Are you right for Chestnut?Chestnut is on the search for his forever home! He would like a loving family and a safe place to call home. Chestnut would like his new home to be in a quieter area as he has worries around loud, unexpected noises and busy environments. He can have some worries at times and would love adopters who can take things at his pace and introduce new things slowly. Chestnut is a friendly boy who can live with children aged 10+ who are able to give him space when needed. He greets everyone with a waggy tail and can have regular visitors once he has had plenty of time to settle into his new home. Chestnut can have leave hours of 2-4 hours, but he would like this time to be built up gradually and once he has settled into his new environment. His ideal home will have a private (or very quiet communal) secure garden that he can enjoy sniffing around. He would like to be the only dog in the home for now, but has the potential to live with another well-matched dog in the future. In the meantime, he can have walking buddies!

Darwin, a 1 year old male Australian Shepherd x Jack Russell Terrier available for adoption from RSPCA in Hampshire

Hampshire
SexMale
Age1 year
BreedAustralian Shepherd x Jack Russell Terrier

Personality:Our lovely Darwin came to us through no fault of his own and, despite his difficult start, has won over many hearts here at the Ark! This boy is a small bundle of happiness and energy, he loves his walks, cuddles with his favourite people and can’t wait to find his forever home!Behaviour:Darwin is still quite young, bouncy and playful so potential adopters should be prepared for having a younger dog in the home. He can be vocal at times when out on his walks especially at other dogs, he is learning slowly to move on from but this will need to be continued in the home to help him be a bit calmer when out walking around other dogs. His current training plan will be handed over so his new family can continue encouraging this in the home. He has managed to make a few doggy friends here at the ark though he does like some space after a little bit of play and potential owners should be prepared to help encourage this.Housing:Cannot be rehomed to the PO15 area. Darwin will need access to a private and fully secure garden along the bottom as no doubt he would squeeze through gaps if he can find them! Darwin could be left a couple of hours but this will need to be done gradually whilst he settles in.Children/pets:Darwin will need to be the only pet in the home though could have some dog friends out on his walks. He could also live with children of secondary school age.Vet history:Darwin is up to date with flea, worming and vaccinations. He will need to return to the centre at a later date to be castrated.

I would like a family that will continue my training.I would like to be the only dog in the house.I would like my new family to be around most of the time.Paddy is a lively and affectionate collie who is looking for an active, loving home.He can sometimes find interactions with other dogs overwhelming and may respond by barking. For this reason, Paddy is seeking a home where he can be the only dog. This behaviour is manageable and can be discussed in more detail during an appointment.Paddy walks very well on the lead and particularly enjoys having time to explore his surroundings and take in all the interesting scents on his walks. He is a very intelligent dog who will benefit from a home that can provide both physical exercise and mental stimulation to keep him happily occupied.A home with previous collie experience would be especially beneficial, helping Paddy settle and thrive in the right environment.Paddy would suit an active family who can include him in adventures and provide the outlets he needs for his energy and intelligence. He could potentially live with school-aged children after careful introductions (10+ years old).

Are you right for Shep?Meet Shep, our handsome 4 year old Australian Kelpie! Shep is a sweet boy who is a bit worried of the world and will need help and guidance settling into the home. As you can see from his photos, once he get gets to know you he is a massive snuggle bug. Due to being more of a nervous boy, Shep is looking for a home where everyone is over 16 years old, but could potentially live with another dog pending a successful meet at our centre. We are unsure how much experience Shep has in the home environment, so he may need some support with initial house training and any leaving hours would need to be built up gradually.
