Aggie is full of energy and is looking for an active household where she will have her exercise and mental stimulation needs met. Aggie would be suited to being the only pet in the household so she can have all the attention she deserves and training she requires to thrive. She can live with sensible children aged 16 and upwards who will suitably interact with her and appreciate the need to give her space when she needs it. Aggie is very eager to explore on her walks, and can pull on the lead. Due to her size, this is manageable but her new family would benefit from working on loose lead walking when she is in her new home. Aggie has the potential to learn very quickly. She is very food orientated and responds wonderfully to positive rewards based training, she therefore would benefit from an owner who can continue with her training with kindness and consistency. Aggie can be cautious around new people and situations. She’ll need slow, patient introductions to unfamiliar faces. However, once she warms up, Aggie has the potential to be a loyal and affectionate companion. Aggie will need her new owner to be around the majority of the day initially, while she gets familiar with her surroundings and routine, but leaving hours can slowly be introduced once she is settled. If you’re looking for a lively, loving dog who will keep you on your toes, Aggie might just be the perfect match for you! Are you right for Ajax?Meet gorgeous boy, Ajax! Ajax is a 7-year old Jack Russell angel, looking for his forever home! Ajax has had a bit of a hard time in kennels so far, so would love a family who can give him all the time, patience and love to settle in at his own pace. Ajax would prefer to be the only dog but could live with a calm, well mannered dog pending a successful meet in the centre. Ajax enjoys a little fuss on his own terms once he has gotten to know you, but can be timid initially so would prefer for all children in the home to be 16yrs+. Ajax needs an understanding, quieter home where he can build his confidence and build a bond with his people. He is happy to do nice parallel walks with quieter, low energy dogs but still likes his own space. He is a super sweet, cute, angelic boy who is really missing his home comforts and can't wait to have his own little sofa to curl up on.Is Ajax right for you?Ajax is a sweet little man with a gentle nature. He would prefer for his people to be at home with him for the majority of the time while he settles into a new home, and leaving hours to be built up slowly. He walks beautifully on lead and does enjoy a short potter around where he can take in all the sights and sniffs. Ajax would prefer a quieter environment as louder noises can be quite spooky, and he is quite a sensitive lad so would prefer an area that's not too busy with traffic or people while he settles in. We can't wait to see this lovely gentleman enjoy his golden years feeling loved - as he deserves to be!

Bailey, a 5 years old female Jack Russell Terrier available for adoption from Manchester and Cheshire Dogs Home in Greater Manchester

BreedJack Russell Terrier

Meet Bailey! This little lady is a typical Jack Russell with a big personality packed into a small body. Full of energy and enthusiasm, she thrives on playtime and absolutely loves her toys – whether its a game of fetch or entertaining herself, she is always ready for fun. She can be quite vocal when playing, adding to her charm and character. She is an active dog who will need a home that can match her energy levels and provide plenty of physical exercise and mental stimulation. On the lead she is strong for her size and does tend to pull, so ongoing training and consistency will be important to help her improve her walking manners. She would be best suited to a home as the only dog. While she can enjoy her own company with her humans, she is not comfortable sharing her space with other dogs and prefers to have her environment to herself. Handling-wise she is not keen on having her paws touched, so her new owners will need to be patient and understanding, working with her at her pace to build trust and confidence. This bright, spirited girl is looking for a committed home that understands the needs of the breed and is willing to continue her training and provide her with the structure she needs to thrive. We think she will make a fun, loyal and entertaining companion. As Bailey came into the home as a stray we have no previous history on her so would prefer any children in the home to be 14+ years. If you have a holiday booked in the next 3 months please wait until you return to apply for a dog.*Applicants that are successful will be provided with further information on each dog to the best of the charity’s knowledge

Bella, a 6 years old female Jack Russell Terrier available for adoption from Dogs Trust in Merseyside

Bella

Merseyside
SexFemale
Age6 years
BreedJack Russell Terrier

Are you right for Bella?Bella is looking for a home without children as her experiences with them haven't always been positive, and she will also need to be the only dog in the home as she lacks confidence around others. She is house trained and can be left alone for an hour or two. Bella will need multiple meets at the centre to build a bond with her new family. Is Bella right for you?Five-year-old Bella is looking for a quiet life. She is an active girl, still young, but she worries about sudden noises so a household with few visitors would be ideal. Bella forms strong bonds with people, but she may take her time to trust you as she's quite unsure of new folks. She loves to play with her toys, but she likes removing the squeakers even more! There are times when she has stood over her toys when someone has approached them so her adopters must be sure to leave her be with them and not try to take them from her. Bella can be very selective with the company she keeps, and she does have potential to have some quiet dog pals that won’t force her to interact. With the right family that will allow her time to stop and get comfortable, Bella will thrive.

Belle (right on pic) is a 10 year old Jack Russel Terrier who was handed over to us with her brother Buttons after their behaviour changed with a new baby in the house. They have been friendly with staff here since they arrived but cannot be in a home with children and would be best as the only dogs in the house. They have lived together their whole lives so we would like if they could be rehomed together. They are house trained, crate trained and have some basic training. They walk nicely on the lead.

Bruce, a 5 years old male Jack Russell Terrier available for adoption from USPCA in Northern Ireland

USPCA

Bruce

Northern Ireland
SexMale
Age5 years
BreedJack Russell Terrier

Bruce is a handsome boy who was admitted into our care through our social rehoming scheme, he is now ready to find himself his new home! Bruce is a happy, friendly chap who thrives on human company, he has an energetic and adventurous personality, who loves spending time out on his daily walks, using his nose to explore the world around him! Once he is settled in his environment and once he gets to know you, he really loves people and loves being the centre of attention, he enjoys spending time with his human friends and just loves to hop onto your lap, where he sits and watches the world go by. Bruce is not used to being left alone for long, so would be best suited to a family who are around most of the time initially to help him settle into the home as he is happiest when he is included in all the comings and goings of daily life! Bruce has two luxating patellas that are a low grade and do not require surgery. This condition does not hold him back in his day-to-day life, and he is able to stay active and happy. To help keep his joints healthy, he will need to continue taking joint supplements, stay at a healthy lean weight, and avoid overdoing exercise. Bruce could live with children over the age of 12 years who have a sensible approach and experience with dogs. He could possibly live with another well-suited small dog upon successful meeting at our centre. It is unknown how he would react around cats.

Bruce, a 9 years old male Jack Russell Terrier available for adoption from Assisi in Northern Ireland

Bruce

Northern Ireland

Age9 years
BreedJack Russell Terrier

This handsome boy is Bruce, and he is your stereotypical Jack Russel. Bruce can be wary of the big wide world and finds it overwhelming at times. He much prefers quiet walks with his trusted companions and values quality time with them – once Bruce has built a bond with you, you will have a friend for life! His best friend at the Sanctuary is Tana the Shih Tzu, and they love going for quiet afternoon strolls together where they can take in the scenery and all the interesting smells. Bruce is comfortable wearing his muzzle when out on walks and can easily take treats through the gaps when working on learning new skills with the staff. In his downtime, he loves playing with toys and has become quite the collector! – he will often inspect our donation bin for more to add to his collection. He also enjoys daily naps in his comfortable bed and, like many of us, prefers to be undisturbed while sleeping. It would be beneficial to provide Bruce with a quiet area in his new home to place his bed. He is incredibly clever and loves learning new tricks! – he knows sit, paw, down, and hand touch – he has also trained people to let them know he would like attention by gently tapping you with his paw. Bruce is looking for a home that can work with some behavioural issues he has developed throughout his life due to stress and not giving him the space and time he needs. He can be quite fearful of strangers and men and will need time to come out of his shell, build confidence and trust in his new home. Do you have room in your heart and your home for a shy guy like Bruce? If so, please get in touch with us if you would like more information or fill in the application form down below.

Bruno, a 8 years old male Jack Russell Terrier available for adoption from Wonky Pets Rescue in Derbyshire

Wonky Pets Rescue

Bruno

Derbyshire
SexMale
Age8 years
BreedJack Russell Terrier

Bruno is a dinky (6kg) 8yr old jack russell boy, he is castrated, microchipped, fully vaccinated and had a dental, he has a clean bill of health and will be rehomed with 5 weeks free pet insurance.Bruno needed some help after his elderly owner got taken into care and he had no one to look after him, he had a sheltered start to life never leaving a flat before his last owner took him on around 18 months ago and he can be nervous of new people and situations but he comes around quickly.Bruno has settled into his foster home really well, he was absolutely delighted to see other friendly dogs and really does love running around with them and being part of the pack. His typical terrier side shows itself if anyone has a pop at him which is understandable but otherwise he is good with other dogs and would definitely benefit from sharing his new home with another friendly, confident, neutered dog.Bruno needs a jack russell experienced home who understand and are used to their tenacity, he is a busy, active and lively boy who loves his long walks and he loves a good run in our enclosed paddock. He can be strong on the lead and will chew through a fabric lead so a light chain lead onto a well fitting harness works best for him.His nervousness means he can be wary and vocal when meeting strangers and he will back but he has never bitten, its all just fear. This also displays in the vets but again he has never been aggressive, just overwhelmed and nervous. More positive exposure and correct socialisation will help massively with this but new owners need to be prepared to put some work in with this and not expect the perfect dog.Once he gets over that initial wariness he is a really sweet lad, he loves being on your lap or asleep at your feet and gives very sweet kisses. He is a real cutie.Bruno does still scent mark in the home as he is only recently castrated and was used to being in a flat, but overall his toileting is going well now. He will need access to a nice safe garden to play in and to help with this.He travels ok in the car, he has slept downstairs quietly with the other dogs at night and is ok being left for a few hours. He loves his food and is eating well, he has no food aggression with people or other dogs. He is very playful and loves his ball and toys.He will bark at cats so needs a feline free home and would be suitable for an adult only household or possibly one with teenagers. Smaller visiting children would be ok if introduced and supervised properly. He needs a home with people who are young, fit and active enough to keep up with him and provide him with the level of exercise and stimulation he needs.Being fostered in Swadlincote, Derby's but can be rehomed further afield subject to home check and adoption donation of £250If you can offer this gorgeous little lad the terrier savvy home he needs please email us telling us all about your home offer, experience and FULL ADDRESS and contact number to wonkypetsrescue@gmail.com PLEASE ONLY APPLY IF YOU ARE READY TO PROCEED WITH AN ADOPTION WE CANNOT RESERVE DOGS FOR HOLIDAYS ETC ETC
