the Home. More information will be discussed with successful applicants.

Bella, a 6 years old female Jack Russell Terrier available for adoption from Dogs Trust in Merseyside

Dogs Trust

Bella

Merseyside
SexFemale
Age6 years
BreedJack Russell Terrier

Are you right for Bella?Bella is looking for a home without children as her experiences with them haven't always been positive, and she will also need to be the only dog in the home as she lacks confidence around others. She is house trained and can be left alone for an hour or two. Bella will need multiple meets at the centre to build a bond with her new family. Is Bella right for you?Six-year-old Bella is looking for a quiet life. She is an active girl, still young, but she worries about sudden noises so a household with few visitors would be ideal. Bella forms strong bonds with people, but she may take her time to trust you as she's sometimes unsure of new folks. She loves to play with her toys, but she likes removing the squeakers even more! There are times when she has stood over her toys when someone has approached them so her adopters must be sure to leave her be with them and not try to take them from her. Bella can be very selective with the company she keeps, and she does have potential to have some quiet dog pals that won’t force her to interact. With the right family that will allow her time to stop and get comfortable, Bella will thrive.

Bruce, a 9 years old male Jack Russell Terrier available for adoption from Assisi in Northern Ireland

Assisi

Bruce

Northern Ireland
SexMale
Age9 years
BreedJack Russell Terrier

This handsome boy is Bruce, and he is your stereotypical Jack Russel. Bruce can be wary of the big wide world and finds it overwhelming at times. He much prefers quiet walks with his trusted companions and values quality time with them – once Bruce has built a bond with you, you will have a friend for life! His best friend at the Sanctuary is Tana the Shih Tzu, and they love going for quiet afternoon strolls together where they can take in the scenery and all the interesting smells. Bruce is comfortable wearing his muzzle when out on walks and can easily take treats through the gaps when working on learning new skills with the staff. In his downtime, he loves playing with toys and has become quite the collector! – he will often inspect our donation bin for more to add to his collection. He also enjoys daily naps in his comfortable bed and, like many of us, prefers to be undisturbed while sleeping. It would be beneficial to provide Bruce with a quiet area in his new home to place his bed. He is incredibly clever and loves learning new tricks! – he knows sit, paw, down, and hand touch – he has also trained people to let them know he would like attention by gently tapping you with his paw. Bruce is looking for a home that can work with some behavioural issues he has developed throughout his life due to stress and not giving him the space and time he needs. He can be quite fearful of strangers and men and will need time to come out of his shell, build confidence and trust in his new home. Do you have room in your heart and your home for a shy guy like Bruce? If so, please get in touch with us if you would like more information or fill in the application form down below.
