18-06-26 Chewwie originally came to us from a breeder to find his forever home. He was lucky enough to be adopted, but sadly, despite being very loved, it became clear that the home wasn't quite the right match for him and he has now returned to our care to begin his search once again. Chewwie was very worried of the adult sons in the home and also wasn't a great match with the smaller resident dog.Chewwie is a sensitive and nervous boy who had experienced very little before coming into rescue and still finds new situations quite overwhelming. In his previous home, he formed a very close bond with his female adopter and absolutely adored her, but he remained worried around men and struggled to relax around the adult sons in the household. He will therefore be looking for a calm and quiet home with patient adopters who have experience of scared ex-breeding dogs and who will allow him all the time he needs to settle and build trust.Although he had never lived in a home before his adoption, Chewwie adapted beautifully to home life. He was house trained and thoroughly enjoyed all the comforts that a home has to offer, especially his cosy beds! He did find being left alone quite worrying, so his new adopters will need to be around for most of the time initially and slowly build up the amount of time he is left as his confidence grows.Chewwie will need another kind and confident resident dog in his new home to help reassure him and show him the ropes, but this dog will need to be medium size or larger. He previously shared his home with a cat and happily ignored them, so he could potentially live with a dog savvy cat.Since being adopted, Chewwie has also learnt how to walk on a lead and now enjoys his walks, although he can still be worried in unfamiliar places and will need ongoing support and encouragement as he continues to gain confidence.Once Chewwie gets to know you, he is an incredibly loving and affectionate boy who adores a fuss and cuddle. He has a wonderfully cheeky personality and loves to play with other dogs. He is also a bit of a mischievous boy and has been known to pinch things he shouldn't! His adopters will need to keep a close eye on shoes and other tempting items, as we are told he developed quite a fondness for chewing shoes in his previous home. He especially loves hard toys, but softer toys and enrichment items will need to be supervised as he can quickly chew through them.Chewwie is a truly special boy who has so much love to give. In the right home he will start to come out of his shell and truly flourish. In return, his lucky adopters will gain a devoted, affectionate and wonderfully cheeky friend who will make them smile every day. When Chewwie first arrived he had a lick granuloma on his front leg, which healed well. When he returned to the rescue he was limping on his front leg and holding it up, we took him to a local vets for an x-ray and no abnormalities or injuries were found, so it's possible that it is a soft tissue injury which should start to feel better soon, but this is something his adopters and their vet will need to monitor.Chewwie has a travel document.Chewwie has been given the Gift of Life by Paula Elliot

She will need patient adopters who are happy to take things at her pace and allow her confidence to build gradually. In the right home, Fox could share her space with dog-savvy teenagers aged 16 and over who can appreciate and understand that she will need a gentle, quiet introduction to the home and her own space to settle in.Fox is a sensitive and gentle girl who is trying her best to be brave.
