​ Bailey is around 10 years old and a Terrier cross. Bailey came into our care with 2 other dogs from a not so nice situation. (More info will be given after application and a home check is done). ​​ Bailey has been in foster and here is what his foster mum has to say : A little more senior, but up for a walk and little adventures!! Sweet guy, he will answer when you talk to him, he has a recall, but can be distracted so needs reminding. He has shown interest in our hens, but not in an attack way, I think he has just never seen them before and wants to know what they are. He has not been near our sheep, we have young lambs at the moment. He was indifferent when he met our cats. He is good company, enjoys cuddling, but will also settle in his bed. Bailey will position himself at the door to go out for toileting, if you miss his signal you can have a puddle!! He is clean overnight so long as you let him out at bedtime. When he arrived here it was just like he had always been here, our other dogs barely noticed an extra. He enjoys the company of our dogs but does not like to share a bed with them. He is playful and likes a ball thrown for him. Happy to stay in the garden and does not mind missing a walk, but enjoys his walks and is good on a lead. He is more settled to have the lead on his collar as he leans and pulls into the harness. He has been left, while we go shopping etc, and has settled into his bed. Not left alone with us as there is always doggy company. He eats well and takes treats from your hand gently. He would suit someone who has time to spend with him and would like a new brother or sister . He likes the garden and his ball just as much as a walk. A quieter boy, but still has loads to give. While he’s not the biggest fan of rainy weather, he will still head out for an adventure if he’s wearing his waterproof jacket even if he does so a little grumpily!We suspect Benji may have a bit of Staffy in his mix, especially when you hear his chattiness. When he wants something, whether that’s playtime, attention, or dinner he isn’t shy about telling you!Benji is also a very affectionate dog who loves being close to his people. In fact, one of his favourite ways to show affection is by giving your ears a very enthusiastic clean! After a good walk or a play session, he’s more than happy to settle down beside you on a nice cosy sofa for some well earned relaxation.Benji would love a home where he can enjoy regular walks and little adventures, before coming back to relax with his family. Ryedale Dog Rescue

A terrier looking for an adult only homeBeryl is a 6 year old Patterdale Terrier who came into RDR from a council stray pound when she was only a puppy. She had sustained quite severe injuries in her former life as a hunt terrier and it took time for her to recover from these. On veterinary examination she was found to have a serious heart problem and underwent specialist open heart surgery to repair a whole in her heart (PDA) when she was just over a year old. She recovered very well from this and was given a clean bill of health afterwards. However she does suffer from a rare skin condition where she lacks collagen so her skin appears super stretchy. This can cause occasional issues but is managed well either with bandaging or surgery and any veterinary needs would be covered by RDR at Ryedale Vets who have known Beryl throughout her time with RDR. She is the best companion inside but don’t let that innocent face fool you as she’s a typical terrier when out and about and VERY interested in anything with fur or feathers!! Colour: Black & WhiteLocation: New Romney Billy has unfortunately been returned due to fighting with the other dog in the home, because of this he will need to be the only pet in the property. Billy has also become dog reactive so will need an owner who is happy to work with him on this issue. Billy is amazing with people and loves going for long walks and getting lots of exercise. Billy needs an active home where he will not be left alone for more than 4 hours a day.

Hi there, my names Biscoff and I'm a real cheeky chap! I can get a little scared of quick hand movements but soon come out of my shell. I'm very nosey and get involved in eveything going on around me. If you love Terriers then your sure to love me! I also had a very bad start in life and need gentle introductions to new people, especially men.I'm looking for an active adult experienced terrier home where there is always lots going on, I need to stay on a long line because I love to go off investigating, once my super nose picks up a scent I'm off! A semi rural home would be best for me, as like my friend Buddy I do get scared by loud noises and traffic. I am super affectionate, love lots of cuddles and fuss and will make you laugh daily with my antics! My favourite trick is to distract you with some mischief and then slurp your cuppa! I will need a lovely secure garden with at least a 6ft fence with gravel boards. If you think im lovely complete a rehoming form.

Bobby is a very active, sweet little guy, of around 12kg.He's an energetic lad who likes to be busy and play in the garden.Really playful, he and his foster sister play endlessly, he's the first dog that has outlasted her! He's learning to chill out using a crate, as he seems to understand that means it's time to rest.Bobby needs training. He would probably excel at any kind of dog sport. He likes his food but not treat orientated. More attentive with tugs, squeaks etc. Overall a smashing little dog, needs a playful dog with similar energy, ideally a bitch, already established in the home. Huge potential in the right, active home. Kids around 7+. No cats

Homeless Hounds

Brock is new to Homeless Hounds & is under assessment. You can still apply for Brock but be aware at this stage we don’t know what type of home he will require.Brock is a friendly boy who loves his humans and greets everyone with excitement. He travels well in the car and was recently taken to the vets and was happy to sit in his crate with no issues. We can only presume at the moment that he has been house trained due Brock doing his toilet outside the kennels.While out on his walks, Brock is very strong on the lead and will pull to where he wants to go. He loves his treats which should make his lead training a little easier with time and patience from his new owner.As you can see from the video below, Brock showed no signs of reacting while walking past the kennels. He has recently met a dog from a distance and seemed like he wanted to say hello.As we gain more information about Brock we will update the website, thank you.

Last Chance Animal Rescue

Romney Bubba has been returned due to reactive behaviour around children. Due to this he will need to be in an adult only home and to be the only dog in the home as he can become more reactive around other dogs. Bubba is a typical terrier who loves to bark when out but is a lot calmer when in the home. He may need some training to work on his behavioural problems.

Meet Buster our golden oldie with a young heart!At 12 years young, this handsome boy is proving that age is just a number! He is still full of life, loves getting out and about and really enjoys his walks. He is always ready to explore and be part of the action. Don’t let his age fool you, this boy can still be quite bouncy and excitable, especially when he’s happy or knows something fun is about to happen. He has a playful spirit and plenty of personality, bringing lots of joy and energy wherever he goes. He is looking for a home that will embrace both his golden years and his lively nature, somewhere he can enjoy regular walks, plenty of attention and a comfy spot on the sofa to relax after a busy day. Buster is a lovely boy and has so much love left to give and would make a wonderful companion for someone willing to open their heart to an older dog.Buster has socialised with other dogs whilst in our care but we feel he would be best rehomed as the only dog in the home where he can get 100% of the love and attention.As Buster came into the home as a stray we have no previous history on him so would prefer any children in the home to be 14+ years.*Applicants that are successful will be provided with further information on each dog to the best of the charity’s knowledge
