Bear is a bright, busy boy with a big personality and an even bigger zest for life! This clever lad is used to a home environment and knows the basics like “sit,” but he’s looking for a fresh start in a calmer household, where his boundaries will be respected. Bear previously found busy family life overwhelming, so he’ll thrive with experienced adopters who can provide structure, routine, and plenty of mental and physical stimulation. He’s an affectionate chap on his own terms and can be great fun, but he does get over-excited easily. On walks, Bear is happiest in quieter areas and wears a secure harness. Adventures are exciting and he has been known to make his own! Because of this, he’ll need a secure garden (no climbing aids), and must remain on lead. Bear can be vocal and may struggle with being left alone, so any time apart will need to be built up gradually. In the right home, Bear has all the makings of a loyal, entertaining, and devoted companion.Bear would prefer to be the only pet in the home for now, with the potential for carefully managed dog friendships in the future.

Benji, a 10 years old male Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier available for adoption from Animal Concern Cumbria in Cumbria

Animal Concern Cumbria

Benji

Cumbria
SexMale
Age10 years
BreedSoft Coated Wheaten Terrier

Benji is a 5-year-old Terrier mix with a fun loving personality and plenty of energy to share with his future family. Slightly taller than your average terrier and weighing around 11kg, Benji is a compact little adventurer who enjoys keeping active but also appreciates the comforts of home. This playful boy loves his toys and will happily keep himself entertained with them, especially if someone is around to join in the fun. Benji enjoys getting out and about for his walks, exploring new smells and places. While he’s not the biggest fan of rainy weather, he will still head out for an adventure if he’s wearing his waterproof jacket even if he does so a little grumpily! We suspect Benji may have a bit of Staffy in his mix, especially when you hear his chattiness. When he wants something, whether that’s playtime, attention, or dinner he isn’t shy about telling you!Benji is also a very affectionate dog who loves being close to his people. In fact, one of his favourite ways to show affection is by giving your ears a very enthusiastic clean! After a good walk or a play session, he’s more than happy to settle down beside you on a nice cosy sofa for some well earned relaxation.Benji would love a home where he can enjoy regular walks and little adventures, before coming back to relax with his family. He would prefer to be the only dog in the household, as he can be reactive around male dogs and can sometimes be a bit too much for female dogs.As Benji hasn’t lived with children before, we feel he would do best in a home with children aged 10 years and over, who can understand his lively nature and give him the space he needs2020 - 2026 Animal Concern Cumbria. Beryl, a 6 years old female Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier available for adoption from Ryedale Dog Rescue in North Yorkshire

Ryedale Dog Rescue

Beryl

North Yorkshire
SexFemale
Age6 years
BreedSoft Coated Wheaten Terrier

A terrier looking for an adult only homeBeryl is a 6 year old Patterdale Terrier who came into RDR from a council stray pound when she was only a puppy. She had sustained quite severe injuries in her former life as a hunt terrier and it took time for her to recover from these. On veterinary examination she was found to have a serious heart problem and underwent specialist open heart surgery to repair a whole in her heart (PDA) when she was just over a year old. She recovered very well from this and was given a clean bill of health afterwards. However she does suffer from a rare skin condition where she lacks collagen so her skin appears super stretchy. This can cause occasional issues but is managed well either with bandaging or surgery and any veterinary needs would be covered by RDR at Ryedale Vets who have known Beryl throughout her time with RDR. She is the best companion inside but don’t let that innocent face fool you as she’s a typical terrier when out and about and VERY interested in anything with fur or feathers!! She is fully vaccinated and neutered and good around other dogs although due to her health issues would probably be best living as an only dog in a home.If you’re interested in Beryl, please email chair@ryedaledogrescue.org.uk Before you contact us please read Our Adoption Policy

Biscoff, a 6 years old male Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier available for adoption from Epsom Canine Rescue in Surrey

SexMale
Age6 years
BreedSoft Coated Wheaten Terrier

Hi there, my names Biscoff and I'm a real cheeky chap! I can get a little scared of quick hand movements but soon come out of my shell. I'm very nosey and get involved in eveything going on around me. If you love Terriers then your sure to love me! I also had a very bad start in life and need gentle introductions to new people, especially men.I'm looking for an active adult experienced terrier home where there is always lots going on, I need to stay on a long line because I love to go off investigating, once my super nose picks up a scent I'm off! A semi rural home would be best for me, as like my friend Buddy I do get scared by loud noises and traffic. I am super affectionate, love lots of cuddles and fuss and will make you laugh daily with my antics! My favourite trick is to distract you with some mischief and then slurp your cuppa! I will need a lovely secure garden with at least a 6ft fence with gravel boards. If you think im lovely complete a rehoming form.

Bobby, a 11 years old male Staffordshire Bull Terrier x Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier available for adoption from RSPCA in East Sussex

Bobby

East Sussex
SexMale
Age11 years
BreedStaffordshire Bull Terrier x Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier

Bobby came in on the 10th of December 2024 via another rescue where he had been for 2 years. When he arrived he was quite a worried boy who seemed to be in discomfort around his back end which made him very sensitive to touch. After investigations and numerous antibiotics it was discovered that Bobby had a problem with his prostate that was easily cured by neutering him!Bobby is now a different dog to the one that arrived with us back in December. He is a happy, affectionate boy who loves to play with toys. Although he is a senior boy he loves his walks and exploring new places and you would think he is 5 years younger. Once he has bonded with someone he is very cuddly and will demand fuss and scratches all the time.Bobby is quite anxious other dogs and we feel he may prefer to be the only dog in the home. He will need a home without cats or small animals.Bobby is looking for an adult only, experienced home with someone willing to visit him several times at the shelter beforehand. He can be worried by new people and situations he has not experienced before. Any new owner will need to take things at Bobby’s pace and need to be aware of when he is feeling unsure and worried. He will need his own garden.Δdocument.getElementById( "ak_js_1" ).setAttribute( "value", ( new Date() ).getTime() );You must have an appointment booked after applying to adopt in order to meet the animals. You are welcome to drop off donations at any time or come into our reception office with any enquiries. We are constantly striving to improve all aspects of our work. Brock, a 6 years old male Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier available for adoption from Homeless Hounds in Lancashire

Homeless Hounds

Brock

Lancashire
SexMale
Age6 years
BreedSoft Coated Wheaten Terrier

Brock is new to Homeless Hounds & is under assessment. You can still apply for Brock but be aware at this stage we don’t know what type of home he will require.Brock is a friendly boy who loves his humans and greets everyone with excitement. He travels well in the car and was recently taken to the vets and was happy to sit in his crate with no issues. We can only presume at the moment that he has been house trained due Brock doing his toilet outside the kennels. While out on his walks, Brock is very strong on the lead and will pull to where he wants to go. He loves his treats which should make his lead training a little easier with time and patience from his new owner. As you can see from the video below, Brock showed no signs of reacting while walking past the kennels. He has recently met a dog from a distance and seemed like he wanted to say hello. As we gain more information about Brock we will update the website, thank you.

Demi, a 5 years old female Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier available for adoption from Manchester and Cheshire Dogs Home in Greater Manchester

Manchester and Cheshire Dogs Home

Demi

Greater Manchester
SexFemale
Age5 years
BreedSoft Coated Wheaten Terrier

She is very bouncy and boisterous and will literally throw herself at you to say hello and does forget how powerful she is (she just wants kisses!)We are looking for an experienced owner that is willing to put in the work with Demi to enable her to be the well behaved girl we know she can be! She does know her basic commands and sits nicely for a treat but her concentration span isn’t very long. All that said she is a friendly girl who loves a lot of fuss and attention! She loves going for long walks exploring the area but most of all if you give Demi a football (albeit a popped one very quickly), she will be your friend for life! Demi will need a private secure garden where she has space to practice her football skills!Demi has interacted well with other dogs whilst in our care but we feel she would be best rehomed as the only dog in the home so she can get 100% of the attention and all the training she needs. We are looking for an adult only home for Demi, just with her being boisterous and very giddy! She just wants to be loved and has been nothing but sweet since she came in to our care! Do you think you could give Demi the forever home she deserves?

Dilly, a 1 year old female Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier available for adoption from Hope Rescue in Wales

Hope Rescue

Dilly

Wales
SexFemale
Age1 year
BreedSoft Coated Wheaten Terrier

She’s affectionate and sweet with her people, enjoying close bonds and quality time. That said, Dilly can become quickly over-aroused and easily frustrated, especially around excitement, barriers. Because of this, she’ll need an adult only home, with patient and understanding adopters who can provide consistent structure, varied mental stimulation, and help her develop better emotional regulation skills.Dilly is learning lots of positive skills with her handlers, including a solid “drop” cue to help with previous toy guarding behaviours, and she’s doing well trading items for treats. She’s also being introduced to wearing a muzzle as a helpful training tool to safely build her confidence around other dogs. This isn’t a forever necessity, but part of giving her the right foundations and positive experiences. She’ll need continued, thoughtful exposure to appropriate dog interactions. Dilly is looking for a home as the only pet as she continues to grow her confidence with dogs. When playing, Dilly can be vocal, her excited noises can sometimes sound more dramatic than they are! She’s a high-energy girl who will benefit from regular outlets for her enthusiasm, secure off-lead opportunities where appropriate, and adopters who are committed to ongoing training. With empathy, curiosity, and a willingness to learn alongside her, Dilly has huge potential to blossom into an incredible little companion. If you’re looking for a clever, lively, small but mighty dog to invest your time and heart into, Dilly could be your perfect match.

Dolly, a 2 years old female Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier available for adoption from Auras Dogs in Gloucestershire

Auras Dogs

Dolly

Gloucestershire
SexFemale
Age2 years
BreedSoft Coated Wheaten Terrier

DOB: 02/02/24Size: Small.Sex: Neutered Female.Good with other dogs: Solo dog home.Good with children: Adult home.Good with cats: Unknown. Dolly is a funny little scruff ball who has come to us from the stray kennels. Dolly is full of love, fun and cuddles, she is a funny cheeky girl who likes to dance (especially for a treat!) Dolly does need an experienced terrier home that is confident with rescue dogs – she can be very fearful of new men (although can bond over time) and sometimes with new women – she needs a patient and knowledgeable home that will give her the time and space she needs initially to bond with her and gain her trust. Dolly will need several meets with a potential family to establish that bond – she does live with children now, although because she can take time to warm up, we are looking for an adult only home with not a huge amount of comings and going in the home. Dolly loves a walk, loves being outside, and would enjoy a semi active home – she loves to play, and makes her Foster’s laugh everyday with her big personality- she has so much love to give and loves to snuggle up. Dolly does live with another dog and has had dog friends, however she again needs good intros to do this, so we are looking for a solo dog home for her to make her transition as easy as possible. Could you be the proud new parents of Dolly?
