Amelia has just come into our care and gone straight into foster with Julia and Mei along with Emma another Terrier cross we have rescued. They are not siblings they are 2 totally different dogs but both rescued from the same are. Poor Amelia has not had the best start to life. She’s a little shy but does love cuddles. She is good with other dogs. Amelia is slightly overweight but with a controlled diet and some exercise she will slim down and get fitter. She walks ok on lead but will benefit from some general training and lead work. Amelia would benefit from a calm home so children over 8 and must have another dog in the home which would be nice for her. Due to her not setting without another dog. No cats or small furries. We will add more about her as she settles in with her foster parents. If you'd like to offer Amelia a forever home, please fill in our online application form. If you’re successful you will receive an email from us (please check your spam), have a home check, then we invite you to meet the dog.

Bean is a lively and characterful Patterdale Terrier cross who is looking for an experienced and active home that can meet his needs. Once he feels comfortable, Bean is an affectionate boy who enjoys settling down alongside his carers, especially when he has one of his favourite toys to keep him occupied.Bean is extremely toy motivated and highly driven, showing many traits of a working-type terrier. He thrives on activity and engagement, particularly when toys are involved, and will need plenty of mental stimulation to keep him happy and fulfilled. Due to his background and natural instincts, he would benefit from having appropriate outlets for his energy, such as scent work, problem-solving games, and other enrichment activities.Bean is best suited to being the only dog in the home, as he may find living with another dog challenging. However, with careful management, he could enjoy having a well-matched dog walking companion to help meet his social needs in a controlled way.

Beryl, a 6 years old female Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier available for adoption from Ryedale Dog Rescue in North Yorkshire

BreedSoft Coated Wheaten Terrier

A terrier looking for an adult only homeBeryl is a 6 year old Patterdale Terrier who came into RDR from a council stray pound when she was only a puppy. She had sustained quite severe injuries in her former life as a hunt terrier and it took time for her to recover from these. On veterinary examination she was found to have a serious heart problem and underwent specialist open heart surgery to repair a whole in her heart (PDA) when she was just over a year old. She recovered very well from this and was given a clean bill of health afterwards. However she does suffer from a rare skin condition where she lacks collagen so her skin appears super stretchy. This can cause occasional issues but is managed well either with bandaging or surgery and any veterinary needs would be covered by RDR at Ryedale Vets who have known Beryl throughout her time with RDR. She is the best companion inside but don’t let that innocent face fool you as she’s a typical terrier when out and about and VERY interested in anything with fur or feathers!! She is fully vaccinated and neutered and good around other dogs although due to her health issues would probably be best living as an only dog in a home.If you’re interested in Beryl, please email chair@ryedaledogrescue.org.uk Before you contact us please read Our Adoption Policy

Betty is a terrier of around 3 years in age.She came to us as an unclaimed stray from the local pound.Betty is a gentle girl but a typical terrier – so strictly no cats please! She is a very good dog in the home, being house trained and loves nothing more than sitting in the garden and watching her human garden.Betty is non reactive to dogs when out on her walks but sometimes she seems a bit anxious so at present we are saying it’s best if she’s the only dog in the home. She walks fairly well on the lead and only pulls when she wants to sniff something interestingBetty is a delight to have around.

Biscoff, a 7 years old male Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier available for adoption from Epsom Canine Rescue in Surrey

Hi there, my names Biscoff and I'm a real cheeky chap! I can get a little scared of quick hand movements but soon come out of my shell. I'm very nosey and get involved in eveything going on around me. If you love Terriers then your sure to love me! I also had a very bad start in life and need gentle introductions to new people, especially men.I'm looking for an active adult experienced terrier home where there is always lots going on, I need to stay on a long line because I love to go off investigating, once my super nose picks up a scent I'm off! A semi rural home would be best for me, as like my friend Buddy I do get scared by loud noises and traffic. I am super affectionate, love lots of cuddles and fuss and will make you laugh daily with my antics! My favourite trick is to distract you with some mischief and then slurp your cuppa! I will need a lovely secure garden with at least a 6ft fence with gravel boards. If you think im lovely complete a rehoming form.

Bobbi, a 6 years old female Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier available for adoption from Yorkshire Rescue in North Yorkshire

Say hello to our beautiful bubbly Bobbi! Bobbi is being rehomed due to an owner change of circumstances meaning that they no longer have enough time for her - she has been a very loved girl and we are looking for a home where she’ll be loved just as much!Despite her tiny frame Bobbi has just the biggest heart - she’s such a loving little dog & is at her happiest when around her people (preferably receiving lots of fusses!). She’s so well behaved within the home & just wants to help you with your jobs, she’s a very polite girl!Bobbi is an active little girl, she’d love to go on lots of long walks with you and have adventures (she’s an especially big fan of the beach!). She likes walking with her dog friends but can be a little timid with larger or louder dogs, we think another dog in the home might be a little much for her. Bobbi is good in the car & loves being out and about. As a terrier Bobbi does have a bit of a prey drive (did someone say squirrel?!) so we aren’t looking to home her with cats (all the more attention for her anyway!). She has lived with children previously but found the constant noise to be a little over exciting so we’d ideally be looking for older children or an adult only household.Bobbi does have a bit of separation anxiety, she finds being left alone a little bit stressful as its something she hasn’t been very used to, so her ideal home would have someone around a lot of the time- especially to begin with as she settles into her new routine. If you think your heart (and sofa!) has a Bobbi sized hole, please fill in an application form. She can’t wait to meet you!

Buddy, a 5 years old male Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier available for adoption from Manchester and Cheshire Dogs Home in Greater Manchester

Buddy

This loveable boy is Buddy! He is the perfect mix of playful energy and affectionate companionship. He’s a friendly, easy-going lad who absolutely adores people and loves being the centre of attention. Full of character, he’s excitable, giddy and always ready to make you smile. Whether it’s cuddles on the sofa or a game in the garden, he just wants to be involved in everything you do. He is bursting with energy and would thrive in an active home where he can enjoy plenty of exercise, playtime and mental stimulation. Fetch is one of his favourite games, and he will happily keep you entertained for hours chasing after a ball. Buddy is incredibly affectionate and loves a fuss, he will make a loyal, loving companion. One thing to note : He is quite the escape artist, so he will need a private secure garden and owners who are mindful of doors, gates and fencing. When Buddy came into us he had an Entropian (an eye condition) which has now been repaired and he is healing nicely.Buddy has interacted well with other dogs whilst in our care so we feel he could potentially live with another high energy dog following a successful meet and greet. As Buddy came into the home as a stray we have no previous history on him so would prefer any children in the home to be 14+ years. We are unsure how Buddy would react around cats.If you have a holiday booked in the next 3 months please wait until you return to apply for a dog.

He has a playful spirit and plenty of personality, bringing lots of joy and energy wherever he goes. He is looking for a home that will embrace both his golden years and his lively nature, somewhere he can enjoy regular walks, plenty of attention and a comfy spot on the sofa to relax after a busy day. Buster is a lovely boy and has so much love left to give and would make a wonderful companion for someone willing to open their heart to an older dog. Buster can be quite strong on the lead so will need continued lead training. Buster has now been in kennels for 94 days and is now desperately looking for his quiet retirement home.Buster has socialised with other dogs whilst in our care but we feel he would be best rehomed as the only dog in the home where he can get 100% of the love and attention. As Buster came into the home as a stray we have no previous history on him so would prefer any children in the home to be 14+ years.*Applicants that are successful will be provided with further information on each dog to the best of the charity’s knowledge

Dolly, a Unknown old female Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier available for adoption from Auras Dogs in Gloucestershire

Auras Dogs

Dolly

Gloucestershire
SexFemale
AgeUnknown
BreedSoft Coated Wheaten Terrier

Please read Dolly’s full advert before applying. Dolly is fearful of men and will require very slow, carefully managed introductions. Ideally, she is looking for a female-only home. She will also need an experienced, patient, terrier-savvy adopter who understands rescue dogs and is willing to give her the time she needs to build trust. Dolly is a funny little scruffball who came into our care from the stray kennels and has quickly won hearts with her huge personality. Full of love, fun, and affection, Dolly is a cheeky little character who loves attention and has a wonderful habit of “dancing”—especially when treats are involved! She brings endless entertainment to her foster home and keeps everyone smiling with her playful antics. While Dolly has so much love to give, she does need a special home that understands her fears. She can be very wary of unfamiliar men and, on occasion, new women too. Once she trusts someone, she forms strong bonds and becomes a loyal, affectionate companion, but she needs people who will respect her boundaries and allow her to progress at her own pace. For this reason, Dolly will need several meet-and-greets with any potential adopter before going home. Although she currently lives with children, we feel she would be happiest in a calm, adult-only household with limited visitors and not too much day-to-day bustle. Dolly loves her walks, enjoys spending time outdoors, and would suit a semi-active home that can provide both adventure and companionship. After a day of exploring, she’s more than happy to curl up for cuddles and enjoy some quality time with her favourite people. Dolly currently lives with another dog and has had canine friends in the past. However, she can be vocal when on lead and requires careful introductions to new dogs. To give her the best chance of settling into a new home successfully, we are looking for a home where she can be the only dog and enjoy all the attention to herself. Dolly is a wonderfully quirky little girl who simply needs the right people to see past her worries and help her feel safe. In return, she will reward them with loyalty, laughter, and endless affection. Could you be Dolly’s perfect match?
